    Southern Comfort A/C and Heating, Inc.
    This was a trial. The first time they came out, they put 2 lbs of refrigerant in the system and injected dye to find the leak. (Note this was a system that they installed.) For this first visit, they charged me $406. The unit failed again a couple of weeks later and they came out and put in a $30 part (filter/dryer) and charged me another $898. The unit failed again the day after and I checked the connection at the thermostat which I dropped and broke. They came the next day and replaced the thermostat for $242, but did not fix the reason the unit failed, so it failed again the next day. They came out and removed debris from a line that had tripped a float switch and then explained to me why I was fortunate that they did not charge me another $89 for the service visit. The bottom line is that it cost me almost $1600 to replace a $30 part which took less than an hour. I don't know how anyone can afford this company or why they would choose to use them.

    My AC unit was under-performing and the temperature would creep up to 80 by the end of the day, so I contacted Dusty's due to their good reviews. Dusty's Services LLC sent a technician that, after a very short inspection, charged me to change a capacitor and add 2lb's of refrigerant. However, the service did not improve the performance of my AC unit at all. In fact, it felt like it got worse. I subsequently contacted a different AC contractor, who, after inspecting my AC unit, advised that I was still low on refrigerant, and validated his findings by showing me the readouts on his instruments. After the second AC contractor (not Dusty's) added refrigerant, my AC problems went away. I feel like Dusty's was a complete waste of money.

    Although I'm reasonably vigilant about performing normal preventative maint. procedures to my A/C system myself (seasonally)...My 12yr. old system (using a now obsolete old refrigerant R-22) I was convinced my old system's compressor had finally given out at last....Not So...; When technician "Dustin" and an assistant showed up and peeled back the control's cover....a burnt/broken wire, powering the "run" capacitor of the system was an obvious fix.....They replaced that and also tightened up (fastened) some old, loose (wire-dangling) components in the box. Unit fired back up just fine to limp on for a while longer this season..... Good, professional and thorough repairs (with engaging discussion about my existing system's problems and future resolve/replacement) Looking forward to getting an estimate from them for my A/C systems complete replacement in about a year or less. Good work and great to meet you guys.....thanks.

    these guys saved our lives. we had been sitting in a heat wave for 7 days already when another company we called finally installed a bad compressor (they forgot to order the part even though i called them twice to follow up before we had to purchase three portable acs). after the other company installed the compressor, they took off without checking to see if it was cooling the inside. i called them on the road 20 mins later to tell them that no air was coming out of the vents and they said i just had to give it time. no air after 4 hrs, so we turned it off so as not to burn up the new compressor and called to tell them so. then we called overman's and it was Sunday. they came out within the hour and diagnosed 5 lbs down on the Freon with the fan trying to blow across frozen coils in the attic, so no cold air coming out of the vents. the tech also noticed that the condenser fan blade was warped and needed replacing. he also showed us how the inside system was lacking a second needed return to make the system work more efficiently. this explained for us why one side of the house was always much warmer than the other. within the hour we had cool air coming out of the vents and within a few hours the whole house was cool for the first time in over a week. they came back within two weeks to replace the fan and motor and it now purrs like a kitten, it was really loud before. will use them to upgrade the system with an additional return and vents in the future. very reasonable price for the service and trip charge, especially since it was a Sunday. we are very grateful to them for there professionalism and friendliness and going the extra mile to come out for us on a Sunday.

    We woke up to a squealing AC unit and I started checking Angie's List for a recommendation. I couldn't be happier with their service. They answered the phone at 6:30 am and had a technician at my house an hour later. He was able to diagnose our problem quickly and went to go find the needed part. By 10 am, we had cleaned (they cleaned our sadly neglected AC units as well) and happily running AC units for a very reasonable price. I will definitely be calling them to schedule our regular maintenance in the future. I can't thank them enough for such quick, reliable service in this hot, humid weather. They really saved the day!
