Electrician reviews in Boxford

Matt was really great to work with. He answered calls immediately, rescheduled an appointment I had to change, showed up on time, and the price was reasonable. Most of all, he was willing to work with me although I am doing the majority of the remodel myself, which many electricians don't like to do. He even put in an extra outlet instead of closing the line with a blank box, for no extra fee. Really nice guy. I had no complaints at all. Definitely will get my business again.

Spittle was hired by our AC company to connect the power to a new unit.

The electrician was told by the AC company to run the power to an auxiliary panel where the old AC used to be connected. I even showed him where it was and cleared access. SO... this guy decides to run it to the main panel, move a bunch of breakers (which were previously labeled and now don't match), disconnect our laundry power and put a blank where he couldn't replace a breaker.

He doesn't ask me any questions or even tell me, or anyone else, what he's done. Then, we go to do laundry next day: no power.

Guy shows up a few days later to fix his mess with no advance call or notice. No apology. Makes excuses why he did what he did. Says he didn't have enough cable for the run to the aux panel. Says he brought 75' but wouldn't reach.

I measured the run. Sixty feet.

So, he didn't do what he was supposed to, forced his own screwy solution to "his" problem of not enough cable (and/or being lazy) and then didn't tell anyone what he did while disconnecting breakers and screwing up our panel in the process.

So, finally, he returns and reconnects the laundry power, does not apologize, makes excuses and then says it will take awhile to reschedule a time to do the job the way it was supposed to be done.

I would NOT use this company. They are making the AC company look bad even though the rest of the HVAC work was done very professionally.

If they are "too busy" doing "big" jobs than they shouldn't take the smaller jobs if they are not going to do them right.

    Homeowners beware!

We are loving our new recessed lights - makes such a huge difference in our home.

Steven and his apprentice (Lee, I believe) did a really great job and we're very happy with their work.

I am already planning on which other rooms we are going to add recessed lights to. I definitely recommend Northern Lights Electrical.

Chris and Scott installed a landscape lighting system that the entire neighbor hood comments on. Every spring, they come out and repair any fixtures damaged by snowfall/snowplows. They installed a 20Kv generator, supervised the placement of a propane fuel source tank and dug the 100 foot trench to bury the lines - all according to code. The town inspector commented that he thought it was one of the best jobs he had seen from outdoor installation to the inside wiring and panel setup. Most importantly, Chris and Scott have always been incredibly responsive to ongoing needs. We had a sump pump failure resulting in serious water in the basement. One phone call and they immediately came over with additional pumps and fixed the existing pump to limit the damage. This past winter when ice dams turned the inside of my house into a water park, Chris came right over to safely remove all lighting fixtures that soaked. All around, great people and great service.

Originally I got the $59 deal for an electrical inspection, which I was very happy with. It was easy to schedule and done efficiently, yet thoroughly.  We found a few other issues that needed to be dealt with separately, such as updating an electrical panel and installing a new electrical outlet. This work was also easy to schedule and done in a thorough, yet efficient manner.  The actual price of the panel update was much cheaper than estimated, as Tyler figured out how to cut costs while doing the work, but yet still did all that needed to be done.

Barry was very responsive to our inquiry, and was quick to give me an estimate over the phone.  I told him I'd be much more comfortable with his estimate, which was the lowest I'd received by far, if he could come to our home for an inspection.  The inspection for the estimate was easily scheduled, Barry was there on time and backed up his original pricing, which was HALF of the top estimate.
Barry and (2) workers handled the installation exterior outlet, the generator circuit, and the interlock device in just a little over 2 hours.  They asked about their shoes on our floors, and were happy to use the side bulkhead entrance to access the circuit panel in the basement.   Barry advised us of the capacity we should be looking for in a new generator, and the system works perfectly.

The first project Paul worked on was replacing the rotted wood under a bay window and replacing porch railings.  Both projects turned out to be bigger than expected and required some creative approaches.  Due to the unknowns he worked for time and materials.  The end product turned out great and it was very reasonable.  Since then he's fixed my roof, not an easy job with the steep pitch, remounted the dishwasher, patched a brick wall including anchoring electrical outlets.
No job seems too big or too small.  He's great to work with, always shows up when he says he will and cleans everything up.  I'm working on a new list of projects for him to do over the next few months as I get my house ready to sell.   I highly recommend hiring Paul.

Todd and Mike did a great job, they kept us informed throughout the job and embraced the challenges our house dealt them. The job was completed on time and on budget and we will definitely refer Kevin and his team to everyone we know and use them for any future work we may need.
