  • On arrival and on checking the operation of the heat pump, Tim discovered that the module that controls the fan on the compressor was about to cease operating. (I had to have that unit replaced one before. Tim called York and ascertained that they would pay for a new module. Tim then called a local supplier and ordered the new module. He advised that he would return two days later and replace the module. He place the pump on the auxillary mode so I would have heat on the house while the compressor was down. He arrived two days later (actually earlier than expected) and replace the module and got the heat pump up and running again. I only paid for the time he spent installing the module. Very pleased with Tim and Engineered HAVC. Have used their service for several years and have always had top notch service.

  • The compressor on the heat pump had shut down and unit was running on auxiliary heat. I called Engineered Heat and Air and was advised that they would have a tech to my house by late afternoon. Actually tech (Joe) called me about two hours earlier than expected. I had also requested that a new filter be brought along. (I am a senior and disabled and can't go under the house in the crawl space where the air handler is located). Joe determined that the computer that controls the compressor had imposed a "lock out" on the compressor due to restricted air flow in the system. Joe replaced the air filter and the compressor was up and running again. He checked out everything on the unit and advised that they will need to send someone back in a week or two when the weather is more temperate to be sure the charge is ok, although it appeared to be fine. I was very impressed with Joe. Very professional and thorough.

  • Jamie promised to install a state of the art geothermal. He promised a 5 year payback based on energy performance. After the first estimate he doubled what he said the install would cost. I agreed and paid him 1/2 up front, $27,000+.. He started the work around April 25th. He promised a completed install in 2 days. First, he said he couldn't get the system working because the attic was hot and he didn't expect it would be. Then, when the HVAC still didn't work he called in the HVAC representative who told him there wasn't enough insulation in the attic (some areas had none). Both of these issues he should have been aware of and should have been covered in the basic install. I paid for and installed my own attic fan. I paid for and installed insulation. The HVAC still didn't work and his workers/install had damaged my building. Jamie insisted that I paid in full for the install because he had installed equipment. I explained the equipment did me no good because the system still didn't work. I told him if he gave me a working system I'd love to pay him. 5 months later we still didn't have a working system and I finally gave him a deadline to get the system finished by, 9/30/16. The last day of the deadline my staff pointed out to him that one of the zones didn't even have a thermostat. When the system wasn't working by the deadline i asked him to remove the system and give me a refund. Jamie was unable to give us a working HVAC. He is unwilling to remove his unit so we can move forward with another installer. My staff, business and finances have suffered due to his actions.

  • They have always come out when we needed them except for their emergency service and I am not too happy about that. I had heating problems over the holidays and they did not come out like we expected them to. I am looking around to find someone else who will come out quicker. They did not have enough people working on the holidays so people did not come out on time.

  • Tried to patch several times waiting for new drip pan which never came due to company going out of busines and new company was back logged. Leaking pan in attic dripped through kitchen ceiling twice before businesd finally had a new pan constructed and lined with rubber to prevent rusting.

  • We spoke to four different vendors about the best approach to our unique problem.  Two of the vendors did a great job explaining all of our options.  We chose Comfort Heating and Air.  Owner Mike Buckley did a very good job answering questions and even responded positively to issues raised by another vendor who had some good suggestions. I decided to wait at least 6 weeks to complete my review to make sure that the unit was working well in the hot days of June.  It has been doing a very good job.  The installation crew, Sergey and Leo, did a great job.  Some of the equipment delivered was not correct and they waited patiently for the right parts to arrive.  They were both great problem solvers when issues surfaced in the installation. They worked very hard and cleaned up the work site.  We have a service contract with this company and hope that the same great service continues.

  • Called because outside coils were frosting badly. Mike and David came on 2/20 and performed initial testing as it was determined that refrigerant level was very low in heat pump and a leak in the system was likely. They informed me that more thorough testing would be needed. They added refrigerant to allow the pump to function in a normal manner. Both Mike and David was very helpful about explaining what would be needed to allow the heat pump to function properly. An appointment was made for 2/25, at which time Tim came and did extensive testing and it was determined that the condensation coils in the air handler were leaking refrigerant. Tim was very helpful in explaining this to me and ordered new coils from the manufacturer while he was at my house. He also informed me about what I would need to pay, as the coils were on partially covered by my warrantly. Tim called on 3/2 and informed me that the condensation coil had come in and he would be coming a bit later that morning to install the unit. He came and installed the new coils, a procedure which required a bit of time, but he had made me aware of this. Tim is very professional and thorough in his work and I was extremely pleased with the whole experience. I have used this company before for maintenance of my pump and have always had a good experience with them.

  • Office staff were excellent. Nancy was helpful, responsive, and nice. Service was scheduled quickly and tech arrived on time. Dean was professional, nice, and provided helpful suggestions. There was a disconnect between the tech and what was offered in the 22 point tune up. I did not get one new filter no CO alarms installed. He was not aware of the 22 point special.

  • Technician (Rick) checked the thermostat, looked at the AC unit and told us that the fan motor and compressor needed to be repaired (approximately $2,000) or preferably replaced (around $6,000).  He charged us a service call, travel time and labor.  We called another company who checked the breakers, tested the fan, the compressor and replaced the capacitor, saving us thousands.
