I have never been anything but FULLY PLEASED and delighted with the work done by Tom Curren Companies! They are a pleasure to work with, and their work is excellent. They start and end on time, and keep the lines of communication open. Only once in 15+ years did a job cost more than the estimate, and that was due to unforeseen complications. I recommend them without hesitation.

All of the work was completed neatly and professionally, and was of top quality. The garage doors are exactly what I had hoped for. Nobody else I could find around here would even consider making carriage-house style doors! Tom Curran's people stayed in close contact with me throughout the work, to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. The repair of the water damage and repainting in the mud room matches the rest of the room perfectly. The new threshold for the side door is better and stronger than the original one ever was, and the repaired and re-painted fence is also perfect. Everyone assigned to these projects worked together well as a team and were a pleasure for me to get to know.

They seemed fine for the initial part of the process, responding promptly when I called them. (Though they did not mention they change more for Saturdays.) They removed the damaged sections, found the source of the leak and got a plumber to fix it immediately. They set up dehumifiers to dry out the wood, though they were a bit careless about how they hung the plastic sheeting. They were very pushy about getting me to sign releases for talking to my insurance company and for accepting charges, as well as for trying to schedule the reconstruction work as quickly as possible. However, they were not great at communicating what work was going to be done, when they wanted to do it, and how much they would charge me. Getting a description of the work and an estimate of its cost took weeks of frustrating back and forth. In general, I got the impression that they did not have my best interests at heart. Ultimately, this led me to hire a different company to do the reconstruction work. (As an example, I got a call one morning from Phillip telling me a plasterer would be arriving from Rhode island in an hour. At that point, I was still waiting for an estimate and a description of the work, and had not agreed to let them proceed. When I tried to explain this to Phillip, he tried to convince me to let the plasterer do the work anyway, since he was already on his way. And even after telling Phillip to reschedule, I also had to turn the plasterer away when he showed up, because apparently Phillip did not call him to tell him I would not let him do any work.) As far as pricing, they seemed to have the attitude that the insurance company would reimburse them, so the price shouldn't matter to me. If I had let them do the work, however, they would have charged thousands of dollars more than the contractor I actually hired for the reconstruction. Overall, about B+ for the water damage remediation, D for the the reconstruction followup.

A 125-year old cast-iron drain stack behind a vertical wooden chase developed a small crack and slow leak, causing water and mold damage inside the wooden chase and to the surrounding plaster walls and ceiling. Erick and his team opened up the wall and chase, brought in a plumber to replace the cracked section of pipe, did the necessary drying out and mold remediation, and then repaired the plaster walls and ceiling.  We did not use them for the carpentry repair, since we wanted to use a specialist to match the historical details in our home.  Erick and his team were prompt and professional, and easy to communicate with.  We were very happy with almost every aspect of the work, and we would definitely call them again if we ever had a water leak problem.  Our only negative comment is that the plumbing subcontractor only replaced the section of pipe that was cracked, but left untouched an adjacent section of pipe which was also very weak (but had not cracked yet).  We subsequently had that replaced ourselves when arranging for the carpentry repair, but it would have been better to deal with it at the time of the original plumbing work.

They showed up an hour early, which worked out OK, but was a surprise. We were looking for an explanation for some water damage. They identified a cracked shingle or two, and replaced them. We had a good discussion of other possibilities for the damage, and decided to wait on additional action until we see if today's repair addresses the problem.

Bathroom 1 just needed some small repairs and touch up paint. Bathroom 2 needed new bead board for 1 wall, patch on ceiling, and new molding around window plus painting. Family room had water damage to small area of the ceiling and wall, removed old sheet rock and re-plastered wall and painted. Kitchen had small water mark in ceiling, just repainted. Closet had water damage and removed old sheet rock and re plastered wall and painted.
Most rooms went fine, first day was all repair and re plastering no painting, bead board in bathroom 2 did not match, they came back the next day to replace, they also had to cut a long piece of molding but never fixed the seam, i did that myself. Impressed that they matched the pattern on the ceiling in the family room. Closet was good, just a closet.
Day 2 was painting, thought they'd breeze right through it but the site manager for the day dropped off 2 employees and they were not the quickest, didn't even get the bathroom 2 wall painting. Total painting they had was
Kitchen - 1 coat on the ceiling
Family room - 2 coats on 1 wall, 1 coat on the ceiling
Closet - 2 coats small closet
Bathroom 1 - trim touch up around window
Bathroom 2 - paint trim and bead board on 1 wall (same color), 2 coats on celing
Came back day 3 to finish bathroom 2

John came out to our house to review some water damaged caused by ice damns.  A different company came out and told us that our walls and ceiling was completely wet and needed to ripped apart (~$10K of work).  John inspected the areas and used moisture detectors to recommend against doing work.  He spent time with us and answered all of our questions even though no work was coming from it.  John recommended an independent air test to resolve the difference of opinion between the contractors.  The air test proved that John was correct.  He basically saved us from ripping our house apart.  He was honest, responsive and prompt.  I would definitely call ProRestoration in the future.

Wes at S&W Tile was fantastic. I left an initial voicemail with him on a Friday morning, and he called me back within 45 minutes.  We arranged for him to meet me at my house at noon on that very same day.  He came and gave a full explanation of our tile situation (substantial leaking from our shower on the third floor to the bedroom below it on the second floor).  He explained why the tile had failed, what was necessary in order to correct the situation, gave a review of various options, and gave us a detailed quote.  We signed a work order with him on the spot and he came with his crew eight days later to start and complete the work - on the same day.  He and his team were professional, highly competent, friendly, and they listened to all of our thoughts and concerns.  They did an exceptional job with the tile installation - there are no leaks anymore.  The job was completed in one day, and only eight days elapsed from our initial contact to the job being done.  This is the company to engage for any tiling job in your house.  Do not waste time with any other company or contractor.  They will get the job done at a fair price, and are very accommodating and respectful.

We had water leak into our house from a faulty roof. They repaired all of the damage in two rooms. All of the contractors that were working on the job were all very professional and accomodating. I would defintely recommend them to anyone!

I had a water leak from a dishwasher in the kitchen which leaked for about 5 days filling the ceiling below with water. Since I had no reason to go into the basement, I did not discover it immediately and the basement was flooded and the cabinets were all saturated with water. I cleaned up the water as best I could but everything was wet and damp. I called servo pro a few days after I cleaned up the mess as it was still damp and getting moldy. They arrived the next day and left 2 large dehumidifiers and 3 blowers to dry out the area.  It was Labor day week end--they only charged me for 3 days instead of the 4 days, and also sprayed for mold and mildew. They were quick, nice, and just great. Wish I had called them immediately.
