    Refrigerator stopped working one Sunday morning. I had a very hard time finding someone to come out on short notice on a Sunday. I called at least half a dozen places. Mass Appliance was the only company who would come out. The service technician arrived within an hour. The fee was reasonable considering it was an emergency weekend call. The technician diagnosed the problem but couldn���t repair it because a part needed to be ordered. Even though he couldn���t fix it on the spot, he did what he could and gave me clear advise for following up with the manufacturer to get the replacement part, which was under warranty. I would use them again.

    I called on Thursday December 1 regarding a refrigerator repair, and spoke with Bob who confirmed his technician (Mark) could be at our house at 6pm, or "maybe later". The repairman never showed up and never called to inform us. I took my business elsewhere.

    They did not think they could get a technician to me the day I called but they managed to squeeze me in. Because they did get here, the compressor was not ruined. Kevan was great, explained everything and did exactly what he said he would do. No surprises. I would highly recommend Same Day Service and will not hesitate to use them again.

    McLaughlin Plumbing was great. Excellent communication all the way: on the phone making the appointment, a call from the office to say the plumber would be a little late, and a call from the plumber to say he would arrive in ten minutes. Tyler was friendly, polite and informative. He was done in about two hours, answered all my questions, and was very neat. Couldn't ask for better.

    I have used Douglass Appliance in the past and generally have been happy, but I was not happy with this visit.  My problem is with the price.
    I discovered the gas dryer was not producing heat on a Sunday night.  I called Douglass Appliance the following Monday but they said they could not send anyone out for a week.  I was not able to be home but our nanny was here to let the technician in.  The dryer is now working and that is great news. 
    The technician was here for a grand total of 21 minutes and total cost was $136.30.  Parts were only $22.45.  Given that the Douglass Appliance is only 10 minutes from my house, the labor charge was effectively $227/hour.  The invoice had $99.95 just for them to show up and then $12.50 labor.  I think that is crazy and I will likely try someone else the next time I need appliance repair.
    Please note, I have not rated quality as it has only been a few hours since the repair was done.  I also did not rate professionalism as I was not present when the technician was here.

    Griff arrived promptly and determined that the problem with my dishwasher was a bad touchpad (? - the thing where you press the buttons for the various dishwasher settings) that would need to be replaced. He had to order the part, and on the day he came back he called to let me know he'd be running a few minutes late. I mentioned that the dishwasher also wasn't cleaning dishes very well, so he took apart the bottom of dishwasher and cleaned that out, and he also spent quite a bit of time cleaning the inside of the dishwasher, while offering lots of advice on how to keep the dishwasher running well. I have used Griff in the past and he's always been very prompt, professional, polite, and helpful. He's definitely my go-to person for appliance repairs.

    I needed a washing machine ASAP. Called 4 times in less than 30 minutes: Call 1: direct to voicemail. Call 2: someone finally picks up and transfers me to a voicemail. Call 3: direct to voicemail. Call 4: someone actually seems interested in selling appliances but is busy so tries to transfer to someone else who can help, but goes to voicemail.

    They are very personable and follow up well. They are a small company and they give you personal service. I have been using them for about 10 years. They come when they are supposed to. They do the work that they are supposed to, they don't try to add on bogus charges or anything and they get it done.

    Marblehead Appliance Service Inc
    The washer broke on a Sat. I called Marblehead Appliance, because of the 24 hr. emergency service; it was closest to my condo; and the reviews were favorable. I was called back, in about 5 min. He couldn't make it until Mon.; because he was away. Steve called Mon. and gave me a time; he was a half hour late. He repaired the shocks, instead of replacing them, saving me some money. Also, he gave me a lot of advice, which, hopefully will pay for itself. I gave a "B" instead of a "C" for price: ($175 labor for 1 1/2 hrs., in my condo); because he said he doesn't charge more for emergency service or weekends; and I don't believe any one should get punished for doing their work quickly and accurately: and for the advice. Nothing is free and no one is perfect.

    Same Day Service Company Inc
    He was on time, courteous, very quick and he knew what he was doing. Price is hard to say because it was cheaper then a new washer but it wasn't cheap. All repairs seem to be expensive but I think he had control over that. We will see how long the repair lasts. So far so good and we have done laundry and it has worked and all that. He was knowledgable and he answered our questions well. He was on time, he called before he showed up and was very professional. We have actually used this company before. They fixed two refrigerators and our dishwasher.
