AIdeal Movers & Storage IncIdeal's services could not have been better. They showed up promptly, worked fast and completed our move in one day. The men moved furniture carefully without any damage, and moved some very heavy items, and they were friendly and super helpful even in the hot and humid weather conditions. We will use them again.- DAVID D.

FFIVE COLLEGE MOVERS LLCAnother dissatisfied customer. I hired FCM after getting three quotes. I liked that they actually came in person for the estimate. I was quoted $2000 for the move, and 179/hr for packing the day before. I've used movers in the past so I had an expectation of how fast they should work. Three college kids showed up and packed for 8 hours ($1800), which was way beyond what I figured it would take. The next day (moving day) was a complete disaster. Despite coming to the house twice (once for the estimate and once to pack), they managed to completely misjudge the amount of things to move so they needed another mover and truck. The estimate was for 8 hours. They took 16 hours (plus extra mover and truck for 11 hours) and demanded payment of $6800 upon completion. Yes, that's over three times the estimate. I refused to pay and they eventually left (around midnight). A few days later they send the invoice, which has magically reduced to $4900. That is still over double the estimate. Look, I could understand if it went over by a few hours, but this is ridiculous. They could not tell me what went wrong with the move. When I kept asking why it took so long, they said there must have been trash there, or something changed since the estimate. Nothing changed, and they refused to take trash on the truck. This being 4th of July weekend, my lawyer was on vacation. I needed at least another day to hear back from him over what I should be reasonably expected to pay. That's when they threatened to "find a way to make this a BIG problem for me". I wish this had a happy ending, but it doesn't. The lawyer got back to me and said I should go to small claims court, which would drag it out over several months. Otherwise settle on a price. They took another $600 off and I payed. Now that I'm unpacking, I see what went wrong. I just opened a box with watermelon sized balls of packing paper, each containing a single drink coaster. Are you kidding me. That's why there were so many boxes and so much time wasted. These college kids wasted all day between my two properties, running up the bill. Skip the headache, hire professionals.- Ken D.

AFOUR GUYS AND A BIG TRUCKIn the end, all went well. I changed the timing of the job in the last minute and that was accommodated, so I was very pleased with that. During the job there was some hesitation by one of the movers when the job was bigger than anticipated, or at least what he had been told by his dispatcher. They resolved the problem by sending over another guy who took over. The truck was loaded reasonably well and there was no damage to any of my belongings.- Betsy V.

DRoger Sitterly & Son IncWe were moving from MA to MD with relatively short notice. One Mr. U. visited our house to give a quote. He promised a quote by a certain time, and then we didn't hear back. Eventually, he sends the quote, stating, "Sorry to be late with it, too busy. Let me know what your decision is.". The quote indicated a packing date of 8/6, but a delivery date "8/7 to 8/12". That didn't make sense because we were moving 400 miles - not 4000. We called back to clarify/discuss. We managed to get through to speak with him once - remember, he is very busy - he said he would get back. No reply. He simply disappeared. Maybe he left his job. Maybe not. Who knows? We lucked out as we ended up with an alternative movers who were not only simply wonderful, but also cost about 25% less. So I suppose, Thank you, Mr. U. for the no-show.- Qiao K.

AFIVE COLLEGE MOVERS LLCThe guys were very prompt. Both of them were very personable and got to work right away. They did a great job wrapping the furniture and getting all my things into their truck without a scratch. All in all the move took about 5 hours or so, and the price I listed did include a discount. I would highly recommend them to others who are planning a local move in the greater Western Massachusetts area.

AD's Home & MoveWill and Nick were great. They communicated with me prior to the job, showed up on time and did quick and efficient work. Labor of this nature isn't extremely difficult but I did want to point out that Nick and Will were very careful, they were pleasant and they went out of there way to make my life easier (cleaning up after themselves taking recyclables that weren't even in the contract for free etc.) I would recommend D's Home and Move to anyone in need of this type of work!

AD's Home & MoveThey were wonderful right from the initial contact. Anna gave me an estimate on price and time based on a phone conversation and that was precisely how much I paid. On the move date, Nick came with his twin to pack the truck. We have moved many times over the many years, and Nick and his twin are hands down the best set of movers we have had. I think their secret is that because they are twins, they know exactly how to coordinate. Not only were they incredibly efficient, they are also very nice. Whilst driving to Maryand, I was slower than them, and I asked them to slow down so that we could arrive around the same time, and they accommodated me. The move in was just as rapid and efficient. The furniture was assembled perfectly, and boxes kept in each room as I requested.
In summary, they are wonderful - and I am glad we used them.

FReal Deal Van LinesWhen I first spoke to the owner and his wife over the phone, I was impressed with their apparent knowledge and personable style. The owner of the company came to the house and assessed how long the move would take. I scheduled 3 hours of optional pre-move packing help just in case I couldn't get much done myself. A few days before the move, I spoke with the owner's wife on the phone and explained that I had packed all of the items in the house but not in the garage or basement. I asked her if she thought I still needed the 3 hours of pre-move help. She told me that I probably did not need the extra assistance, and that the movers would finish the packing on the day of the move, so on her suggestion, I cancelled the pre-move help. As it turned out, it was a bigger job than they had anticipated. I can understand mis-judging the job, and I felt bad for the movers who were clearly exhausted by the end of the day, but we were shocked that when they exceeded the expected time, the owner of the company blamed us for the situation! He angrily told my husband and me that all of this was our fault, as we did not use them to pre-pack the home. And because it was our fault, they were no longer going to place items in the house, but were only willing to stack things in the garage. The atmosphere became hostile. We were left with a mess in both houses. Every room in the house we were moving from was left in disarray, and the carpets in both houses were filthy. They did not tape parts to many items that were taken apart, and so we could not find things for weeks. I had to hire another moving company to finish moving things out of the old house and place heavy items in the new house. After it was all over and we saw how bad their work really was, I called and asked for a partial refund. I was politely told that I would get a call back, but no one called; they clearly did not want to make the situation right with us. Overall, this was a terrible experience, and I would never recommend this company to anyone.

ACABRINI MOVING SERVICES INCthey were exceptionally efficient and professional. polite and careful. i cannot say enough about how great this company was to work with.
we had a lot of challenges in this interstate move and needed to change move dates 3 times. while they were VERY busy, they accommodated all the changes. we even needed to have the truck held overnight due to closing issues and they managed to free up this team of men for two days rather then the originally contracted one.
additionally, the three men that did the move were excellent! they kept a steady pace all day long and were pleasant and helpful, always making sure they were putting boxes into the rooms we wanted them even when they were not well marked. mom moved into a 55+ community and i saw through the window one of the neighbors address one of the movers. i smiled broadly as he removed his hat to answer her! RESPECTFUL TOO!
mom had been burned by a company in a previous move and was very worried and skeptical of dealing with another company. she was very very happy with this experience.
thank cabrini!!!!
