From their professionalism and kindness, to their transparency with scope of work and pricing, there's not a better company to trust with your renovation/build. Every person we encountered with SES from the Owner to the amazing men and women who worked on the house were kind, honest, and open. It was so comforting to trust the people spending time in our home. They were more than just the staff working on our renovation, they were people we were able to get to know. Here are some bullets to describe our experience as succinctly as possible: Our plan: - My husband and I knew exactly how we wanted the finished product to look, so we were able to provide SES with lots of pictures so they could envision the end goal as well. - We purchased all of the materials for the project (flooring, cabinetry, appliances, backsplash, etc.), and SES made the project come to life! The Details: - On our first call, we were able to schedule a time to have someone come out and assess the scope of work. - Within a couple of days Perry came to the house, assessed our first floor, discussed our plan, and we sent him our inspiration pictures via email. - Within 1 week we had a detailed quote including product and labor pricing. - We were able to schedule a meeting with Perry to adjust pricing since we were purchasing our own materials, and the next morning we had an updated quote within our budget. - Once we paid for permits, the process began and within 6 weeks (because Jefferson Parish took a while to complete the permitting) work started; at this point we had all of our materials ready for the renovation, and all of the work went smoothly from there. - We added on 3 big projects throughout the renovation and they made it so easy. We'd reach out via email, Ashley and Perry would respond with confirmation and pricing, and we'd be able to move forward the following day with the new work. Their process: - Ashley who manages the office, would reach out every evening via email to let us know who would be on site the next day, what time they would arrive, and the scope of work on the list to complete. - If any pieces of work weren't finished on the planned day, Ashley would reach out to let us know why and when the item would be finished. - If anything came up during the renovation that Perry or Luis felt needed to be addressed, they would call us, offer us multiple solutions with pricing, and allow us to chose the option that was the best fit for us. ATERRY V, BLEKER HISTORICAL HOME RESTORATIONSMr. Bleker and his team were wonderful to work with during the past few weeks. My mother had flooring problems in her home. We were looking for someone who could fix our foundation without pulling up our floors inside the home. Mr. Bleker team was able to take care of this matter for us and exceeded our expectations. They kept my mother and I updated of all the work that was being completed each day. One of the perks of hiring Mr. Bleker is that he and his team handles one home at a time. Once they start on your home, your property will have their undivided attention. Mr. Bleker prices were more than fair for the work that was completed on my home. AMonolith Remodeling LLCThe job went very well. Leo arrived on time and started washing the entire two story bay window frame. He even cleaned the bricks below the window frame. Once done, Leo corked all around the window frame and applied two coats of paint and was careful of not putting paint on the surrounding bricks and window frame. AEveryone told me that home repair companies would likely be taking only big roofing jobs after Hurricane Zeta hit New Orleans and that I might have to wait a month or longer to replace a single missing shingle that blew off during the Category 2 hurricane. While it definitely doesn’t meet the definition of a “big job,” even a single missing shingle can result in potentially significant (not to mention expensive) water damage inside the home the next time it rains. So, we called our go-to home-repair company, One Man and A Toolbox, the Monday after the hurricane. It isn’t often that I leave friends slack-jawed but that’s just what happened when I informed them that One Man and a Toolbox was sending one of their experienced workers (Henry) out to repair our roof the very next day (Tuesday). Henry not only repaired the roof shingle in question but also fixed another errant shingle he spotted while up on our roof. Total cost: $80. We are so grateful to One Man and a Toolbox for their amazing customer service and professional quality work — especially after a hurricane. This company is a class act. If it sounds like I’m a happy (and loyal) customer, you would be absolutely correct.

AThe short version: nice job, nice price. Having done a great job before, this time we used Clean Solutions for multiple electrical issues such as a new porch light, GFI outlets, light switches, and fixing a fluorescent light. It took the main part of a day. All went well and we are very happy to have it all taken care of within one visit. We highly recommend them.

FAwful! The owner is patronizing and will do everything he can not to help you. The circuits kept blowing when I moved in and I was told I didn’t know how to use a GFI. The windows were installed incorrectly and do not open and close correctly. Some don’t open at all. Some are painted to stick but once wiggled will fall abruptly. I have two smashed thumbs thanks to that. After asking for this to be fixed for a year under the warranty nothing has been done. I even had the window company come out and verify these windows are installed incorrectly and MLM still has not fixed one window. When this came up on the home inspection MLM’s owner told me it was “user error” and that the windows had been checked. This was obviously not true and now after a year of pointing this out and two smashed thumbs they are telling me I am outside my warranty. The AC was dumping so much air that we could not sleep in the bedrooms. Even after their own employee said they needed to install dampers they refused. I spent $11,000 on a brand new house getting the AC redone so my bedrooms could be used. When I mentioned the issue to the owner of MLM he said “sleep with the doors open” . The foundation is banded pilings and they did the laziest job possible on that. Cracks are appearing all over the house, floor boards are cracking and coming loose. Some of their subs showed up and did some work but even that was a fight and the work was mediocre. If the work falls directly on MLM you might as well forget about it or call a lawyer. I highly suggest finding a real contractor or at least an honest one.
