  • It went fantastic. I can't say enough good things about Rodolfo & Jose. They arrived promptly at 8:00 A.M each day and worked long days to get the job done. The job itself took 11 days to complete, starting on a Monday and ending on a Saturday. They moved 2 bedrooms worth of furniture into one bedroom and then worked on those 2 empty bedrooms. Part of the cost of the job was a dumpster in our driveway for all of the wall debris. Worked out great for us as we had other items we wanted to get rid of as well. The nature of the job we wanted done is very messy in nature, but Rodolfo & Jose cleaned up at the end of each day. They are great workers who do quality work. They put up plastic barriers in each of the bedrooms to contain the plaster dust. They are very easy to work with and have a definite mindset of satisfying the customer. My wife pointed out a spot in the bathroom that needed to be touched up (outside the scope of our contract) and Jose ended up painting the whole bathroom (at no extra charge). That's basically how the job went. After each bedroom was completed, they moved the furniture back into place. This included reassembling beds, etc... At the end of the job (also outside the scope of the contract), Rodolfo hired a cleaning company to wrap up the job and clean the bedrooms. SInce the job completed, our bedrooms are all very "tight", meaning no drafts, no outside noises, etc... Definitely can feel a difference with the quality work that was done. I'm sure we will save on heating and air conditioning bills in the future. I would hire and/or recommend "Daddy & Junior Painting" again in a heartbeat. They do high quality work for a fair price.

  • Do yourself a favor and hire Bertola Custom Homes. We recently used Bertola to repair extensive water damage caused by ice dams. Bertola needed to repair and paint ceilings and walls throughout our house as well as exterior decks/stairs. We have hired numerous contractors in the 20 years we've owned our house, and I say without hesitation that Joe Bertola is the best. His quotes are fair and rock solid. Anyone who's had work done on their home knows the point in the project where you learn that the contractor quoted one material, but you meant another. You can have what you want as long as you pay a revised and always higher price. That never happens with Joe. The cost never waivered and Joe's favorite expression is "no problem". His crew is highly skilled and hardworking, and they are also the nicest people you'll ever meet. Joe is a talented carpenter with a great aesthetic sense. So, he came up with improvements that cost the same but left each room looking nicer than before the damage occurred . He also worked on a project refinishing our basement about 5 years ago, and guests still marvel at his built in cabinets - and I still thank him every Spring when the basement no longer floods. As you can tell, I can't say enough about him or his work. If he is available, book him as soon as you can.

  • Antoniel is very good and does very professional work. However, some of his workers were sloppy, so we had to have Antoniel come back and clean up a few punch list items. There were some significant paint drips and areas of the trim that did not have enough paint coverage. I would suggest if you use Antoniel you inspect the work in daylight before full payment.

  • I
We are 3/4 of the way done, but I feel very confident about the job. David and his crew are extremely: punctual, careful, fastidious, fast, customer focused/easy to get along with, great communicators (with us, and between each other), and overall very nice people - family owned and staffed.
We have had a lot of work done on our house, outside, over the past 2 years, and this team is by far the best we have ever had working with us. A model of what you hope for with contractors.
David was extremely open as to possible difficult areas, which he was right about, so there have been no surprises.
I knew every day what the game plan was, as well as for the next day, which facilitated planning for blocking off areas from the dogs, moving breakable items, and the like.
Whole house painting, by its nature, is a disruptive process, but this team made it as easy to live through as possible.
In the one or two occasions where we found something small to address, they were on it immediately.
Finally, they know their materials and colors. We picked out the colors - it works best to buy small samples of paint and trial paint every wall in a room - but I took their recommendations on type of paint - all of which panned out extremely well.
I cannot imagine a better quality professional painting crew. They take the time to do it right. No short cuts, just excellence in attention to detail and communication. I recommend them highly.

  • Our experience with Straight Shooters was mixed. Initially they were very responsive and quickly gave us a quote which was mid range. They could perform the job the following week and we really wanted to get this work done quickly so we went with them. There was a big team that came in for two days and nearly finished the job. Two painters came back after our floors were refinished to do touch-ups and fix the poor lines that were cut.
The Pros: They did an excellent job removing the wallpaper. The ceilings look great.
The Cons: They were messy. I found drip marks all over my banister, the lines at the ceilings were cut very poorly. There were many drip marks on the walls. There was paint all over our floors (granted we were getting our floors refinished after they finished painting, however it seemed very disrespectful, this is our home and they didn't even ask if they should cover the floors).
When I approached them regarding our disappointments, they did schedule a time to come back and touch up and finish the work.

  • Let me start by saying these four areas I needed painted were a complete disaster, with peeling paint, cracked horsehair plaster, and some wallboard that had been dented in from moving furniture up and down the stairs.  The bedroom had a very dark blue on the walls and ceiling and the stairwell was, multi colored and had some major cracks in the horsehair as well as some holes where the horsehair fell off.

The transformation that took place over the 5 days was amazing.   After the walls were repaired (holes and cracks) the repaired areas were sanded and then the entire wall/ceiling was primed.  Two coats of paint followed and the results were just stunning to me.

Bob is utterly professional, conscientious and knowledgeable.  He arrived on time, didn't waste time and left a cleaned up work area at the end of day.  Bob is also very friendly and customer oriented.  His finished work is really beautiful to see.  The difference in my home is just remarkable.

I absolutely recommend Bob for any painting or wallpapering job and will certainly have him back in my home to see what else he can transform.

  • That guy is very talented. He does everything. Everything looks so beautiful. If you do not have any idea about your house problems and if somebody tells you what are the problems with your house and gives you options it is brilliant. I did not realize that my attic did not have any insulation. He found that for me. There was another portion of my house where I have not been and he went in there and said there was no heating at all. He does a lot of extra stuff. He is going to come back in the spring to do some other work. I had some others give me an estimate for the same job for $9000 and another person quoted me $5000 and this guy quoted me almost half of that. My trust in him is very high.

  • I called Bill Andreo at the last hour, as another painter had fallen through. My goal was to paint the entire interior of a newly purchased house before we moved in. Bill completely transformed my house, from dark and dismal to clean and fresh. Highly detailed, an expert carpenter and painter, very experienced, trustworthy. The painting and repairs are perfect. He did so many repairs and so much carpentry work - I couldn't list them all. Anything he found, he fixed, with appropriate communication to me. The basement was problematic. I had asked for old dark panelling to be removed to find very poor dry wall construction underneath. We worked a second quote out for the additional work. Even though a surprise, he was ready to fully complete the job. I feel blessed to have found Bill. I highly recommend him. He will be back in the spring to paint my exterior, repair my deck, and replace my roof.

  • Bill was extremely nice and helpful on the phone. He warned me that he's on the more expensive end, especially since he'd have to drive a ways to get to our house, but offered to give me some other names if I'd prefer. I opted to have him give a quote anyhow, but we were stymied by the snowstorms. I called and told him that he didn't have to (nor should he) drive in the bad weather, so he offered to come out the following week. We had a great, affordable quote from someone who I liked already and who could start immediately, so ultimately, I decided against Bill. He was, however, one of the nicest and most honest contractors I've dealt with on the phone.

  • Alberto was great. A really nice guy who worked hard and paid attention to detail. He was extremely prompt and easygoing, too. I called two weeks before Christmas, figuring this would have to wait until January. It's now 12/19 and the work is done! The walls look terrific. He worked a little late both days (around 6 pm), but ended up finishing a three-day job in two days. He also happily used low-VOC paints even though I forgot to request it until the first day of the job. He was also very considerate throughout, even trying to be extra quiet while my toddler napped. The second day, he had a helper who didn't speak much (any?) English -- but Alberto made sure he knew to be quiet during nap time too. The only complaint I could possibly have is that the clean-up wasn't perfect...but it was still reasonable.
