Green Home Solutions Of Western Mass and Northern Connecticut
We had a water drainage problem in our basement, causing standing water. We cleaned the water up. Then, months later, we detected a musty smell in the basement. We had it tested for mold which showed positive. We called Green Home Solutions as we wanted to take an approach without using synthetic chemicals. Green Home arrived quickly, did the project, and we had our independent tester come back out and the mold was gone! Mike and his crew were great. They were on time and on budget, and great to work with! Mike was always there to answer questions at every point in the process and even checked back with us a month after the service, just to make sure we were happy. Just great service. We would use them again in a heartbeat, and highly recommend them to others.

    Prime Home Services Group, Inc.
Tom and his pest control associate, Mike, were super friendly, thorough, efficient, and communicative. Tom took pains to point out everything he noticed and was very patient answering our questions. I don't know anything about houses so I definitely asked some stupid questions, but not once did he condescend. 10/10 would hire again.

    MassRADON by Aaron Associates LLC
It went very well. In just a week's time since the installation, the radon levels have gone below 1.0 pCi/liter level. They had never breached the 4.0 limit set by EPA but had come close,. Since we spend a lot of time in the basement, and the WHO limits are much lower, we decided to be proactive and install a mitigation system. Rick called me back after I contacted him via email. He came out in-person a few days later to review the layout of our house. He took his time reviewing options for the best path for venting pipe as well as locations for the concrete slab holes. He took my input into consideration and walked me through all our options. Based on the construction of our house, we had two suction points drilled into our concrete slab, a higher powered fan, and we were able to vent it out of our garage attic to avoid an unsightly PVC pipe on the exterior side of our house. They even sealed a few small cracks in the concrete slab to ensure good suction beneath the slab. I had also contacted a nation-wide competitor prior to talking to Rick. The competitor did not do estimates in person. Everything was over the phone based on age/location of house. Also every "addition" was an added charge: second suction point of connection to foundation, upgraded fan, routing the pipe through garage. Each of these added up and MassRADON's price ended up being hundreds of dollars less (even with coupons and discounts the competitors provided). Also because Rick came out in-person for the estimate, I knew exactly how they were going to route the pipe and vent it and power the fan ahead of the installation. Also his quote was a fixed-price and there were no surprise charges. Rick came with two other workers so they were done in just a few hours vs taking all day for a single person. They ran into one or two unforeseen issues with the chosen route but they worked around it. It took them a little longer than expected but that was it. No extra fees. They ended up having an appointment cancellation which meant that the turnaround from them providing an estimate to doing the work was only a single day. Rick told me that right now they have about a week lead time on installation appointments usually. Only negative feedback that I would give is that I would have appreciated a little more clean up in the basement. There was some sand on the floor left over. But overall they did clean up after themselves and it was not a big deal. I'm guessing that if I had noticed before they left, I'm sure they would have taken care of cleaning up more.

    JMR Inspections
Our home inspection went very well. John is full of energy! He works very hard and you can tell he loves what he does. He was very thorough and took the time to explain all of our questions and concerns. He went over everything during inspection, and then again at the end. John made himself available post-inspection via email and phone as questions arose. I received a referral for John from two separate friends that used him as a home inspector when purchasing their homes over the last few years. One item that he found at our house while scooting around on top of the roof turned out to be a pricey fix that helped us in the Purchase and Sale negotiations. We ended up purchasing the house and are very happy. His report has helped us plan for repairs and updates for the future. I will be recommending John to all our friends and family that move to the area.

John was thorough and super professional. The report is fantastic--like a manual for our house. We had a number of follow up questions and John always responded promptly and helpfully. Highly recommend.

    JMR Inspections
John has years of experience and is full of relevant knowledge.  He inspected the house and found some defects.  During inspection, he let me know what he was doing and how it went.  Every time he found an issue, he explained the possible causes and proper way to resolve it.  The comprehensive and professionally written report was delivered on the same day.  In the report John included all the pictures he had taken along with detailed explanation.  He was also responsive by answering all of my questions of the report.  I was 200% satisfied with his service.  Highly recommended!

    Abide Environmental Services
The estimator was very straightforward and professional and gave line item estimates for our options.  The two techs they sent were a bit rough looking, but showed up on-time and knew their stuff. They sealed off the area and used "glove bags" to remove the insulation without releasing any into the environment.  Even though we had neglected to check with the boiler installer as to how much insulation to remove, the techs figured it out; when the boiler was later installed there were no problems. The area was left neat and clean.
If we have the remainder of the pipe insulation removed, we'll certainly use this provider.

    AHEARN Radon Testing
My realtor told me that Ahearn was the best company in the area. I wanted a knowledgable inspector who would give it to me straight. I made an appointment with Ahearn for a home inspection and radon test. Karen who answers the phones in the office was very nice and personable. She even returned my 4am call to the office within 15 minutes. Ultimately the scheduling didn't work out so I didn't have the home inspection. However, after I relayed the recommendation to two other friends, they both had their homes inspected by him and they were both really impressed. Sad I missed out.

    MassRADON by Aaron Associates LLC
I purchased a home in Amherst, MA and was interested in lowering my basement radon levels so my kids could use the space on a regular basis. My radon levels were already low (3.5), but I wanted the piece of mind of getting them even lower. I was able to schedule my initial appointment quickly, and Rick was helpful in planning a radon reduction system that would work for our home. He was very flexible, too, even making a second pre-installation visit because I wanted to change the configuration of the system. On the installation day, Rick and his crew were on time and finished the work on schedule (it took about four hours). The system looks much better and is less obtrusive than I imagined. The price was very competitive, and best of all, we were able to get our radon levels down to 0.7, which is almost as low as ambient air levels!

    Becker Home Inspection Svc
Brad arrived on time and completely prepared. He thoroughly inspected the house from top to bottom and made detailed notes about different areas. After he completed the inspection, he brought me around to all the areas that needed work/maintenance and thoroughly explained what he would recommend, in terms that I could understand. He finished up the paperwork while sitting in the driveway so I was able to take all the information with me that afternoon. He wrote very detailed notes on the paperwork and told me not to hesitate to call him if I had questions about anything.
