As part of removing the brick wall, Masonry Craftsman Joe Kreger carefully sawed the ends of both the south-facing and north-facing brick walls to match the new siding. The most critical part was creating a waterproof transition from the first story shingled roof to the vinyl siding. Repair Specialist Edgar Cordova removed the topmost row of shingles all the way across the roof. Then he sawed out an approximately ten inches wide strip of the underlying Oriented Strand Board (OSB) all the way across the wall; replacing this with new OSB. Next he over-lapped the existing roofing felt with a new layer (extending well up the wall) of Snow Parrish felt, sealing all the seams. He then placed a row of new shingles. Finally he formed and installed a continuous sheet of flashing from the front (south) side of the house to the back (north) side; carefully caulking all the edges. Finally the siding was deftly mounted over the top edge of the flashing and all the way up to the top of the gable. Each step was very carefully executed and the result is a very attractive, water-proof wall. A few of the bricks of the north-facing brick wall needed to be replaced. Masonry Craftsman Joe Kreger returned for this touch up. His work is a perfect match to the existing wall and he artistically matched a dcor feature used at each window by the original mason. We were continually reminded to call, by each crew chief, if we had any need for additional work to complete the job to our total satisfaction. My opinion: You can pay more, but you cannot buy better workmanship.

I would refer Mid-America to all friends and family. They were extremely easy to work with and my job couldn't have gone better. The communication was great, quality work was performed, and the price was very competitive. Not sure what else you could want.

Because of all the damage in the area, we were put on the list to have the work completed. Once started, we did keep a close eye on the work and if anything was not to our satisfaction, Randy was and quot;Johnny on the spotand quot; to get it done to our satisfaction. We were very pleased and have since had Randy out for dinner.

My husband (who doesn't like dealing with people and renovations :)) handled and dealt with all of the crews for the 3 different jobs that we had completed and he is very pleased with their work ethics and personalities in general. Brad who installed the windows did an amazing job. They really took their time and the windows have given our house a 40 yr and quot;face liftand quot;!!! all of the work exceeded our expectations and we will hire them again for any future needs.

They were very punctual and very professional.  The cleaned up after themselves as they were working.  They did a great job.  We will and have recommended them to others.

Had a hail storm in late May that affected a lot of homeowners. Received several bids and decided on Pickett and Dunn since they were the most comprehensive and we are personally acquainted with the owners family. Gave plenty of notice on the start date and very impressed with their quality of their workmanship. example - they used hammer/nail on roof instead of nail guns, Hand painted instead of using paint sprayer, hauled away and cleaned up after each job was completed.

After contract was signed they kept rescheduling the start date for the job because of problems with there crew. Was 2 months after the contract was signed before work started. Crew was short handed so they took 3 days to complete a 2000 square foot house. Was told it was going to take 1 day. Damaged my landscaping  because they were short handed and left 100's of pounds of shingles on tarps that they layed over my bushes and trees. They say they will replace them next year if they die. We will see. Oil stains all over driveway from compressor and trash flew all over neighborhood and was not cleaned up. I had to do that every night after they left. All the company seemed to be worried about was getting there money and leaving. I would not recommend this company for roof replacement.

Roof looks great:)  Had some minor issues (nails in yard, small oil stain on driveway etc.) that the owner gladly took care of.  In fact, I also had a window fixed that I rebroke the next day and John fixed it the same day at no cost.  Honest owner.  Good results:)

Roof went smoothly. Price was competive, but on the high side. They showed up in 24-hours, had the roof on in a day. However I took away two things from this experience:
    1) DO NOT work with one company for all of your repair needs. The sub-contractors were terrible. The siding is fine, but they left a mess, destroyed a rose trellis (left it in the yard in tall grass, got hit by law mower, almost cost me my lawn mower), didn't complete all the work (few holes left to patch still), I'm still picking up nails in the landscaping, and didn't secure all boxes back to the side of the house properly. GET A QUOTE FOR ROOF, CALL ANOTHER COMPANY FOR SIDING!
    2) Acclaim is as guilty as everyone else I spoke with on this: THEY HAVE NO RIGHT OR PRIVILAGE TO YOUR INSURANCE INFO!!! If a contractor tells you he needs to see what the insurance adjuster told you they'd pay, he is trying to SCREW YOU. Demand a quote for the work and never release your insurance info to them!! Acclaim managed to promise to get everything done for the amount the insurance company paid me... I told them to shove it. They came back with a reasonable quote for work done.
I can't say this part enough... DO NOT LET THE CONTRACTOR HAVE INSURANCE ADJUSTER INFO! They have no right or privilage to that information, that's between YOU and your INSURANCE COMPANY... if they want it, they just want all the money you were given, regardless of how much the work will actually cost. Had I know this info prior to selecting a contractor, I could have saved a lot of money!!!!!!!!!!
