    The staff in the EENT Dept. were so nice and helpful. I called and made an apt. and they could not see me for weeks but the receptionist said she would take my name and number in case they had a cancelation. Before the end of the day, she called me and was able to get me in the very next day. Once there, the optometrist and her staff and assistants were very nice and professional and diligent about keeping everything sanitary before and after use. I got the most thorough eye exam that I've had in years and really feel like I was given top notch treatment. I was very pleased with my experience at BJAC.

    As a military member who has moved several times, I've dealt with five cable providers in the last 12 years. I rate Suddenlink firmly at the bottom of the list. Its channel offerings are lacking, the HD service freezes often and sporadically goes out completely, the internet speeds are middle-of-the-pack, and the customer service is barely average. For almost two years, I've had to reset my cable modem at least every week to restore service. When I call tech support, I usually know more about how to remedy the problem than the rep. It's frustrating to have already done the first few steps of troubleshooting and receive silence at the other end as the rep reads a screen to see where to go. I understand there's a wide variety of equipment they deal with, but simple stuff like "I've already restarted the box and there's no network activity light" is the same across the board.
    When we arrived here, I wondered why there were an unusually high number of DirecTV dishes in housing. I now know it's because Suddenlink leaves a lot to be desired. It seems as if the company understands it's the only option in the area, and provides sub-par service because it doesn't have to do anything more. Only option=monopoly on service and the ability to do whatever you want. I was even lied to when we initiated service by having a rep insist the installation tech had to "climb the pole" after I informed her that our cables are buried, the box is on the side of our house, and the television was already working. She argued with me about it, all so she could try to get me to pay a $49 installation fee...for a rep to come to our house and basically confirm what I already knew...at a location that already had service under the previous tenant...for a customer who had just informed her that the television and internet in the house were already working. Suddenlink billed me for the installation anyway, and It took me two weeks and a regional manager to get it removed. Every other company I've dealt with allows self-installs with the understanding that there will be an installation fee only if it turns out the customer needs someone to come assist at the house. Those are just a few examples of the frustrations of dealing with this company, but I believe it serves as a decent example of what others can expect to deal with.
    If you are a fan of cable, this is unfortunately your only option. If you don't mind satellite or have been considering it, this is your chance. You'll be happy you avoided the hassle of dealing with this company.

    My son was injured so we went in to the emergency room to get him checked out. He was curled up in a ball and would not let anyone touch him. They put us in a room for all of about 2 minutes before they came in to look at him. They then called the x-ray department and they made it down pretty fast and took us to x-ray. They fought with my son for about 20 minutes and eventually straightened him out so that they could get the picture that they needed. Keep in mind that my child is 5 and was screaming and in pain and they refused to give him anything for it at all. They then took us back to our room which they just so happened to be in the process of giving it to someone else at the time so they put us in a room with some chairs and made me hold my child which was curled up in a ball and screaming for about 30+ minutes. The doctor finally came in and told me that there was a break but that he wanted to get the ortho surgeon to come in and take a look. About another 30-45 minutes went by and they decided that they were just going to put a brace on his leg and leave it up to me to find an ortho doctor to see him the following morning. They put this brace on him so tight that when I got him home i had to loosen it a little and it was so big that it had his leg in the wrong position. They did send him home with pain meds, but he was in pain when there was no medical reason for it. There is no reason that he should not have been given something for pain, the child had a broken leg.

    I bought 4 toyo tires which were at a great price, but there is a catch no balancing or alignment. They can't even do it there. I also asked them to do an oil change and a tune up while they had it and they forgot. The did not charge me but I had to go back to get the oil change and they were rude that I did not remind them event though it was on my work order. When I came back a second time she told me it would be done in three hours I came back and my oil change was outrageously expensive and when I asked if it had the tune up they forgot again. So if you want a great price on tires yes go here but take it somewhere else for the balance and everything and it may still be cheaper for better tires but I would not go there for anything else.

    I went in and was treated great although they wouldn't give me anything for the pain at first, I had to wait until they got tests results back. I was given several different tests and I think most of them were not necessary and therefore I got a bill for over $10,000. I have no insurance and think that it is crazy that a simple back pain cost that much. I will say that the staff was great and we did get in and out of there in a reasonable time. Byrd is the closest hospital to me and I would  much rather go there than Deridder or to drive hours away. I will return again but hope that I won't be charged an arm and a leg.

    Had surgery at nearby Leesville Surgery center (they were excellent). I developed a low grade fever at 4 pm but I thought it would go down. At 5 pm, I decided to call ER and discuss with nurse (whci they don't do). I had to go in. At ER, it wasn't too crowded so I figured my wait couldn't be too long. I got there at 7:10 pm. At 10:45 pm, I was called  back. I had developed a migraine on top of fever and was really agitated Then, the nurses were around desk chit chatting about patients. One patient belonged to Dr Mathews

     and she had psoriosis on her legs." He tried to admit her earlier but she had something to do and waited until that night to get admitted in ER" (theri words not mine). Then a lady came in and "I bet I know what she is her for, we know her, stomach cramps, what did I tell you...This went on and on and on. Though my teen thought this was funny, I did not. It was very unprofessional, inappropriate, aand a violation of patient rights. Finally a doctor came to ck me (he asked a couple of questions) then told me he had to ck something and would be back. Approximately thirty minutes later, after nurses at desk discussed who was paid to do lab work, a male nurse and lab tech came in. The nurse tried to start an IV in which he poked around and moved needle through what felt like the vein. He then pulled it back and attempted to poke again. I have never had an IV done this way. It was painful. Finally, I told him to take it out. He obviously didn't know what he was doing or maybe it was because he was frustrated that he had to do this job and it wasn't part of his pay. He then asked if I was refusing treatment, as though this was the best option. I told him yes and I was going home. He said I had to sign papers and when he didn't show after a few minutes. I left. This appears to be the normal patient care attitude as the front desk staff (9:00) started rambling on about non-emergency patients.

    UPDATE: Today I received a call from hospital to let me know that they were addressing my concerns. I felt that they were sincerely concerned about this issue. It is conforting to know that they are willing to listen to patient concerns. I will use this hospital but will be cautious about using the ER.

    The staff was very caring and helpful to my daughter and my family. From the moment we came in the doors they were making sure my daughter was comfortable and pain free. Comparing my experience with other hospitals I was very happy and definitely would recommend this hospital to others.
