    Restorers Without Borders
I had a very nice experience with the team from Restorers Without Borders. They paid a safe, socially distant visit to my building to see and assess the table damage and were able to give me a price range on the spot. They were very thorough with their information and are knowledgeable about a wide range of kinds of furniture. They had a team there to take my table away on the spot, and turned the job around more quickly than we expected. They delivered, reassembled the table, and helped me move my ad-hoc desk back into my storage space; we all wore masks and stayed as socially distant as able. They also took their shoes off as I requested when they came into my condo to set up the table. This is an old table, and they have truly revitalized it and given me back a “table for life.” They weren’t cheap, but the work is high quality and I’d definitely hire them again.

Mike does an excellent job at great price. Recently our water heater broke and there was some water that got under the flooring he installed. He was helpful at undoing the trim and lifting up the floor so it could dry out and then putting it back so it looked like we never took it apart. It looks fantastic.

    Bonded Lock Service Inc
Gordon is one of the most impressive service professionals we've had the privilege of working with. His knowledge of antique & modern doorknobs, lock systems, and overall approach is unparalleled. His skillset and expertise is incredible. Beyond that, he was on time, consistently provided updates on timing, and finished the job in a timely manner. He walked us through the details of each change and provided options and let us know the impact of each decision. I would highly recommend Gordon for any door/lock need, especially if you have older doors or even new ones. Thanks, Gordon!

BURMA DESIGN ANTIQUE RESTORATION & CONSERVATION
Our conversation and visit with Matt with the tea table in tow went very well. He is very knowledgable and pleasant to work with. I felt comfortable that he would restore the table the way we wanted without stripping off all the finish. The work is being done now so you will need to ask me again when I have the finished product.

Joe Valone is - to say the least - amazing. My furniture needed complete redo - from the springs to the wood. And I am totally overwhelmed at the beautiful job he did! I had the furniture redone 33 years ago by a business that I thoroughly checked out. Joe did a much better job this time. He is personable, very knowledgeable, and the quality of work is fantastic. He also had a wide variety of upholstery samples so I could choose a more modern design. When my furniture was delivered I had a chance to meet the craftsman who stripped and redid my furniture. Not an easy job when the sofa has wings, cornucopias, fruit, paws, swirls, and grooved areas. Joe was so engaging that he kept me appraised of the progress by sending photos of my furniture at various stages. When he had a choice regarding gimp ribbon trim, he sent me photos so I could make the choice. I felt involved in this whole process. I was so impressed that I gave them an antique child's rocker that i had taken apart and stripped decades ago - before I realized that I really didn't want to ruin the piece. The rocker is fantastic! The price for this work was high - but I gladly paid for the expertise and skill. I got what I paid for - and then some.

    Restorers Without Borders
The question is "How did it go?" and the answer is; perfectly in every way! Restorer's Without Borders had already restored many pieces of furniture for us and we decided, in the midst of a whole house renovation, to have all of our remaining antique furniture restored and reupholstered. It was easily the best decision and most satisfying result of the entire project. Jeff , Afonso and their craftsmen produced results beyond our expectations in quality of workmanship and care of their customer. Each piece was done to enhance the appearance and functionality. We have a home full of beautiful furniture that is fully usable for the purpose it was built for nearly a hundred years ago and will get to enjoy it for the rest of our lives! All of these items are family heirlooms. None of them had been touched for three generations. I believe they probably look better and are more structurally sound now then the day they were originally built. You can't ask for more than that.

    Restorers Without Borders
Restorers without Borders did an excellent job restoring our antique desk. They repaired a broken knob on one of the legs and replaced a panel that was missing since before we acquired the piece. Finish was just what we asked for in color. We will definitely use them again.

    Restorers Without Borders
Restorers Without Borders was excellent in all regards. Very knowledgeable experts, excellent guidance, superb workmanship, careful attention to detail. I trusted them with a one-of-a-kind family piece and I’m thrilled with the results! They were also a pleasure to work with at every step in the process — always polite and professional, always listened to my opinions, and always met me at the right level when explaining the various options. I have nothing but good things to say.

WAYNE TOWLE: MASTER FINISHING & RESTORATION INC
For the first round I needed several pieces of furniture refinished/repaired because of scratches. One they repaired in my home and did a good job. Two they took to their shop and I didn't hear from them for a very long time. After complaints we agreed on a date when it was absolutely essential for them to get the key piece for my living room back because I had visitors coming. When that date arrived nobody showed. They brought it back later. They were very expensive but the quality of work was good. Then, in February 2020, I sent them another piece, an end table from a bedroom. It had a scratch on the plain black top surface. They just needed to repaint the white scratch on the black surface. Now it's August, half a year later. I haven't heard from them. When I email them and ask for my end table back, I get no reply.

    Second Life
Second Life did a beautiful job on this table. I had partially stripped off the old finish before realizing that a good job was beyond my expertise. Joe picked up and delivered the table to our home. It's gorgeous. (I didn't rate the price because I don't know what other refinishers would charge.)
