    Wainwright's Small Engine Service LLC
Did a great job with the service and the tech was super friendly. Only downside was we were assured we were the first appointment of the day, which apparently meant 11:30 am. It was a super cold day so understandable, but wished they communicated a late start with me. Tech showed up and did an excellent job on both machines. Would absolutely hire them again.

Fixed a few "bells and whistles" on the snowblower and gave advice as to how to winterize the machines. They work fine and blades were good, but I don't think he drained the gas and replaced because it pops now when idling. We may just need to drain and replace with new gas.

Great. They called me the day after I bought the coupon and left a message. We arranged a time for them to come and do the work in my driveway. The repairman showed up when he said he would, did the work they said they would do, and went over it with me. I was very pleased with their service and would highly recommend them, and would certainly hire them again.

    FARINA'S
Needed a snow thrower, so we went to visit Farinas. Mike asked questions about the size of the driveway, the pitch, the geometry, and gave us advise on the specific snow thrower ("that one is too big, this one is too small, so get that one!"). Snow thrower was delivered right on time, service person took time to show me how to use it, and when he noticed a small blemish immediately offered to replace with a another new snow thrower. All in all very happy with their service and that they took responsibility to make sure I get a perfectly shiny new snow thrower. I was a frequent customer of their bike shop for many years and very glad to be their customer again.

    Tom's Small Engine Repair
I called about my gasoline lawn mower not starting when I tried it the first time this year. I thought the problem would be the result of improper storage over the winter, that is, a gummed up carburetor from unstabilized gas left in the tank. Tom arrived at my house the next day when he said he would. After he did a thorough job of cleaning things up, it still wouldn't start. After eliminating bad fuel as a possibility, it came down to the carburetor. Seemed like it needed to be replaced. He took the lawn mower and would find a replacement part and get it running before returning it. The next day he called and said that he had taken the carburetor apart and found a corroded jet, for which he had a replacement on hand. The mower was back the next day and ran fine without the expense of a new carburetor. All my interactions with Tom were very pleasant and professional. He was responsive and punctual and kept in communication. Despite putting in a lot more work than I had initially thought would be needed, his price was more than reasonable. I couldn't have asked for me.

Very professional guys who were in and out in less than 30 min.  I was told that they would show up in the morning and they didn't arrive until lunchtime which was my only major gripe.  All in all, I'll use these guys again.

Does someone with 87 positive reviews really need an 88-th?  I don't know and I don't care. They're getting one because they deserve it.
I have a single stage Toro with electric start.  This is its 5-th winter without having been serviced and it began stopping after 15 minutes and then losing its oomph.  The two-stage AIrens (also electric start) is only in its second winter.  I believe the Toro was showing me the importance of preventive maintenance.  Checked Angie's List.  Found Wainwright Small Engines with 80+ positive reviews.  Gave them a call.  Both were serviced in my driveway.  I got a lot of hints about how to keep them running better.  When this last snow storm came they both started up and ran as good as new.  Actually, they start BETTER than new.
I plan on calling them every year before snow season hits, at least for the Airens.

    Minute Man Repair
I bought my refurbished Troy-Built 24" snow blower from the vendor for $450 in 2012.  I did not use it the first season due to no snow.  In 2013, I used the machine once - had difficulty but chalked it up to my inexperience with the new machine.  This season, I had the snow blower picked up for the vendor's tune-up special ($89).  The mechanic said that the carburator had to be rebuilt due to gasoline left in the tank.  During our first snowstorm in early December, the machine kept sputtering and stalling.  I called the owner (Eddie) who came out to look at the machine.  I was not present, but his wife left a message saying the snow blower was stalling due to no gasoline -- it was bone dry.  I filled the tank with new gasoline, and again the engine would not turn over.  I also noticed that gasoline was leaking from the carburator (it stopped when I closed the gas line).  In addition, the starter was loose and hanging down.  When I held it with my hand, the engine turned over for a little while.  It would not run without sputtering, and there was very little power for the tiller to turn or for the machine to move forward when put into drive.  I called the vendor but the phone's answering machine did not pick up.  During this latest snowstorm, I hired someone to move the snow from the end of my driveway, and then I drove to the repair shop and found it closed.  There were two signs -- "Out due to back injury, sorry" and "Closed during snowy conditions."  I am beyond frustration.  I am still responsible for removing the snow from the sidewalk -- a corner where the town's plows drop heavy snow as they make their turn.  I am 59 years old and also suffer from sciatica.  I said I would use them again because I expect the owner to live up to his reputation.  I don't believe this service is typical, and the machine I purchased may be "tempermental."   Eddie and his wife are long-time business owners, and will hopefully rectify this situation quickly.

    Minute Man Repair
Minute Man was incredibly helpful in choosing a new mower that was appropriate for my lawn and needs, delivering it, and showing me how to use it. I would recommend them for new purchases and, based on their knowledgeable advice, would trust them to make repairs as well.

Very professional, prompt, courteous. Excellent service -- they picked mower up at my home, returned it fully serviced a few days later. The price is a bit higher than expected, but the service was so good I would definitely go back nonetheless.
