    We relocated to Louisiana, ourselves from a 2600 sq ft home with both and attic and a basement (not incl in the sq ft). We moved into a 1400 sq ft home that and was previously furnished with odd-ends furniture. We initially moved our stuff into a storage unit. The old odd-end stuff went to an estate company, Salvation Army, Goodwill and the dump.
    We desparately needed a finite amount of assistance; most moving companies wanted to charge us for services we didn't need. We contacted Uncle Sam - he happened to have an opening from an appointment that was postponed. So we lucked out on that account. We negotiated an equitable price for the days worth of work for two movers and a truck.
    We had a 10x18 ft storage unit filled. The crew of two professional guys came with a truck. Help us sort through the furniture and boxes we needed to bring to our house and re-stack/store the items that needed to keep in storage. We were able to reduce our storage unit to a 5x18 ft unit. The movers moved all my furniture, set up the beds, placed the dressers, the tables, living room furniture and stacked the boxes by destination rooms. They were professional, prompt, courteous and hard working.
    We highly recommend Uncle Sam movers for your moving needs.

    Uncle Sam's Moving Company
    Provider was to move items from local storage yard to my 2nd home. All moving was to be local, in town. Provider told me the cost was to be $500 and he asked for my credit card/debit card. We agreed to the schedule for the move. However, after several cancellations for the move was made by the provider, I was not going to pay the agreed $500 and wanted a cheaper rate to move my items. We agreed on $400. On the day of the move, I gave the provider a $400 check, unknowing that he also ran my debit card for the original $500. So now my local move was $900 and not the agreed $400. Many attempts were made in trying to get the provider to refund my $500 and always he had a sad story and kept on putting me off. I will contact the local BBB and notify them of this providers shady services and unprofessional way of doing business. I am now working with my bank to dispute the $500 charge.

    This was not the first time I had used Nichols, they continue to do what they say.  The crew was very friendly and professional.  It was crazy hot that day and they just kept on going, I was worn out just watching them.  Very happy with the service again.

    I agree with the lady who is asking who is writing all the positive reviews for this company.  Our move was BY FAR the WORST moving experience we have ever had.  To sum it up, the night before they moved our start time from 8:30 to 11:30.  They showed up at 12:30.  They "finished" at 2:30 in the morning. Most of our furniture is damaged and there are two holes in the wall of our new home.

    Adonay and his partner arrived 15 minutes prior to our confirmed time. I wasn't able to attend so I was nervous having my mother handle this on her own because of the horror stories you here with moving companies. From start to finish they worked hard and showed care in everything they did. They were done much sooner than I estimated which is great when your paying by the hour. The best thing from my standpoint on this entire experience is that my mother felt comfortable through the entire process. I would recommend AD Movers to any and everybody who wants a very well priced quality moving service. Thank you Adonay for making sure my Mother was taken care of and providing us with the best service we could ask for.

    Movers showed up on time and moved all required boxes/furniture from our temporary home into their van.  We had Wes and Denmark and they were very polite and friendly.  We then drove from Baton Rouge to Covington to our new home where we had a large PODS container waiting.  They unloaded the van and what was in the PODS container for us.  They were really easy to work with - whatever I asked them to move they did, no complaints.

    The movers always showed up late. On the average, about two hours late each day. On the last day of moving (they packed up the trucks that day), they didn't come to our home until 12 noon and they left our home at 1:00 A.M. It took 5 days to pack and load our home. When our furniture arrived at our new home in Georgia, 12 pieces of furniture were damaged and scratched: two antique chairs were so severely damaged that they had to be taken to a professional to be fixed, our leather couch has sections of leather in 4 places that have been split open, and 9 other pieces of furniture were scratched and damaged. Tim, the man in charge of the move, later admitted that they ran out of furniture pads and packing material. They should have gone back to the office and gotten more. A small hammer, pliers and a ratchet set are missing (they had been in our garage). Decorative, breakable items from my teenage daughter's bedroom were not wrapped in packing material but just thrown in a box. Our clothing was also put in boxes and not hung up in clothing boxes.

    I was very happy with the estimation process, the crew, and the packing and moving service. I would hire them again. They worked with me on the price and were very professional. he cost I list is an estimate from my recollection and may not be accurate. They allowed me to pay with my credit card, which made my life much easier. Another mover wanted certified checks which would have meant extra runs to the bank at the busiest, most inconvenient time of my life--packing and selling a house time. Once the packing was done, which they helped me with the day before the move, I worked beside them the rest of the day and night, helping to load and unload. I was very impressed with their work ethic. They were remarkably good natured in the face of a big move with two trucks that went from 8:00 am to past midnight, even as we met with several problems that delayed our progress during the evening.
    There is a sign inside one of the trucks indicating "no whining." The crew had a really great attitude. We had a very long, complicated day with three big hiccoughs that delayed us during a move from the Northshore to the city. We had to wait at a northshore storage unit for more art boxes that, after 20 minutes of downtime, I gave up on and lived without (this did result in some glass breakage), and when we got to the New Orleans storage unit after closing time, we found the storage company had left my 10'X30' unit padlocked. The second truck came much later to the destination storage site. We solved those problems and kept on going. I heard only one whine from the crew as we reached into the 10:00pm hour, our twelfth hour on the job. Ironically, the boss was the most vocal complainer when he arrived at 10:30-11:00 pm The whining was mostly of the my-wife-is-going-to-kill-me-variety, forgivable for such a long, long day. I just ignored it and was grateful they were there and were working so hard to help me finish the job. They performed far above expectations.

    They showed up late with only two ladies to pack an entire house in one day. They came with only a few boxes from Home Depot and three rolls of tape. They did not even bring a tape dispenser. I had piles of paper for the wrapping and padding of delicate items. They started outside and used no padding at all for my ceramic pots and decorative planters. Then they moved into the kitchen and my mementos. Again, I tried numerous times to get them to use the paper, but they had no interest in it.  
    One of the ladies knocked over a glass cabinet door twice and even said "that thing sure is strong, I done knocked it over twice and the glass ain't broke yet."  She may not have broken the glass but she did break the frame that holds the glass in place it now must be fixed.
    At one point I found one of the ladies in the garage holding one of my patio furniture cushions.  I thought nothing of it since I figured she would be using it to pad a box.  Later, I discovered that none of the boxes contain any of my patio cushions and that this lady stole the custom made cushions for my brand new patio furniture.  It is going to cost me well over 800$ to replace these cushions.
    Late in the day I discovered that the boxes being packed were only half full.  This house was to be stored in a storage locker and these boxes would have to be stacked.  I questioned why they were only filling them half full.  The answer is that the guys coming the next day would not be able to lift the heavy boxes.  
    If the boxes are not filled full and packed tight, the box will eventually collapse and the items in the box will be crushed.  The stack will fall over damaging other things it falls against.
    I contacted the company and they delayed the second day of work.  About 3pm in the afternoon I received an email stating that the company will not be completing the contract.  
    I am left in a non functional house, forced to pay another month of rent and paying for an empty storage locker.  All the boxes must be repacked before any company will take the contract to move my house into storage.  This nearly doubles the original cost of placing my things in a storage locker.
    I am placing my house in storage so that I can join my husband who is stationed in Germany.  When I spoke to the Operations Manager, Patrick Lee, he assured me that since he was also a veteran that he understood my situation and promised his company would handle this professionally.  Instead, I have broken items and stolen things and the company will not take my calls, will not address this at all and I am the one screwed.
    Be very careful hiring this company, pack your own things and do not trust their employees out of your eye sight.
