Best N Show Pet Salon LLC
My longtime groomer left Baton Rouge and I agonized about where to take my Labradoodle. I finally settled on Best N Show and it was a great choice. It was obvious the staff genuinely cared for my dog and the grooming was done in a timely manner and she looked beautiful. I definitely recommend them for your grooming needs!

    Petz Plaza
I left my 7 year old, 97 lb. Labradoodle at Petz Plaza- JEFFERSON location a little after 8 AM. He was fine and happy when I left him. I phoned the business to check on him at 2:51 PM. The girl put me on hold to check. I was told he would be ready around 6 (closing time) but to get there at 5:45. I was there for 5:35. A few minutes later, a guy came out and told me, "She's working on his face. He's matted. He's panting really hard. We can stop or she'll be another 15 minutes." Never did he tell me, "He's having trouble standing." I would have stopped the grooming immediately. I said, "He'll be fine for 15 more minutes." So I waited. Around 6:15, they finally bring him out. He couldn't walk! He couldn't get in the car! He usually hops right in. He was exhausted and hurting! I'm not sure what happened. The groomer told me she started on him at 4:26 or 29, I can't remember which. I remember it being an "odd" number to tell me. According to the manager, who wasn't there the day of the grooming, she watched videos and he was fine and just seemed to get tired on the table. He had two huge bowls of water at home. I fed him while he was totally lying down. He had to pee sitting all the way on the ground!! He was exhausted and hurting. No doubt about it. Today, he's still sore and limping. Not moving much, less than normal. So we called them because we felt he needed to be seen by a vet at their expense (I never do this, by the way!). They said okay but we had to see their vet in order for them to pay for it. I have a video of yesterday after we got home and showed the vet. He got a thorough evaluation by the vet and I was told he's overweight, he needs his teeth cleaned, he has a mass (might be a fat mass) on his left side under his 13th rib, he has a yeast infection in his ears (got medicine at MY expense. I don't expect them to pay for that!), isn't neurological, and he might have hip dysplasia, which is genetic. Nothing about why he couldn't walk when I picked him up or why he is still sore today. I asked if it could have been exhaustion/heat. He said he thought it could be that he was tired/stressed. I told the vet I gave him baby aspirin which the vet wasn't fond of and said he preferred using Tramadol. He gave me Tramadol Rx, but at MY expense. I didn't need this prior to going to the groomer! When I got home, I found out on BBB, the vet is the OWNER of Petz Plaza or related to the owner!!!! I'm not an "over-protective parent." I just prefer my dog to be able to walk out like he walked into a business. Also, I will never tip again prior to seeing my dog!

I brought him in, and dropped him off. They call when they are done. They do an excellent job. It is a mom and pop store, and they do really great work. I would recommend them to anyone. They do a full grooming, and do a great job. They ask you want you want, and do just exactly that. They do not try to up sell. I have tried a bunch of other places, but they are not anywhere near as good.

The people are very friendly and I'm sure are great with mellow animals. My yorkie is very feisty and doesn't enjoy being groomed. It was $60 to get my 5 pound yorkie groomed and it was a botch job at best. If your dog doesn't agree with getting groomed I wouldn't recommend this place.

The Royal Treatment LLC: The Canine Salon & Spa
I loved the name, Royal Treatment, and had heard good things.  Panda, my long haired lhasa apso, goes to the groomers about once a month.  Sometimes Royal Treatment just takes him as a walk-in for only a shampoo and brushout, with all the standard extras such as: trimming the nails, expressing the glands, cleaning the ears and doggy treats.  This is about $40.00 Other months I add the sanitary cut.  Of course my pet is special, so I want the Royal Treatment :-) Seriously, he has allergies so they use medicated shampoo.  I asked that they not clip his face hair and they have never forgotten.  I can't say the same about other groomers I no longer use.  What I REALLY love is that Panda is not put in a cage while he's there.  They have rooms with a glass walls so dogs can wander, play or sleep.  Usually I drop him off before work and bick him up on my way home so it's wonderful to know that he's well cared for and content.  Of course he looks gorgeous when I pick him up.

    Pretty Paws Grooming by Teresa
We made an appointment with Teresa and as usual she was accommodating regarding getting my dog in. She greeted us in her warm and friendly manner when we arrived. My dog is not interested to play with the other dogs but loves that Teresa always has a special bed for him to nap until it is his turn. He is quirky and she has no problem accommodating him. (He likes to sleep with his leash) I sometimes have special requests regarding how long or short or which areas need tending to. She is always happy to make her customers happy. I feel so comfortable having him groomed here. She takes care when working on her clients and he always smells great and looks great. I have taken him to other high priced groomers and they have cut his skin and hurt him. This has never happened with Teresa and he enjoys coming there. Her prices are reasonable and the attention to detail is great. She is a dog lover and will often go the extra mile for a foster dog that I may have. She really cares about all dogs well being.

My puppy's first experience with a groomer did not go well. Instead of making the process enjoyable, my puppy was very scared throughout the service. I found this provider through Angie's List and could not be more pleased with the experience! The staff went slowly with my pup and introduced the grooming tools at a pace that gave the dog time to understand that she was not going to be hurt. She did great and the staff and I were excited to see her standing on the grooming table like a pro! We have begun a schedule to keep my puppy looking her best as she grows into an adult beautiful Afghan! Thank you!

believe me, my previous groomer said she had won awards but didn't have a clue how to cut poodles. Plus, my dog LOVES going see Christie, who always does a perfect job, treat us both very nicely, and ALWAYS finishes by the approximated time. I can tell she really loves dogs and her profession.

I have many cats and dogs. The main vet I see is Dr. Carl Helouin and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for him. These are people that I have known for 40 years. I lost a cat and a dog last year and I couldn’t have asked for a better friend and veterinarian to help me get through that. I think that all vets are kind of pricey. However, you get what you pay for. I would pay him no matter what he charged. I had been to other vets that had been cheaper and they had not been thorough. People who are serious about pet care is gonna be going there.
