    PLM Home Improvement
I Met Pete Medeiros (owner) of PLM Home improvement when he came to my home in Attleboro to see my basement that I wanted to finish. I liked Pete right from the beginning. He was very personal and very helpful to the type of ideas I had regarding the basement. I know nothing about construction. My wife and I both felt very comfortable talking to him. He gave us ideas and we went back and forth with them. He was very respectful to my wife and I. He was very professional. He took all the information need to give us a quote. He told us that he will get back to us with an estimate. He did just that, and within 1 day, we had a quote. To our satisfaction it was the lowest quote from the other contractors. My wife and I decided to hire him, and boy were we happy with our decision!!...Now, we all know its really hard to find a good reliable contractor. I must say there is a reason why i gave all A's on my review. He satisfied both my wife and I on every aspect. His work is impeccable. I was amaze on how he made my basement look. So I actually hired him AGAIN! This time I hired him to do my 300 linear feet Vinyl fence. once again he had outdone him self. Not only he gave me an excellent price but he did a tremendous job. He went above and beyond to make sure the fence was install properly considering the area where the fence was going to be installed. We had a lot of areas where water was an issue. Of course Pete knew what to do. I like that about him he knows how to fix anything. I defiantly recommend PLM home improvements. I will definitely hire Pete again!

    Solar Wolf Energy
I requested and received quotes from several installers ( From EnergySage.com) for a solar panel system with LG panels When we had Solar Wolf come out for a site visit they wanted to substitute a cheaper panel and charge us the same money even though we decided to go with a smaller system with eight fewer panels. We rebid the job and found another installer to install the original 48 LG panels and still paid $10,000 less than what Solar Wolf wanted. We actually found several installers that were much cheaper. It pays to shop around and do your homework.

    Northern Lights Electric Inc
Initially, I thought that I would interact with a large company who were competent, but fairly impersonal. I was so totally wrong! JT came to my home, early. He was more than competent, he was thorough and knowledgeable. Moreover, he was exceedingly kind pleasant and thoughtful. He completed the work, which was flawless. When he was done, except for the ceiling fans being in place and working perfectly, you wouldn't know he had been there. The three rooms were immaculate! He finished in less time than expected and the cost was well below the estimate. Kudos to Northern Electric and many thanks to JT!

    Northern Lights Electric Inc
I've used Northern Lights now for two projects at my home in Attleboro. They installed kitchen lights for me and replaced old electrical sockets. Their electricians are friendly and efficient. They cleanup after themselves too! I've had contractors drag mud through my house before and leave behind sawdust and other materials. This isnt the case with Northern Lights. I will definitely use them again.

    GMB ELECTRICAL SERVICE, INC
GMB was easy to work with, responsive, and thorough with the work. They also came after hours and on a weekend when they were overbooked and didn't charge extra because of it. Will absolutely use again the next time an electrician is needed.

    Sila
It didn't. I signed up for the Angie's List deal with Sila. Made an appointment with Griffin. They did not show up for the appointment (after I took the time off from work to be home). When I called to find out why they did not show up, Mark said he had to check with the Electric scheduler and then minutes later told me that they "had me down for the following week". I had marked the date and time in several places after confirming with Griffin and scheduled the day off to be here on my work calendar. I also sent Griffin an email confirming the date and time, and confirming the phone numbers I could be reached at. The date they told me it had been scheduled for I would not even have been available to be at home, so I definitely did not schedule it for that date. After several attempts to find a new date, we finally settled on today (01/25/17) to do the work. Appointment was for 7:00AM. At 7:30AM when no one had shown up (again) I called Sila, and Mark told me that someone had reached out to me (at some indefinite time at some indefinite phone number, he couldn't tell me which number or when - and there were no messages on my home or cell phone) to tell me that the electrician had to attend an "emergency safety seminar" today and would not be here today. Who schedules an emergency seminar??? Seminars are set up weeks in advance, you do not have an "emergency seminar", and you do not leave your customers waiting because you say you did. I think the alleged wrong date on the first visit and the "emergency seminar" on the second visit were both made up to cover the missed appointments. I am very disappointed in these people and their complete and utter disregard for the value of their customers' time. I will say, I feel sorry for Mark who has to keep passing along these lame excuses to the customers. I suspect that there will be all kinds of excuses and covering up for this total lack of service and professionalism.... but I would like to see some proof to back these excuses up. Some info on the seminar, when and where it was scheduled and a list of who was required to attend. A phone record showing the call when someone tried to reach out to me to let me know they weren't going to be there. Some record of the mis-scheduled first visit (and why someone there thinks I agreed to a date when I knew I wouldn't be here). Someone at Sila should just own up to the fact that they blew off the appointments, or start to offer some evidence that they did not, because I do not believe either story I got from Mark (as I said, I feel sorry for him, but he was not very convincing either time when offering the excuse for the missed appointment). If Sila does not feel that these Angie's list deals are a priority for them because of the bargain pricing, then they should stop offering them. If it is Sila's way of reaching out to potential new customers, then this is going to have a direct and far greater opposite effect on their attempts to build a customer base. BTW, I waited 2 hours to send this review because Mark told me that someone would call me when they got in at 8:30AM this morning... but no one has called. Not surprised at this point, so I am submitting this review after all.... there should be some consequences for wasting other people's time and money.

We met with Mike - he was super knowledgeable and super professional - we liked him a lot.  The first visit was not pushy, so we figured they must have a great product that they don't need to oversell - it'll sell itself.  They sent out the crew to measure the sun exposure of the roof, take measurements, etc. and Mike called to schedule a followup appt.  He seemed in a hurry to get back - he claimed it was because he was 'in the area' and might not get back for months if he didn't come back soon.  I would have preferred to get competitive bids, but knew there wasn't enough time before Mike came back, so we went with it.  The return visit was great - the only thing we were a bit unhappy with was the fact that they ran our credit on visit #1, and somehow when they came back we couldn't afford to get both a new roof and 100% solar replacement on the amount they wanted to finance us for.  We were starting to think that they would have maxed us out regardless of what we financed for, so we started to get a bit leery.  At the end of the proposal, Mike gave us the typical cheesy line "If you sign up now, I can get you a great discount, but only if you sign tonight.  After that, the offer's no longer valid."  That was all I had to hear.  We politely told Mike we weren't going to fall for the hard sell, and that we felt he was trying to push us into making an uninformed decision.  I felt kinda bad for the guy - he was obviously very knowledgeable, and I really liked him - he wasn't your typical cheesy sales guy - I've met several.  I felt like he was forced to make the cheesy hard sell by the company, whereas if he had told us on the 1st visit that he'd later have to give us the cheesy offer on the 2nd, and allowed us to get competitive bids, we may have gone for it.  The fact that they used that tactic meant to me that their prices weren't that competitive.  Oh, and after they told us we needed a new roof, and in the next year or so, we called in a roofing contractor who replaced our ridge shingles for $450 and told us we had 6-8 years left on our roof.  I can't say they were terrible - they may even have been ballpark reasonable, but I will never buy from someone who uses the high pressure sales tactic, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone either.  If you've gotten competitive bids, I'd say it couldn't hurt to call them in for theirs, but I wouldn't recommend them being your 1st or only proposal.

As noted above, despite working on an extremely hot day, the 3 workmen were professional at all times.  I had made an error in expecting them the next day and was on my way out when I saw the truck.  I was shown the work order and the young supervisor offered to wait till another day if I'd like to reschedule.  I had no problem having the work done on the scheduled day.  MY responsibility had been to ensure that all of the contents of the attic be covered prior to the work day.  Luckily, this had been completed the previous day.
A test for air flow/leakage was performed before work began. I was informed that the work would be completed by 2:30. Then, the 3 young men went about their work with understandable breaks throughout the morning. They were not at all noisy and were efficient.
And, with only the final test to be performed, the work was completed by 2:30!
I would definitely hire this group again.
