AEaton Masonry LLCThey are a family business, and were very courteous. The owner came out himself. They all speak English, and it was easy for me to communicate with them. They were on time and told me exactly what they were going to do. They always cleaned up after themselves as well.- J Preston R.

AJS Handyman Services LLCThis work went very well. Contractor was able to handle several aspects of turning a destroyed (hit by 100' pine by Gustav) outdoor kitchen into an outdoor BBQ. Included reworking brick, repairing and laying new concrete, installing stainless gas appliances, sink, storage doors; burying conduit for electrical and media, building a weatherproof refrigerator box from fiber cement (hardee board). I am very satisfied with the work performed as well as how he advised me and handled estimating and scheduling. This is the rare handyman who shows up on time and is both honest and competent.- Scott B.

FEddie Lecompte MasonaryEddie was very unprofessional in the way he spoke and conducted himself and his business!!!! He originally said that he would take care of the labor for nothing as long as I purchased and provided all of the materials (bricks, mailbox), since his crew was already set up at the home next door and had morter mixed. Upon completion of the mailbox, he asked me to "take care" of his crew by way of $325!!!!!! Horrible, horrible experience!!!!- Maygan M.

FThe employees in the landscaping department were courteous and friendly…until I raised a question about a billing error.
When Jarod, the head landscaper, originally gave price quotes, he specified that these were quotes, not bids, and said we would pay for the actual amount of time that the work crew spent on the job.
- * On one job he charged for 22 ½ hours labor ($35 per hour) when the estimate was for 18 hrs labor. I know for a fact that the three-man crew worked only a half day (closer to 12 man-hours).
* No log sheet was shown to me when I inquired about labor fees that seemed too high. I didn’t think to ask to see proof until
later, and was then told that they do not keep the time sheets.
* For 3 of 4 jobs done in Feb 2014, the labor charges on the invoice were significantly higher than the labor fees on the
estimate…even though 2 of these 3 jobs had been changed and required less work. (We cancelled the removal of one tree and cancelled planting two trees, but labor fees increased rather than decreasing.)
The error I made was writing checks when Jarod handed me the invoices. The amounts seemed too high, so I questioned them. He reduced a couple of obvious over-charges and expected payment right then. I paid him…and then allowed All Seasons to do the additional work we had scheduled for the following month. In March, I felt that they had overcharged for labor again. This is when I took time to scrutinize all the invoices and realized I had overpaid for the work that was done in February. (Since I was dealing with what seemed to be a reputable, professional company, I expected this to be easily resolved in a single conversation with a manager.)
* The owner’s assistant never returned my call after I left a voice mail requesting a meeting with a manager to discuss invoicing errors.
* The head landscaper spoke to me in a defensive manner on the phone and insisted that the charges were accurate. He raised his voice and said that I was accusing him of stealing. He interrupted me and never allowed me to finish explaining why I thought that I had overpaid.
* In 5 different phone calls with these two employees (Tess and Jarod) I specifically requested to meet with a supervisor. The final two conversations ended with Jarod’s promise to call me back after he spoke with the owner. (Apparently there is no
manager between him and the owner, Peter Mayeaux).
- * No one ever called me back.
* I waited a week after my final conversation with Jarod, then I wrote a letter to the managing agent (whose name I found on the
Secretary of State’s website) informing him of all that had transpired. I requested a refund of $385.
* The response I got was a phone call from Peter Mayeaux. I explained my reasons for the refund request.
* He told me that Jarod assured him that my charges were accurate, but he agreed to give me the refund.
* Peter Mayeaux told me that he will make one change; he said from now on he plans to give a bid, rather than an estimate for landscaping jobs. (Based on my experience with All Seasons, I believe this change will result in customers frequently pay more than their job should cost. Even before I was told of this change, I learned that the labor charges start when they begin loading the truck at the nursery and end when the crew returns to the nursery after completion of the job…rather than charging only for the time the crew works in the yard.)
In addition to the issue of being overcharged for services, I have a problem in three of my six beds this spring that I’ve never had in the past seven years (when I hired other landscapers for spring and fall maintenance). Three beds are full of weeds! It is standard practice to spread weed preventer at the same time as fertilizer. Apparently some of my beds got it, while three did not (including the new 4 x 9 ft. flower bed that All Seasons built with fresh soil and mulch).
