    SEAMAN'S K-9 ACADEMY
When I first called to make the reservation, the lady on the phone was extremely helpful and personable. She did let me know that it was a busy weekend for the time I needed, so they required a $20 deposit that needed to be dropped off 2 weeks before boarding. She also encouraged me to bring our dog with us to drop off the deposit so that not only she could get a feel for him, but so that he could get a feel for the area too. During our "meet and greet" she answered even more questions and erased all my fears regarding using an outdoor kennel for our large dog. He had a great time during his stay, and there were no issues, nor did he come back with any bruises or scratches from other dogs as they let each dog out individually (we'd had that issue with a previous place). We will be taking our dog back, and will also board our small dog in their inside kennel area too!

I called them on Monday the 14th of April, and was ecstatic to find out she had an opening first thing on Tuesday morning (everyone else either didn't answer or was booked out into May). The person who answered the phone was extremely friendly. We dropped off our shih-tzu the next morning, and she spent about 30 minutes with us talking about our dogs likes/dislikes, how we wanted him to look and how he normally handles grooming. Less than 3 hours later our dog was ready for pick up and looked and smelled wonderful! He was a pretty happy dog too :)
For the price and service, she really is worth giving a try! The only thing to keep in mind is that she only accepts cash, but will tell you the cost upfront when you book an appointment. We will be going back for sure!

When I dropped off our dog, the provider again assured me she would shave her down, clean her ears and cut her nails along with bathing her. When I went to get my dog, she had not been bathed. I used to do this myself when I was physically able to but circumstances have changed. When I rubbed my hand over her coat, I became covered in little white clippings. I have never had someone wash my dog before shaving .... you do it afterwards to make it easier and to get the little hairs off. A check of her entire coat found long hairs on her belly, under her arms and legs. Her belly still had dirt on it and her ears smelled with the same visible dirt/wax. The provider proceeded to tell me that my dogs nails had not been clipped completely because she BROKE THREE SETS of nail clippers on my dog's nails!!! PLEASE!!!! I have had the same set of nail clippers for 10 years and have used them on 6 different dogs during that time and have never broken a set. She was trying to get me to pay for the nail clippers. Needless to say, I will not be back! I have talked to other people who have not had a problem with this provider so please, make up your own mind. This was just my experience.

    FITZGERALD ANIMAL HOSPITAL
When I moved to this area two years ago, I chose this veterinary clinic for its certifications, the number of vets available, and the fact that I didn't find any serious complaints or reviews of the clinic or the vets. My overall impressions of this clinic are as follows:
    1) At first, I was not impressed with the front desk staff. They were very disorganized and seemed to have difficulty answering questions. Although there were two people, they couldn't handle answering the phone, helping customers at the desk, handling requests by the vets, and shuffling pets back and forth. The front desk was total chaos. I almost did not go back after the initial visit. The last two times I've gone in, there's a new face behind the desk (young woman, dark brown hair) that seems completely capable of handling the entire front desk duties by herself. Although they still don't seem to have a good system for handling paperwork, she's good at managing everything at the desk and seems much more knowledgeable when asked questions and takes her time explaining things. Under her direction, the front desk chaos has disappeared. Since I feel records management is still an issue, I think this clinic would greatly benefit from a computerized records system. It doesn't seem to matter if you take paperwork in from previous clinics, upon the next visit, it can't be located and the information doesn't make it into their own records. This happened when my mother first took her dog there when transferring to this clinic early last year.
    2) Although I haven't seen the same vet twice, the level of care still seems to be very good. I particularly like that they take their time answering questions, explaining at-home care after visits, and any possible follow-up care. What I don't like is, if your pet is injured during a grooming appointment, they will not call you to let you know. Instead, you find out when you pick your pet up in the afternoon after the groomer has left for the day. You also won't get a clear answer as to why it happened. For me, this is unacceptable and the opportunity for a repeat will not present itself again. I was satisfied that the clinic did provide free care, free medicine, and a free follow-up visit to ensure proper healing. I do understand that accidents sometimes happen, and I'm comfortable with the apology given and the actions the clinic took to resolve the situation at the time. However, I hope that the clinic will reevaluate the decision not to immediately notify the owner of the injury with a full explanation of how it happened.
    3) Per the groomer's statement to me, he specializes in Poodles. Although my Poodle's clips have been ok, they are not the quality I'm accustomed to. Forget it if you have a Shih Tzu. He just can't do that one well at all. Here's a list of the injuries one or the other of the dogs have had after grooming appointments: scratched eyeball requiring gel antibiotics for 5 days; clipper or razor burn on the belly; toenails clipped into the quick. The scratched eye was the last straw for me and my mother. This groomer has lost her business for obvious reasons, and I won't allow the list to get any longer out of fear of something more serious happening to my Poodle.
Despite my issues with the groomer, I do like this veterninary clinic and would recommend them to anyone. Considering the horror stories I've uncovered regarding a couple others in the area, I will continue to utilize this clinic. They've done a good job of taking care of my Poodle and me. When an after-hours emergency situation popped up last year, they worked seemlessly with Crossroads Emergency Clinic while handling the follow-up care. They have two locations on each side of town, most appointments are same day with walk-ins welcome, and you can get in and out of the clinic fairly quickly.

    BEALL ANIMAL CLINIC
I have quite a few pets and Dr. Beall is my veterinarian now.  I am very pleased with the service received.  His entire staff and he are the best that I have encountered in the area.  The price depends on the procedure that is being performed.  They take care of lot of spays.  I recently had a dog euthanized that I had for quite a few years and it was very reasonable.  He even made arrangements to come to my house and take care of it from here and it was very much appreciated as it was very stressful.  I felt like he was very knowledgeable vet.  He is very competitive with other veterinarians in the area as far as knowing his craft.  I think they are compassionate.  They are very empathetic towards the animal.  What really persuaded me to use Dr. Beall is that l do spays and neuters and I had taken a group of cats to a vet in a neighboring town and spays and neuters did not even include pain medication for after procedures and it was additional cost.  At Dr. Beall’s office it is automatically included so I thought that is a little more considerate to the animal.  I have checked around for the price and it is very expensive.  He is competitive for this area.  I love his entire staff.  I definitely recommend them.

    Four Paws Pet Shop
I bought some gerbils from them. Too young to tell if madefoe female yet though. They just kept having babies. Had about 30 of them. So I kept one and the pet store took the rest off my hands. Very healthy animals. Very clean.

    Paradise Byu Pet Services
Paradise Bayou Dog Grooming is by appointment only so calling ahead is a must and be prepare to wait to get in as they only do four dogs a day.  Velma and her family took the time to meet our dog outside to get to know him before taking him in easing his apprehension. I dropped him off at 9:00 and he was cleaned, groomed and dry all before 1230.

The shop is hard to find, but is next to Beth el Apostolic Church off the street in the tree line.

I am definitely going to make another appointment.

    BEALL ANIMAL CLINIC
We called other vets for price quotes on a spay/large dog and were amazed to discover the other vets only included pain medication if the owner agreed prior to the procedure.  Pain medication is automatic-not optional-for surgical procedures performed with Dr. Beall office.  His entire staff is wonderful and so considerate to our four legged family members!
