ADavid Stanley Residential & Commercial PaintersNow living in my Golden Years, I have had many opportunities to experience contractors of all sorts working on and in my home. Without hesitation, I would consider David Stanley Residential & Commercial Painters among the (if not THE) best I have ever dealt with. I needed exterior painting and minor repairs and this is one of the many companies I researched. I was reluctant to use them at first since their ratings were not as favorable as many others. Nevertheless, when I saw the work they had done in the neighborhood (including work done for my next-door neighbor), I was impressed. Before, during, and after the project, this company’s performance ticked off every single box for things I look for in a contractor: excellent communication, reasonable cost, high-quality materials, meticulous workmanship, attention to detail, excellent cleanup, and professional & friendly employees. The most impressive quality to me, however, as compared to similar contractors I’ve used over the years, was their work ethic. It was the first contractor I can ever recall who put in a full day’s work every day of the week. Others I’ve used would start mid-morning and finish for the day in mid-afternoon and frequently did not work Fridays. David Stanley and his crew literally worked from daylight to dark every day until the project was done. I like that. At the project’s end, I told Mr. Stanley how pleased I was but also how reluctant I had been based on his lukewarm reviews. He told me he had many very well-satisfied customers, but few took the time to write reviews. I agree and it is unfortunate that many people have no problem making the effort to complain, but choose too often not to report their good and successful experiences. Called him the same morning and Gordon was able to come out that afternoon. Sent me an estimate and was back two days later and repaired my siding. Quick, professional, polite, affordable. Nick and his crew epitomize quality and professionalism - they showed up when they said they would and left my house cleaner at the end of every day than they found it. They reframed and refinished an exterior wall that had some previous water damage, installed new (beautiful!) French doors, did some custom kitchen cabinet modifications to allow installation of a larger wall oven, replaced some damaged siding, and built & installed some custom exterior louvers. ATommy's Windows, Doors, & SidingThis job was a substantial undertaking as every window and all siding was to be replaced. Mr. Tommy was both friendly and professional from our initial meeting through job completion. His window and siding crews reflect the same demeanor and work ethic. I have uploaded during and after pics. The owners we purchased the home from had covered a front window. Mr. Tommy’s crew successfully added it back in. The siding is a light gray, and the picture does not do justice to the transformation. The new windows and siding brought new life to the old home. Mr. Kris was helpful in that he offered advice on siding placement, but he always allowed me make my final decisions. From the initial presentation and proposal process to the installation and cleanup it was first class. Boomer's siding installation crew went right to work and completed the installation in approx. two weeks even with the in-climate weather (rain about every other day). The windows were ordered on a Monday and installation began the following week. Trevor and Clint installed all 48 windows within two days. Everything went so well I decided to use Tommy's to install 29 Impact windows on my personal home. This has been a very successful project and I would highly recommend Tommy's Windows, Doors & Siding.- Dean J.

ALegacy Builders LLCI love architecture, always have, always will. This combined with an unhealthy fixation on HGTV's flipping shows led me to purchase a true fixer-upper in a historic neighborhood. I truly didn't realize just how much fixing up my nearly hundred-year-old home needed. This realization dawned on me right about the same time I realized I wasn't a carpenter and neither was my fiance. The gutter backing up and flooding directly into my mail slot one day really helped drive this point home. We sought out and interviewed a few contractors with zero success before stumbling upon Legacy Builders on Angie's List. We liked the aesthetic portrayed on Mr. Louis's website and we obviously loved all the glowing reviews. I really appreciated the first contact, we both interviewed the other for fit. This really made me feel like I had someone genuinely interested in the project and that I wasn't just a paycheck. At the start of the quote process, Mr. Louis took excellent notes, many photographs, and accepted my written list of expectations. He arranged interviews with window subcontractors and offered his advice on what questions to ask and what I should be thinking about long term. There was never any judgment and I was never made to feel dumb or even worse, cheap. It was important to me that all the new work fit the old work and Mr. Louis really took that to heart. Numbers discussed, contracts were signed, and the work began. When everything was said and done, we had all of our windows replaced, the entire house scraped, siding replaced, soffits, replaced, house repainted with two accent colors, gutters replaced, porch screened in, shed torn down and replaced with a custom build that was painted to match the house, carport was essentially rebuilt, subfloors were shored up, the front room where the flood occurred had the wall torn out and rebuilt, wainscoting added, wallpaper added, and decorative accents added. We also had light fixtures changed in a couple of places. That’s a whole lotta work and a whole lotta time to be seeing someone and their crew. It says a lot about Mr. Louis and his crew that we all still like each other and the fiancé and I are planning our next project for a few years down the line (bathroom renos). Throughout this entire process, Mr. Louis was exceptionally conscientious and communicative. I personally am not a micro manager and I really appreciate that the job was done well and executive decisions made when necessary without the project stopping to wait for my opinion. Touching base and checking in is one thing but I don’t like to revisit the same conversation over and over. Mr. Louis was well deserving of my confidence and the house is amazing. Now the sordid topic of coin, despite little surprises coming up here and there, our final numbers were almost exactly what we were quoted! Like, within a couple of dollars. How often does that happen? And our house was transformed from a rotting, haunted mess into a truly beautiful and unique piece of architecture that stands out in our neighborhood. We are proud of our home and looking forward to the next phase of our life (wedding bells and kids). It makes us happy to know that we have someone like Mr. Louis and Legacy Builders to get us through all the changes that will come and the updates that will need to be made as our lives go on and our family grows.- Rachel S.

AHomeworks of VAJim and his crew installed new siding, new fascia, louvered attic vents, a new door, and trim. They repositioned some exterior columns and attached cleats at the bottom to prevent rot. They also painted the entire exterior of the house and garage. The work was done in a professional manner with very good craftsmanship. It is very difficult to find a contractor that performs at this level. I would hire Jim again without hesitation.- Richard S.

BI put wouldn't hire again but there wasn't a button for Maybe. Nothing's done yet. At first they told us it would take 6 weeks to get the windows made. Last they told us it will now take 3 months and that was after we signed the contract. I know Covid is holding things up but I think they should have told us that before we paid. Wish we had known how long it would take.

DThe lady and her husband came out to my home on time to give us a inspection and a quote on putting siding on our house and replacing a few boards. They were very nice and spent a lot of time with us. This is the second time that we have had them come and give us a estimate. How ever we have never received a estimate or a call back even after leaving messages on their phone. I feel that if they did not want to do the job all they had to do is say so. I feel the job was to large for her husband and two workers to do and perhaps that is why they did not furnish a estimate. But a simple call to tell us the job was to big or they did not feel able to do the job would have been in order. Notification would have been appreciated.

AI used them to screen in my patio and do my gutters four years ago, and they did a fantastic job! I needed some repairs done on the screen door on my patio due to my grandkids and dog, and Ken, the owner, came the next day to see what repairs would need to be done. As soon as the necessary parts came in, Jodie, a member of the team, came and fixed the door in under thirty minutes. He was super nice and very professional. Not only did he fix what we asked them to fix, but he also took the time to make sure that all the work they did four years ago was still in good quality! I would highly recommend the A1 Aluminum team to anyone who needs this type of service in the future!

AThese guys did an excellent job on our roof. I'd hire them again in a heart beat if we had another roof to do! Our roof had been damaged by storms and displayed several of the telltale signs of serious shingle damage including creased shingles, missing shingles, impingement, streaking, more. Our insurance covered the entire replacement with us responsible only for our deductible. The material was dropped off the day before they started working. The job took about 3 days to complete and was done under a hot sun. Their crews always arrived on time and worked long hours. We have an in-ground pool close to our house so they covered the entire pool with a large tarp to help keep it clean. Two passive turbines were added to vent the roof and a nonfunctional motorized power vent was replaced with a new one. I had lots of questions which Reshaud and Carlos were more than willing to answer, explaining how they do the job, which eliminated any anxiety I had about the quality of their work. And, everyday they cleaned up the job site including running a magnetic tool over the ground to pick-up as many nails as could be found. I highly recommend Structure Ace for your roof repair, be it large or small.
