  • Roof repair - Leaked worst when he got finished, I called him to come back to fix it and of course he never did.
    Siding - Looks wrinkled and falls off in some places after a and quot;breezeand quot; comes through
    Ventilation- Installed ridge vent but did not cut a hole no where big enough in ridge of roof, Installed 4 whirly birds, all leak and do not turn because he spray painted them black. The paint froze them up. My attic was 20 deg hotter than what it was.
    Plywood- Had 2and quot; crack in some places and he filled it up with cheap spray foam.
    Showed up at 10:00am sometimes later and only worked a few hours.
    Left siding off during a rain storm and cause water to flood in my upstairs daughters room. Had to replace sheet rock on ceiling in living room, and bottom bedroom at my expense a few months later.

  • First of all I want to say that people should be aware of how Angie's List does not tie their categories together on reviews!!! I was looking to and quot;REMODEL” therefore, I looked under remodeling and only saw those reviews. Under that category, Dan Lahm with Dream Renovations, LLC had an and quot;Aand quot; rating and the highest rating for that category! I had NO IDEA that he had
    horrible rating under other categories until this past week! He is horrible ratings under Handymanand quot;! I WOULD NOT HAVE
    So here's our story! We bought our house 16 years ago; it needed remodeling but like every young couple, we couldn't afford it!
    Long story short, we saved our hard earned cash and thought we were doing the right thing by going on Angie's List to find the very best contractor in our area. (We had issues with word of mouth contractors on smaller jobs in
    the past. Dan Lahm came to us talking a good game about his quality of work and assurances of providing us with a contract that would protect both of us! My husband and I were very impressed with Dan, the contract, the professional looking quote, and his price was in the range of what we had to spend (although we went $5,000 over the contract -which we understand as you get into work, things change). Our journey with Dan began in late February, we gave him a down payment of $5,000 to start purchasing materials. A week and 1/2 later he needed $3500. He said he would purchase enough sheetrock for
    our hallway, 9 interior doors / door knobs, mud, primer and paint all which were included in the price that he gave on the contract! However, he only purchased sheetrock for thehallway, mud, paint, and 1 door. So within the first two weeks we were invested $8,500 or just under 1/2 of what the original estimate was! Also during the first two weeks, we lost contact with him which was followed by him having 3 different cell phone numbers because the numbers he listed on his and quot;LLCand quot; contract didn't exist - which gave us high anxiety by us handing a stranger that much $ and couldn't contact him!
    From late February until mid May, he used his son as help, his girlfriend’s daughter (both whom are teenagers) and a friend without our consent except he did tell us sometimes his son helped out. During this whole time, Dan may have put in
    an 8 hour day 5 times. When we signed the contract, he promised 40 hours a week - this did not happen! Several times,
    he wouldn't come until 10-11 in the morning and would leave before 3 p.m. always blaming his son for not waking up!
    When his son came, he did terrible work that was pointed out repeated by myself or my husband and we were told repeated that it would be fixed - which it was not! He asked for large amount of money every 4-5 days and not much material would show up at our home. My husband and I ended up having to go to Lowe's and make a bulk purchase on a credit card because he never had the $ to pick everything up (although we were handing him checks ranging from $500 -
    $1200 every few days).
    During 3-4 hours that he worked, cigarette butts were everywhere under our carport, driveway, etc. mud would be slung onto things with no regard at all for our property. His son even unhooked our phone line in our bedroom, which we still haven't fixed because we will have to pay Suddenlink to fix it; when he worked in our hall, he didn't remove our a/c thermostat so sheetrock dust is still in there so we can barely see our settings; we have a solid wood front door that a chunk of wood was knocked out of - also knocked a chunk of wood out of our garage door frame and our bedroom frame - all of which was pointed out to
    him. When he first started, sheetrock was mudded and sanded as it should be. The first room looked great; second room looked good but not great, third room - master bedroom is horrible! I wish I could post pictures of it and our two bathroom because they look he was working with a blindfold on his face! We repeated pointed our things to be fixed and he repeated promised to fix it, all while repeated apologizing for the lack of progress in the project. He had an excuse for everything and none was ever his fault! Always blamed his son or the guy helping him! We had to have repeated sit down talks with him as we felt trapped by the amount of $ we had given him and the fact there was a signed contract!
    As he worked in the master bedroom and two bathroom, he stopped sanding and would mud, skim coat and prime them and they looked horrible! I had to beg to get it sanded as much as it is now! In my guest bathroom, before we were able to remodel, I had tried to fix the walls myself after pulling the wallpaper down but I just made it look worse. One night we were having a hog roast and I was embarrassed because the guest bathroom looked so bad (all on me of course)
    so my friends wrote on my walls to please excuse our progress so people using that restroom would not think so poorly of it until we could afford to have a and quot;professionaland quot; fix it!!! Dan claimed from the first day that he wouldn't be able to cover their
    writing! I thought he was just kidding! I knew priming it may not cover it but since he had to mud, I asked him repeatedly to mud over it! HE NEVER DID! Instead, he used my expensive paint and painted over it and you can still see the writing!
    As said earlier, we had 9 doors to change out, Dan only purchased 4 of them, we had to purchase 3 more; therefore, 2 doors didn't even get changed - #1 because one would have been a special order and he never told us that until it was too late and #2 the main door seen from my living room didn't get changed because I was just ready for him to be done!
    He knew that my husband was throwing me a grad. party on Saturday, May 17th and we wanted everything done. He had ample time from the end of February to the middle of May to get things completed! He promised to come back after the party and correct a few things that were severely messed up but he won't even return text messages to me! Our contract states that we have a 1 year warranty on any work done by Dan Lahm with Dream Renovations, LLC but to us - he never completed the job!
    To sum it up - we are out $25,000 - $5,000 over the estimate - the dream bedrooms/bathrooms that I have wanted for 16 years still look like and quot;Iand quot; tried to do it - not a professional! The sad thing is, Dan knew we wanted more work done next year - a big pool deck and a major patio construction and wanted him to do those things for us because we did believe that he was a good wood worker; however, we would not recommend Dan Lahm with Dream Renovations to anyone we know including people we dislike!

  • It went great! This is by far the most professional small business I have dealt with in a while. I felt like we had a connection with them from the start. I requested an estimate and collected three before these guys showed up. Everyone of the others told me that I needed to gut the entire room and start over. Trinity Reps. looked into it and concluded that that was not necessary and that they could just repair around the damaged area itself. They also called in a mold expert (at no expense to me) to determine if there was any present. None was found! These guys repaired the damage at half the cost of the others and were in and out in one day. I was so pleased I signed them to a one year home maintenance contract.

  • I signed a contract with this company on a job that started Oct. 7, 2013 for $3,819.58.  They job was to take 4-5 days.  They worked all that week.  Came back the next week for three days.  Thirty minutes on the fourth day came on Friday.   The third week they did not show up until Thursday.  The contract was for oak crown molding and baseboards but told me later that he had priced it for pine.  I had to pay an additional $307.77 for this and because he did not order it at the beginning of the job, it did not come in until today...October 24, 2013.  The ceiling work was acceptable but the not the floating or painting.  There are holes in the wall, waves from incorrect floating and every roll of the paint roller can be seen in all directions.  White is coming through half the walls. There are ripples where the sheetrock meet and paint drippings down the walls.   He then tells me he and his co-workers are not floaters or painters and that his man that can do this was on another job until the end of the year.  When he came today, I told him I would let him finish the baseboards and molding but I was going to have to hire a professional to refloat and paint. I told him I needed to deduct $400.00 from the balance so I could hire a new painter and he told me he would take all the wood and leave if I did not pay him the balance plus the additional $307.77.  The contract states that the balance is due after completion of the job.  I paid him and he went immediately to the bank to cash the check before he came back to finish the woodwork.  His co-worker was very cordial and told me he understood why I was not pleased and that the owner was wanting to rush the job.  He was on his phone constantly and was not here from 8-4 every day like he said he would be.  Some days they didn't show up until 10 and left at noon for lunch breaks.  He also told me I needed 10 gallons of paint (which I cannot return) and 10 gallons of primer.  Only 2 1/2 gallons of paint were used at $35.00 a gallon and less than 5 gallons of primer.  I purchased the spuce boards, paint and primer myself.  When they were packing up, the co-worker cleaned up the area and collected the trash.  I thanked them for their work but the owner said nothing but walked to his vehicle, got in and left.  I cannot recomment this company's work.

  • My husband and I got up early enough to make sure we were ready when he got there Saturday morning. We waited and waited and he never showed up or called to let us know that he wasn't going to be able to keep our appointment. I called around noon, to see where he was and if he was still coming, and he didn't answer or return my call. To this day, I still haven't heard back from him.

  • Great!  They had a little trouble finding me so they were late on the first day, other than that everything went better than I had hoped. Good service, and they kept me clued in to every step in the process, I didnt even have to stand over their shoulder as I have had to do in the past with other Contractors. I would strongly recommend these guys to anyone! I took bids from three other contractors, none could beat their price!
