    Masterpiece Finishes
Gary Clark and his crew not only prepared and painted my house professionally and cleaned up after themselves, but Gary also proposed sanding, repairing, and staining my back deck to restore it. His estimated price for this extra work was reasonable, so I agreed to add it to the house painting. The deck now looks like new after years of neglect (by me). My house looks fabulous, too, especially with the like-new back deck and vinyl shutters painted a new, vibrant color. I cannot recommend Masterpiece Finishes more highly.

    Drinkwine Interiors

Decorative skim coat on ceilingin master bath and bedroom was peeling off so it all had to be scraped off. Then smooth skim coatwas applied, sanded, primed and painted two coats.

Border print was removed from master bedroom walls. Walls were patched, sanded and painted two coats. Heater covers were also painted wall color. Living room and hallway ceilings were painted. Walls were patched, sanded and painted two coats. Heater covers and interior of front door were also painted wall color. Trim on doorways, windowsand walls was left alone (current stain did not need to be redone).

Exterior trim including decorative squares under front windows, overhead garage doors, gutters and downspouts and overhang were all painted. Exterior of front door was painted to match new shutters. New shutters were hung.

Bob and Deana were always prompt and very professional. They made sure there was no mess made andused vacuum attachment on their sander as they worked. They used drop cloths to cover floors, rugs and heavy furniture left in living room. Everything was kept very clean. When they started to paint the exterior and saw that the color I picked out was not really matching the brick, they stopped and called me. When I saw the color, I agreed, this was not the color I pictured. So Deanna helped me pick out a color that would be a better match.

Now that everything is completed, it looked really great, just like a new house outside and in! I would definitely recommend them to family and friends!

    Clean Machine Power Wash
Great company, great staff! We heard from them the same day we emailed. They arrived early on the appointed day. Did a thorough job - even cleaned our screens, windows and between unused storm doors and doors. Our deck - which was VERY badly stained - looks like new. We felt the price was very reasonable for the work.

Started great with nice work. Ended with poor workmanship quality and them needing to get to the next job. They will claim we asked for all kinds of extras ( looked at their Angie reviews), but we only asked for agreements to be lived up to. We had to do a lot of work to keep up with appropriate clean up as job went on.  Overall feeling was they took on a job out of their  league.  Probably a great company for small jobs. Not a great company for bigger jobs.

    Bob Peters Painting
The siding of our building was old, dried out and faded.  Bob and his crew did a terrific job washing, scraping and painting the building.  I was really impressed with how quickly the work was done and how very neat they were with everything.  The crew was professional and courteous.  Bob has a good sense of color and was very helpful with assisting us with our choice too.  I would definitely recommend him  for any painting project!

Ethan's Eden Landscape and Design, LLC
We had Ethan and his crew come in to complete the landscape around our in ground pool. My wife and Ihad worked on this area for a couple ofyears, but we wanted someone to come in and complete our vision. We selected Ethan based onAngie's List reviews and photo examples of his prior work as shown on his website. Ethan is very knowledgeable about his craft and what would fit our needs the best. He was attentive to what we were interested in accomplishing and was able to add creative ideas and suggestions. This is exactly what we wanted, we weren't looking for a "yes" mancontractor. We needed professional help and ideas and Ethan fit the bill. The work he and his crew did was exceptional, and we couldn't be happier. They were timely, professional and very careful working around the worksite (including the pool and equipment areas) andpicked up at the end of each day. You could tell the passion he has about his work and he made us feel that our project was "his" project. In addition, Ethan spent time walkingaround the site at the completion of the job, educating me on watering schedules, expectations and follow-up. That extra effort is not always shown by contractors I've had experience with. To close, he would be the first person I call for similar work down the road.

Doug was a real professional. He came to my home and gave me a quote for services and then once services were agreed upon he followed up with a phone call the day before he came. Customer service was excellent! I would definitely hire This company again! The house looks fantastic!!

    Estimate was spot on!
When the installation of the Trex decking began it became apparent the previous contractor could of (should of ?) done a much better job of securing the ledgers and joists.  The crew spent nearly half a day making sure it was done right. Not until all of the structural concerns were addressed did the installation of the Trex material began again. Considering that Trex material had been sitting uncovered for 10+ yrs. (much had become weathered and warped) I believe the crew did an outstanding job!
When deck work was completed to everyone's satisfaction a quick power wash of the roof was done with the funds still remaining on deposit.
Everyone involved was very professional and sincere about the work they were doing (definitely not looking to make a quick buck).
Dave Lane Home Improvement will back this fall/winter to beef up our attic insulation. I will continue to seek their services first for all of my home improvement concerns and needs.

    Etinde Painting

My experience with Etinde painting was horrible. Before the job started I did some research on-line, but found very few reviews. The one or two I found were negative. When I confronted Dido Etinde (the owner) asking about it, he said that not all jobs go great, you can't satisfy everyone (dead giveaway that you intend to satisfy no one), and some people are trying to destroy his business, but most customers are happy and my job would be done to my satisfaction. I bought it HUGE mistake.

The job was to paint the interior of my house including walls, ceilings, moldings, doors, closets etc. We agreed on $9,500 and it was to be completed in 3 weeks, by January 1st, 2014 while we were away on vacation. I insisted on the highest standard of wall repair and finish, and spent a lot of time with Dido going over what was and wasn't acceptable. He indicated that he understood and would make sure everything was done right.

When my wife and I came back from vacation on January 2nd we found the place partially painted, with multiple quality issues and damage to the house. Our recently installed hardwood floors were burned in 5 places by halogen lights and severely scratched by their equipment. The windows' wooden frames were painted shut and many of them broke or cracked upon opening (had to be cut open). The crew also damaged a ceiling fan. In the bathroom, the plastic tub and the toilet seat also had fresh, deep scratches. Finally the woodwork and walls they worked on were damaged by rework and carelessness often beyond repair. They applied clear polyurethane right over the smudges of compound and paint, making them permanent.

The quality of work was amateurish at best. The walls had multiple unrepaired or very poorly repaired spots. After we'd point them out, they would try to fix them, with varying level of success. Sometimes it took 4 attempts and it still was not right. As I later found out from one of the employees, Dido trains his people to cut corners and do things fast. They paint first and then see if it looks good enough. Having to point out problems is exhausting, and them redoing things of course takes time and money. As soon as they started losing money on the project, all the interest in doing it right, or even completing the job, went out the window.

All along Dido was absent from the work site. He would pop in for a second to see the progress. At some point he left for Congo, where he apparently has other businesses that he runs in that country. The job was never completed. I was finally forced to hire other people to do the garage, basement and the hallway that were never touched by Etinde Painting, and to correct and finish the rest of the house. The total sum paid by me out of pocket to clean up the mess that Etinde left behind was over $7,000. When I confronted him asking to cover some or all of the losses, the answer I got was: I'm not paying you a dime. Of course I didn't see a dime to cover the damage to my house either.

I think Etinde Painting is a predatory business, taking advantage of consumers by using false statements, empty promises, or blatant lies. Dido bids below what he can do the job for (later admitting he did so because he knew he wouldn't get the job otherwise). Then he jacks up the price, extends the time-line and compromises on quality. Etinde Painting is NOT a registered Home Improvement Contractor, which violates Mass GL 142A, since they advertise and perform multiple types of work (carpentry, floor refinishing, wall repair, exterior painting), not just interior painting, which is exempt from the registration requirement (but still there are plenty of painters who are registered). It is a good idea to hire only registered HIC businesses, because in case you run into issues, there are means of dealing with them and holding them accountable. There is a complaint system, an arbitration process conducted by a qualified person, pool of money that will cover whatever the business owes you etc.

Not getting involved with unreliable, shady companies like Etinde Paining is, of course, the best way to avoid problems. You don't want to find yourself in a situation I was in paying $7,000 out of pocket to fix/finish a job that was over 90% paid for once already, and having to live with all the damage they left behind. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!

    EMC Masonry
The crew showed up exactly on time, Eric, the owner and head man, was polite and cooperative, and extremely professional. He is completely straight forward and explains everything in detail. He is willing to listen to and answer questions and was never dodgy or elusive.
The crew of 3 men went right to work and got most of the job done on the first day. On the second day he finished, cleaned up very thoroughly and was gone before noon.
The thing I liked the most was Ericand quot;s extra attention to detail. Because this chimney went up through my new roof, I was very worried about l leaks. Eric did a super job of re-flashing the chimney, in fact, he told me that he corrected 2 small weak spots that the roofers had missed. I felt very confident about the superior quality of the work.
These guys do it right, I give them my highest rating.
