    Floorworks and Blinds
Originally I went to the floorworks shop and spoke to Paul. Paul spoke highly of his work. Even though I had reservations he ensured me that I had nothing to worry about and the job would exceed my expectations. He stated that the job would take no more than 3 weeks. On day 1 his worker was suppose to be at my house for 9 and did not show up until 11 with his wife who was not employed by floorworks. Everyday after that he continued to be late and his work was less than impressive. He had to fix his mess ups daily. After about a month of this I contacted Paul who was more than rude over text because he does not believe in talking on the phone. He blamed all the problems on me. After constant texts and the job lasting over 3 months because he kept pulling his worker off my job to start others I finally got him to come over and assess the job. He attempted to fix my niche in my shower which was done and redone because it looked absolutley horrible. Once Paul fixed my niche it was worse than before. I was finally fed up and just paid him because obviously his work did not reflect his words at the shop. I would definatley not recommend anyone to use this company. Very unprofessional and the work is not worth the amount I paid for the job

Fantastic. Mr Maestri explained all the different types of rugs and their characteristics which helped us make an educated purchase within our budget. Their prices were less than all the other places with comparable rugs that we considered. The rugs were custom made to our exact dimensions and placed in our home by their personnel. They both look fantastic, are very durable and easy to clean.

    McCullar Tile Co
He showed up on time , as scheduled, every day ( even in terrible weather).  He left the site as neat and clean as he could every day.   AND-- He finished exactly when he said he would.  No delays, no excuses.   He was reliable, trustworthy, and very personable.  We recommend him highly-- but you had better call early because he books up quickly.  I called in  late October and he was booked until January.  But he was worth the wait.

    Andrew's Flooring and Shower Specialist
When this Andrew came out to bid the job, the work to be performed and time of completion was discussed. This was a vacant house being renovated in preparation for sale. The work was to be completed within less than two weeks. Andrew was aware that I would be leaving for vacation out of town two weeks later and planned to have the wood floors refinished during that time.
The first order of business was to prepare the kitchen subfloor prior to installation of the cabinets, which date was stated at the time of hire. The preparation work was not done in the manner expected and discussed, nor was it completed. I had to install a section of plywood myself where the cabinets were to be installed and Andrew continued the patching and sanding of the floor after the cabinets were installed. The front panel of the island was damaged in the process, which had to be replaced. Plywood/OSB underlayment was added to the master bedroom and bath at an additional cost. However, the time of completion for the additional underlayment was taken into account. After beginning the job, Andrew and his co-worker did not consistently show up to work at my house. Sometimes just his coworker would show up or they would show up late during the day. I addressed the issue with Andrew and he assured me the work would be completed in time. Andrew informed me that the master bath tiles provided were defective and we were was one box short of laminate for the master bedroom. Effort was made to find get a replacement tile and another box of laminate, however there was insufficient time prior to my leaving out of town.
Two weeks after beginning the job Andrew had only set the filed tile (center tiles) in a small upstairs bath and installed approximately one-third of laminate in the master bedroom. There was still unfinished preparation work and no flooring installed in the kitchen/laundry room; the perimeter tiles and grouting in the small bathroom had not been completed; and, the natural slate at the hearth was not laid correctly (improperly spaced and not level). Andrew was given access to a key to the house in order to complete the kitchen/laundry rooms, upstairs bathroom and master bedroom (excluding closets).
When I return from vacation 8 days later some preparation work had been done in the laundry room and some more laminate installed. None of the kitchen/laundry room flooring had been installed,; the upstairs bath was not completed; and the master bedroom was not completed. Andrew told me he had other jobs to attend to since all the materials were not on site. After expressing my dissatisfaction with the progress I informed him later that day (Monday) that all the materials were at the house. Andrew stated he would begin work the following day. He did not show up. I contacted Andrew again. He said he would be there in the morning. Only his co-worker showed up later during the afternoon and he worked for about 1-2 hours. I contacted Andrew. Andrew stated he was finishing another job and would have my job completed by the weekend. I informed him that if the work was not done I would have to hire someone else. No one showed up Thursday. Then he and his co-worker worked Friday and Saturday and completed the job. However, after paying him I discovered that the new master bedroom door I had installed, which Andrew removed was damaged. The door in den with the damaged side facing the wall. I since contacted Andrew about the damaged door and he replied that he would check with his co-worker to see if he knew anything about it and call me back. He never called back.
This was the worse experience I have had hiring anyone and would not recommend this contractor.

Cheryl Murphy with Floor to Ceiling was the subcontractor on my home in Covington, LA.  I purchased my flooring and my granite for the bathrooms and kitchen.  I hate that I had to report her on my floors and she never resolved the issue.  So basically I am living with the floors that look 40 years old.  BUT NOW, my brand-new home (less than 2 years old) has a leak in the shower.  My bathroom linen closet which backs up to the shower has BLACK MOLD!  I can provide pictures.  I have called CHeryl Murphy and she will not even return my phone call.  I am dealing with Rufus Tingle the contractor who is also dragging his feet on fixing the problem.  He states that I had 1 years to report damage.  Cheryl had her men re-tilt the bench last February when I reported then I had a leak.  He came out re-Tilted (basically, put a band-aide) and told me shower bench was not leaking but rather it needed re-tilting.  WELL it was leaking - until the point now I have BLACK MOLD.  I understand CHeryl may have sold her business to another contractor RON LEE HOMES but Cheryl is still running it - SHE NEEDS TO STAND BEHIND HER WORK and at least have the decency to return my call.  Thank you Janet Burton

The finished product is terrific. Mr. Maestri personally oversaw the job and the two installers, Robert and Steve, are also to be highly commended for their professionalism. The scope of the work required a bit more time to complete due to some sub-surface conditions yet the added time only further contributed to the terrific end results.
We plan to enage Mr. Maestri's company again very shortly for another flooring and bath tile replacement.

    Leonard Lopes
This review is to follow up on my last experience with Mr. Leonard, which was very positive.
Mr. Leonard and I discussed installing flooring and building a closet after his initial work.  He then disappeared for a month, did not respond to voice mails, emails or texts.  He did finally call me back and offered a 15% discount if I still wanted him to come back.  I reluctantly agreed, however I was concerned he would disappear again.  We scheduled a time and he installed the floors in one day, without the finishing quarter round or transition trip.  We worked together to design the closet, and Mr. Leonard offered good ideas of what would/would not work.
Mr. Leonard worked up a detailed supply list and labor cost, which I agreed to.  We agreed on a day for him to start the closet, which was supposed to take 2 days.  To make a long story short, it actually took Mr. Leonard 5 days to construct the closet, finish the quarter round on the flooring and install the transition strip.  On the last day, which lasted 10 hours, the closet had drawers that are difficult to open and close, shelves that are not snug (cut to short), is not flush against the wall, no quarter round on the floors, and uneven drawer faces.
At 10 pm, when clearly no more "progress" could be made, I write out the check for Mr. Leonard.  He disagreed with the price.  I
showed him his own email that he sent to me which outlined the labor cost, and he said it was a mistake, that I should pay him $225 per day for the 2 days he estimated, instead of $250 as quoted.  Mr. Leonard then asked me to pay him what I thought the work was valued at.  At the end of the day, Mr. Leonard asked me to pay him twice what he himself quoted his price to be!  He did not honor the 15% discount that he offered for him disappearing for a month.
Should you use Mr. Leonard, please make sure that he is correct when he sends you a quote for work.  Any time estimate, please double or triple.

Where do I begin? Wayne and Wes became part of our family when they remodeled our home in the Covington area. They met with us several times to plan our remodel and were very accommodating when it came to pinning down a start date. They always held true to their start and finish times and made sure to clean up at the end of every work day. They double and even triple checked each and every move to ensure accuracy and high quality craftsmanship. When walls were taken down and floors ripped up, many imperfections were exposed. Wayne and Wes wisely advised as to the best possible solutions taking monetary and aestheticsinto consideration. Whenever a decision had to be made, they communicated the issue at hand and collaborated with us before moving on. We love Wayne and Wes and will absolutely call on them for all our future projects!!!

The issue we have is in regard to the slate.

Prior to ordering, Salesperson Flattman confirmed that the slate was of good quality; together we viewed pictures of the slate online.
We requested and received samples of current stock-beautiful color, uniform thickness, normal surface irregularity.
The order clearly indicates we requested gauged slate which is more uniform in thickness.

The slate that arrived was inferior and substandard, having no similarity to the samples we received-very irregular in thickness, chewed surfaces, brittle, sheeting, poorly cut, odd color variations.  The variance could not be attributed to 'normal' variation of natural stone and the problem was widespread, not limited to a small percentage of the order.

We visited with manager Eric to view the remaining crates of slate. We agreed that we would try to salvage what we could and return what remained. We used perhaps 1/3 of the order on bathroom floor and it looks unsightly.
The contractor has spoken to Pro Source and received partial credit of $675.00.  According to my calculation we are entitled to twice that amount.
I have emailed the salesperson and gotten no response. I have faxed Eric requesting to meet and gotten no response.

Had them come out to give an estimate.  The gentlemen who came out to give the estimate was not sure how the Angie's coupon worked.  Took a while to get the estimate from them, had to call their office several times.  When I did get the estimate was very high and not what I asked for.  Asked them to give me an estimate for labor only not materials and never received it.  Called several times for this estimate but they never called me back with the estimate just for labor and not materials.

Experience was very bad and the estimate was outrageous for the services to be provided.

Would like to get my refund of $200.00 paid since I could not get the correct estimate to use this provider for the services wanted.
