So far, they just move and keep scamming people. There are charges against at least one of the owners, Richard "Ricky" Roberts...every time he is FINALLY arrested, his wife posts his CASH bond (stolen cash) and he's off again....

Unfortunately, this was the only company to even respond to our RFQ. We asked for quotes from 8 different contractors through Angie's List and only Tina replied. Props for that. Tina was friendly in the quotation stage, and when we approved the quote, they arrived within 2 days to start the job. This was the end of the easy part. I learned a valuable lesson...if the people you hire don't do the business parts properly (signed contract, signed change orders, etc), they will probably not do the rest of the work properly either (show up on time, charge the correct amount, follow through, etc). Each day they were going to come work, they told my wife a time they'd arrive, and it could be 3-5 hours later before they'd show, with no further communication. They set up forms, poured in some fill rock, and left it for over 3 weeks. The other issue was that they tried to pour a concrete patio on top of existing sod, to a point where it would have been over 14" high at the edge and cover our outside water faucet and the bottom 2" of siding. I had to redirect them more than once in order to get the job done correctly. Once we were clear about our expectations, they brought in a bobcat and excavated the area properly. Then it sat for 2 more weeks. Our yard was unusable for over a month. Pouring day came rather unexpectedly. The trucks showed up without even telling either of us they were coming. After the pour, the concrete work itself was quite good, but our back yard was completely trashed. They didn't use boards for the truck to drive on, and afterward, they just sprinkled some grass seed and hay over the trenches made by the truck. We're still trying to level it back out, but it's a HUGE job. Since this was in January, they told us that they would have to come back when the weather was better to pour the step to the house. Fine...we dealt with a 14" drop for a while. We paid them $5100. When the weather was warming, we hadn't heard from them to complete the job. My wife texted Tina 3 times over a week before we got a reply, at which time, they said they'd come finish the work. When they arrived, I asked if they could finish (stucco) the vertical part of the wall under the siding. They said yes, for another $200. I said fine. They did it, along with the step from the original part of the job. When the bill came, the invoice said $700, $500 of it for the step. Mind you, not only was the step to be part of the original job, it was only 42"x16"x6", so in no universe is this a $500 concrete step. Not only that, but it's a ****-poor attempt at a step to boot. When I asked Tina about this, she claimed that I had verbally approved the $500 step. For $500, that step had better have some ornate carving and be laced with gold. But no, we got a cheaply-formed block of concrete that I could have done for a $4 bag of quickrete (because that's all they used). After some back and forth, she called me everything in the book except human (If anyone would like to see the texts, I'll be happy to prove this). Since I did agree to pay them $200 for the stucco, I told her she could either amend the invoice to $200 or she would get nothing. She amended it, and added another personal insult on the invoice (also available to show anyone who asks). So I paid it, simply to get these ridiculous people out of our lives. These people seem to know what they are doing, just enough that without clear expectations, they will do the least amount possible. The best part of this job is that it's over. I STRONGLY advise you to seek someone else to do any work, regardless of the type. They saw a family in a nice house and thought we'd be a great target for a little extra shake-down money. Dale Massie Concrete LLC
It went WELL! Wonderful!  We cannot say enough good things about Mr. Massie and his crew.  He was there when he said he would be there, he is definitely 'hands on', working and supervising all work.  He arrives early, works hard, crew took VERY few 'breaks' (compared to other contractors we have had who stopped every half hour for a break or a bathroom run or a cigarette or for food). He is VERY knowledgeable about concrete; he was able to answer all our questions before job began and during job. Mr. Massie is the kind of contractor/worker we wish all contractors would be like.  Very honest, very hard working.

Howard came out and and gave me a bid of what it would cost and a timeframe of when he could do the job.  His bid was fair and his timing was right on.  This was a well done job, Howard does excellent work.  I was amazed to actually see the contractor (Howard) work harder than the crew. He is not one that stops by and gives orders and then leaves.  He was on the site the entire time while the job was being done.  He and his crew were very professional and friendly.  I would recommend Howard Carter to anyone that needs concrete work done.

They had some problems with the job because we have a 6 foot high stockade fence that only has 4 foot wide gates. This limited the size of the equipment that could be used to do the job. They also were not able to start the job right away because of other jobs in process. They came in on one day and cleared the grass and removed dirt to allow the new slab to be flush with the existing one. They built the form boards that same day. The actual concrete pour was delayed several days because one of the workers was ill. The concrete pour went well and the gate was wide enough to allow the use of a small power wheelbarrow to bring the concrete to the backyard. They used expansion strips between the new slab and the new slab, They also formed two break lines in the new slab. The work was professional and neat. They used a curing agent to allow removal of the forms on the same day. Payment was half down with the remainder on completion.

They showed up on time to our first meeting.  After talking with us and verifiying our measurements they gave us an estemate.  On the first day they showed up on time.  They removed the old driveway, front walk and steps.  They then did the frame works and laided out the gravel.  On the second day they showed up shortly after it stopped raining and poured the concrete.  once it was all poured and leveled they went back and brushed it.
