    Cormier & Sons' Floor Installation
It took him almost 2 weeks to finish this. He did not tile it the way we wanted it and his excuse was "People aren't doing it that way..." It's was our shower and not his decision too make. He also did demo work without consulting with us and charged us for it. When he told my husband the price I was furious. We talked and he took $500 off. Then he hounded us for the money. He lied on our contractor as well saying that he knew what his pricing was from the beginning. Our contractor has been straight up with us from the beginning. We also asked him for a detailed invoice of what he charges and he gave us some handwritten foolishness. He is a con artist who does mediocre work. Our shower and tub are not large and we've gotten quotes that are much cheaper. Do not use him at all. He will over charge you!!!!

    WCM Flooring & Tile-Works, LLC
Horrible. He came one time and talked on his cell phone that rang continuously as he explained excuses to callers why their work was not on schedule or some work was not completed. He committed to call me back many times and he never did. I told him 3 times that I wanted to give him a deposit and move forward with our job and he just "went away" never called back. I don't know how he could still be in business. I've never experienced anything so disappointing and frustrating as I had picked him because of his Angie's rating.

Took about 3 weeks to secure flooring material. Craig set the window date for the installation and time to do the work (1 day), he met this window. Craig and his helpers were courteous, unobtrusive and respectful to our property/questions during the installation process. The work went as Craig said, the floor is beautiful and the price was exactly as promised. I am very satisfied with his work and the experience we had with WCM. I definitely would use WCM again and will also consider them for any tile work I might need in the future.

The whole experience was amazing. The prep work and the quality of the painting was nothing short of superb. I've tried my hand at painting through the years, but I got to see how it's really done, when the ones doing it are true professionals. Every area done was flawless. In one instance, a color I'd picked wasn't quite working, and I told them I wanted to take a different approach. Even though it meant sanding down and pretty much starting over, there was no complaining. The guys got started with no fuss, and I'm really glad we did it, because the results were incredible.
Because my project involved several colors, and because there were a couple of changes, there was a little bit of confusion about what I wanted where. Next time, I'll make a written list that everyone can refer to. The hiccups were small, but I could have avoided them if I'd prepared better.

    Ed Chachere Construction Inc
How good is Ed Chachere?  It's hard to put in words the detail and meticulous nature of Ed and Elijah.  Their work is as close to perfection as possible in a restoration of a home where lumber was cut to a different specification than you find today.  They have repaired walls, floors, renovated bathrooms, resolved problems with old construction, and are in the final process of bringing the home back to it's original glory.  Ed is proficient at working with other contractors and has been invaluable in his ability to coordinate efforts.  Needless to say, not only has Ed done a fabulous job on the home's interior, but he has also saved our sanity during the process.  Interior of the home is near completion and we are starting on outside.

My husband and I were very please with the quality of work that was performed on this project.  Tearing out the closet really transformed the space and you would never know what was there before.  The project did take longer than expected, we were originally told 3-4 days, but overall we were extremely pleased with the quality of work.  He even rehung a door for us and did a good job cleaning up at the end of each day.  The original estimate was for 835.00 and at the end we were billed for an extra 40.00 for wood stain. This was not a big deal, but I thought that we would have been informed of extra expenses before the incurred.  Overall, the bedroom looks fantastic and we are very happy with the result.

    Sarver Tile Co
Mike Sarver was recommended to me by a neighbor who was completely updating their 50+ year old home and Mr. Sarver installed the tile in their new bathroom, and were very pleased with his work and commitment to perfection.  I called him and we set up a time within a week's time and he and his assistant showed up right on time, on a Saturday morning, and was finished before noon.
Because of the settling taking place in my home, many of the floor tiles were cracked but in tack (and obsolete in trying to replace with new material), which I had spent 9 months gluing back together because I had no extras and didn't want to completely re-tile these four bathrooms.  Obviously I needed someone who respected all the work I had done and would use extra care to reinstall these pieces and lay them properly not to be in danger of being cracked or broken again.
Mr. Sarver understood completely what my concerns were, and within a few hours finished the job and his price included his labor, thin set, and grout as well.  In my opinion, $425 was well worth it as opposed to several thousand to completely re-tilie the floors and walls of these 4 bathrooms.
I'm sure this was a job he wasn't too excited about doing (very minor compared to his usual jobs), yet he did it with enthusiasm, care, and complete professionalism. I plan to use Mr. Sarver at any future tile job I have and would highly recommend him to anyone (even my worst enemy), he's that good!!

Difficulty in communication. Missed appointments. Wanted payment before job was inspected. Did not return to correct problems. In 4 years have had to repair hardwood floors twice due to improper installation (nailed too tightly and buckled). Will need to refinish floors in the next year or so due to wear of finish.

    Materials By Design of Louisiana

Was hired to remodel master bathroom, gave us an estimate of $3,990.00 which claimed to cover everything.  After the demolition began he imformed us he did not do the electrical piece but since it was such a small job of just adding two recessed lights he would handle it for us.  Also, informed us that the estimate did not include the tile or other floor materials.  Claimed it was a misunderstanding between us and he apologized.  We went and purchased the materials ourselves, he went pick everything up, and started the job of tiling the floor first.  After one day of work he showed up with a helper who is an underwater welder who he was teaching the art of tiling.  In the end the helper ended up laying all our bathroom floor because Jeff left and went work on other jobs.  Our bathroom floor is not level by no means, grout is smeared on base boards and the floor is now 2 inches higher then any other floor in the house.  He sent the helper into the attic to install the recessed lights, while in the attic the helper then caused significant damage to our home electrical system resulting in a certified electrician coming in and charging us $1,055.00 to repair all the damages caused by him.  Once Jeff began working in the shower he insisted he would correct the errors in the floor and make everything look great.   After receiving a payment of $340.00 on April 15th to so say pay the plumber, he disappeared, claiming his mother passed away in Texas.  Neither, myself, my wife, or the plumber ever received a single phone call or text message from him for 16 days.  All of us at some point during that time tried to contact him with no success.  The plumber so he could get his money Jeff never paid him, I ended up paying the plumber myself so he would give me a receipt saying the contractor never paid him.  On May 2nd I finally received a call from him asking when he could come collect the rest of his money of $925.00, I explained to him I would have to get back with him and asked when will you come complete the job, hes said well there is not much left so I will come this week I guess.  He then texted me 2 days later at 1 in the morning, insisting I meet with him to pay him so he could pay the plumber, so I informed him I had already paid the plumber and that we had hired someone else to complete the job.  Within 5 minutes I then received a text saying "Maybe we should talk about this."  Before I could reply he then texted me threatening me with a lawsuit, lien on my home and garnish my paycheck.  After not receiving a response from me, he began texting my wife which progressed into threatening text messages in the middle of the night over and over again.  Long story short, we have since pressed 3 different charges against him for harassment, as well as stalking charges.  He sent a message saying "he did not seal our shower corners so he hopes it leaks and we have to pay someone to rip it all up and redo the whole thing."  After filing the police reports we found out he has a record for felony theft as well as outstanding judgements against him from vendors as well as other customers.  A complete and total nightmare I hope no one else has to ever deal with!

As this was a comparatively complex project with Ed coordinating several other contractors, it took several weeks to complete.  As well as keeping his work area neat, Ed and his crew always cleaned up at the end of the day.  The inconvenience was well planned to be as little as possible.  Ed and his crew were a joy to have in the house, always respectful and considerate of us.  At the end of the job Ed and his crew did an excellent job cleaning of the debris accumulated.  As I have future home repairs I will call Ed first, I have no criticism of his work.
