    The move went very well and I was pleased with the service. The service reps were very prompt and thorough in preparing and coordinating the move. The movers were very courteous, friendly,, prompt...and quite careful with my belongings. They even put together my dining room table and headboard in the bedroom. I would definitely use them again if I have a need in the future. NOTE: I moved out of my home Oct. 19, then did not move into the new place until Oct. 22. The cost included three nights of storage on the moving truck.

    The move went well, the best cross-country move we've had yet. They came to my home and gave me an estimate, which turned out to be almost exactly right. their prices were neither the highest nor the lowest, but reasonably fair. The movers were professional, full time employees, wore basic uniforms, and were very respectful. The ones who packed our china and crystal had a lot of experience and training doing it. And all of our china, crystal, dinner plates, etc made it through the move intact. We had two days of packing/moving due to the large amount of stuff in our house and the amount of packing help we asked for. The first day one of the movers packed something he shouldn't have (the baby monitor), and when I called that night, they tried to help me find it over the phone, and the next morning they unpacked boxes till they found it, so I was satisfied by that. We only had one breakage, an old TV, and thanks to the insurance they promptly gave us a check for the replacement amount. We had to send them photos of the TV and the carton, and they originally said we needed to have someone come look at it, but after the photos they just sent us a check. Not too bad, considering our other three long distance moves all had several items of furniture broken. We had them move a pinball machine, (with my husband doing some meticulous research), and it came through fine. They were also reasonably responsive to my many calls leading up to the move and ended up giving us two estimates because I forgot about a storage unit we had. So, all in all, a decent move. The only thing I really didn't like was that at the destination we only had the same driver, the unloading labor was a different Mayflower moving company's employees. But these guys were nice too, also professionals and not day labor, and they did a decent job. My house did not get dinged up. Overall this was a good move.

    Nick and the team at Bell Air Moving were great.  Nick and I chatted on the phone a few times before our move and was very helpful.
    We needed someone to move our big furniture items and heavy boxes, and Bell Air did a great job.  It actually took less time than expected - they were *almost* too efficient!

    From the beginning the men were professional, courteous, and considering they were on the clock, did not dawdle at all. They wrapped our furniture professionally and delivered it timely professionally and were just great.We have used two other movers when moving greater distances and were extremely disatisfied with the other moves.
    DN Van lines was GREAT and I would use them again in a heartbeat!!!!!!!!

    2 employees from Ayer M&S  walked through our home and gave us an estimate of how long the move would take and how many men needed.  The original quote was 3 men for 6 hours.  I explained that I needed to be out of the home that day as we were closing on it.  I did reply back that I only had enough funding for 5 hours.   As time went on we had morethings to move and I communicated this to Tim on 6/20.
    Arrival: The crew
    arrived 1 hour late. I had filled the garage with all of the boxes that I wanted them to put on the truck and instructed them to move all of the large items on the truck and all of the boxes, totes, bags in the garage.  We had
    some trash bags full of clothes and other things in the garage, maybe another filled with
    yard toys.  At no time during the loading process did any of the movers indicate that the trash bags were an issue when
    loading the truck.  We made many trips in our own vehicles during the move process and would have been able to take any
    trash bags that would have been an issue. It was during the load in process that I realized the crew had no experience moving as they has already dropped several boxes and broken a glass lamp by tripping over it in the truck.  When 12:00pm came around they had the truck packed with only half of the items and there was a lot of empty space on the truck, but the driver said that he would come back for a second load. 
    Incompetent employees/management:  The crew members stated that is was too hot and they wanted to go home early and it is my belief that they purposely did not take all of the items in the first load as they thought was would just cut
    them loose and they could go home early that day.  The crew did not measure any doors, had no knowledge of how to use a tape measure or angle furniture through doorways to make it fit.  I had to coach them on how to do that. The crew members arrived to the job with no food or water on a very hot day.  I went out to buy them water so that they would not dehydrate.  It was not until the job was past 5 hours that a supervisor from their company came to bring them something to drink. When the 5 hours were up Ayer Moving and storage called and tried to remove the crew even though they had only completed 40% of the job that was estimated and book.  The time was completed, but not the amount of work that was agreed upon being completed.  I argued with the company to have the crew stay until completion.  The entire job took the crew 10.5 hours. Keep in mind that there was Kate (my Wife), my brother and myself, who were constantly making trips back and forth, and the three movers so 6 people total and the move was only
    approx.  1 mile away and it took 10.5 hours vs the estimated 6 that Ayer M&S quoted.
    Damages: because
    of no knowledge of how to lift heavy furniture, pack a truck properly, use a tape measure or follow instructions several items were damaged.  The list of items include; 2 glass bowls, 2 wine glasses, a butter dish, scuff marks and severe gouges on doorways, broken lamp, damaged 300 lb desk, damages oak dining table, gouges on new hardwood floor, tear in couch fabric.  I have
    pictures of damage and I personally walked their rep Tim through my home to show damages.  The only thing they said they
    would pay for was $90.00 for the desk (I?m not sure how they came to that number).  The other damages they said in writing that we should have the builder of our house fix, but originally told me a man named ?Phil? would fix them. No one ever came over.
    Added time:  I asked them to reimburse me for the extra time that the move took due to lack of experience, extra breaks, and not packing the truck full on the first run.  Their response was that; ?it was hot that day, they have been super busy and short staffed, we had trash bags full of items which caused damages because they stacked things on top of them.  So because of this they would not pay me any money back.

    The movers sent to my place were very friendly and respectful, and did their job efficiently - the two men worked well together. At the last minute (a couple of days in advance) I requested a special stop (a bit out of the way) to pick up large appliance (fridge) from retailer, and they happily agreed. This ended up not taking more than additional 45 minutes so did not affect the end cost significantly at all. They were also presented with logistical challenges getting my queen bed up the narrow stairs and my new fridge in the front door - both were situations that could have gotten me a little panicky (I don't deal with moving very well!) but the movers were very calm and quietly confident - I didn't even realize there were challenges until they had already been resolved! These guys saved my sanity, and if I ever move again I will use them for sure.

    Very negative experience overall. At least the truck didn't come late. It just showed up 45 minutes early! Because of this I was not fully prepared, and they were forced to pack some of my items. I didn't have a problem with this until I later found out we were charged $24 for a box which contained a single blanket. This was repeated as we were charged for a few $6 boxes which contained one single item such as a small stereo speaker. When we reached the basement the workers seemed more intent on looking through my junk pile I had for disposal rather than moving the items I actually wanted. They took 30 minute asking questions about various items, and if they could keep them. In the end I was billed $1,100 for a job I was told would cost $600. The billing procedure was very vague and went by two different standards. When we called to try to figure out the bill it took multiple calls, and after much hassle we got $100 taken off the bill. Never would recommend them to anyone!
