    Dream Renovations

We ran into the same Trap as some other Member of Angie' s List by
looking up Construction only. There we found 2 reviews and both were
    positive. So we hired him.
A few weeks into the catastrophe, I looked up his Company name and
found almost all Ratings were F and negative. All what the Members
wrote there, we had the same experience . Search his Company name with no categories.

He is a very good story teller and builds up confidence by leaving power
tools at the site so you think he will be back the next day. But he
never worked more than three days a week and never more than 4 hours
a day, unless he needs to talk about getting more money in advance .
He is promising that he will be there every day from now on , but
every word that comes out of his mouth is a lie.
Here are some of his statements:
He does not call back as promised, does not answers the phone, states
his help is not there yet, the bank would not clear the check that
day,so he cannot buy supplies , then he is sick or his girlfriends
daughter is sick. He had to use the money for emergencies .

He will call and say he is coming so I wait and he never shows up so I
call and he says ?oh yeah, my truck broken or my truck got towed.
He did not draw up a Plan, it was all in his head, he stated. He did not
stick to what we agreed on with the construction and even after I
drew up a plan myself he did not do it. If I would not have been
there all the time, the disaster would have been bigger.
The way he builds is weak, in fact we had a piece of the support
structure collapsed before there was any weight on it. So we went
under and inspected all of it and found that he affixed 2x6 planks to
4x4 posts with only one 3 inch screw on the entire support system this was clearly a safety
hazard since a portion of the support system fell. He even laid the
flooring over this unsafe situation. We had to crawl under this
unsafe deck to secure the support structure immediately. As we walked
the deck the section closest to the house would give way under body
weight and when we inspected this we found he failed to put any 4x4
support in the ground to anchor to. At this was the point when we
decided to fire him. The longer he was on the job the worse his
output was such as not measuring floor planks to the same length so
there was an uneven viewable appearance or cutting spindles too
short so they have a gap on the railing. He used damaged wood for
spindles that we had to use wood putty to fix. We realized he had no
intention to complete the build within budget or in the agreed
time-line requested. We request the build be completed by
Thanksgiving which gave him 6 weeks to accomplish the task. 2 month
into the project and it was only half done. We already gave him 12000
Dollars and did not have all the materials yet. So we used the
remaining 2000 to buy the rest ourselves. Now we had to pay somebody
else to repair all safety violations and finish the Job that was half
done. Although we do a lot of work ourselves. Luckily we realized in
time and made it within our planned budget.
I highly recommend stay clear of this guy he is lazy, a cheat, liar and
    unreliable.
