    Cooley Medical
great. they are very helpful. I have used American homepatient and wished I haden't, not good. But Cooley is local so you talk to a real person.

    Home Instead Senior Care
We have used Home Instead for nearly a year and a half to take care of my mother. At first, we used their caregivers to fill in the holes when family members were unavailable, but now we have them on a regular schedule during the normal work week. If you know you will need a caregiver for an extended and consistent period of time, it is best to ask to have a long term service established. You will then generally get the same caregivers. Experience and knowledge of the caregivers can very significantly. If you find the caregiver is not a good fit for the senior, tell the office immediately. They will find a replacement promptly. Many of their caregivers are very effective and do a wonderful job. But every so often you will get a dud. I would go as far as suggesting to make a personal list of the caregivers so you can screen the few bad apples in the future, and ask by name for those who do the best job. We have never had any issues with billing, and the office does a pretty good job of keeping us informed.

    Home Instead Senior Care
I called them emergently as sitters in my Dad's assisted living facility after he took a very bad fall, sadly he declined rapidly over the next week. They came immediately and stayed until he died a week later. Very attentive, very good at calling me and giving reports at their shift changes, they were polite, well spoken and very caring in their interactions with my Dad and with me. It made his last days much more comfortable and gave me a great deal of comfort knowing he was never alone. I would highly recommend them.

They're partnered with the hospital and the came out to see me in the hospital and end up soliciting me in my hospital room. They called me to check how I'm doing but I didn't return their call because I knew what they were calling for and I haven't gotten to the point where I'm making all of those arrangements. My mind is not straight enough with drugs and stuff. The last time I went there they didn't offer me any care attenders and I really don't want that, I didn't care for it at all. I found it very uncomfortable and then later they sent me to physical therapy for them to come to my house but again I didn't care for that very much.

    Jewish Family & Career Services
Jewish Family and Career Services have a whole thing on caregiver support that they do there. They have people who specialize in respite, and so we have used them and they have been fabulous. We have had some of their workers come out and do a 3-hour stint five days in a row - or something like that - and they were fabulous. They can fix lunch, help you unpack boxes, run errands. They could come to your house and if you have purchased everything they can put it in a crock pot and it'll be ready when you get home. They can sit with your loved one and visit with them, watch them sleep, read to them. They could take them out for errands in the car if you wanted them to, or they could just go to Walgreen's and pick up things for your loved one. Whatever you needed. They don't do heavy housework but they can do light housework. They can empty the trash, unload and load your dishwasher for you. They don't do bathing, I don't think. But they might have somebody special who can do that. These people are not nursing assistants, which is what I think you have to have to do bathing. She called me yesterday because I have to schedule some support right now. When you go to their offices, they are beautiful. They actually have, in addition to in-house care, to go there and talk. Group Therapy kind of stuff.

    Norton Home Health
They offer their services to the families of those who are dying, and they are an excellent, excellent organization. They are convenient, friendly, and prompt. I felt totally confident in the information they gave me, some people feel that if they go to a doctor’s office, they will get better information and advice, but these people were very professional and knew what they were talking about. There were doctors involved, but they just didn’t make every visit, because that would not be cost effective. I definitely would be using them again in the future.

    Gould's Discount Medical
I've always had good experiences with them. If there was a problem with the equipment, they are very quick to fix it. They are really great for in-home medical supplies. The price is comparable to other places I've looked, but the service is much better.

    Hosparus Hospice of Louisville
The Oncologist office put us in touch with them for my mother. They were so compassionate, and helpful. Served the whole family by explaining what to expect as my mother became weaker. One of them even showed up at the funeral home and gave me the most wonderful hug. I loved this group.

Dr Bennett was extremely compassionate and provided an excellent experience to an emotional and difficult situation. Having our dog pass away in our home peacefully meant the world to us. Cannot thank Dr Bennett enough.

    Williams Personal Care Mini Home
My father's stay with the William's was a blessed gift to dad. 11 years ago Dad had a stroke followed later by a heart attack. The stroke left dad unable to stand or to use his left arm. Dennis and Leslie made Dad a family member. Their unique location let dad go to the barber shop on his hover round in downtown Jeffersonville. During the summer months he was taken almost every Friday to the River Stage so he could listen to live bands for 2 to 3 hours. on Tuesdays Dennis and Dad made it to the Big 4 Bridge to watch the boats go by or just chat. He had a diet root beer and 2 pieces of licorice to snack on until dark came. They walked home (dad rode). When the bridge opened some of their trips were over the bridge. They rested on the middle of the bridge where music is piped to the benches. On the way back they stopped at the yogurt shack to get a sundae before returning home. Dad was able to go out to eat at many restaurants; The Irish Rover, Lancaster?s, red lobster, Oriental House, International House of Pancakes (Dad?s favorite), Clucker's, kingfish. There are so many eateries near Williams Personal Care. Mini homes are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get. When my sister and I delivered my father, Melvin, to Dennis & Leslie?s home I believed dad would be well cared for because Dennis is a retired podiatrist. I knew he had a good background and understanding of medical conditions. I felt comfortable he would be safe and attended well, but I would not have believed how active he would be. In 16 months my Dad had day trips to French Lick, West Baden, and Woodford reserve. The Williams? included dad in their grocery shopping so he could pick out some of his own favorite foods. He shopped at Christmas time for his family gifts and also into the malls. He was able to take in a White Castle a few times and 3 visits to area doughnut shops. When Carl Casper?s Car Show was at the fairgrounds Dad was there. He saw the gun show this summer too. Put all that together with the dinners out (See my sister?s testimonial), Dad was active and ever busy. Dad?s time at Williams Personal Care & Mini Home has been the best years he has had since he was struck with his health problems. I am so grateful to have found Dennis and Leslie?s care for my dad and will always be thankful for the positive, loving impact they had in my Dad's life.
