    AnyWeather replaced my cooling system. When my AC died, I had 2 companies come to diagnose the problem. Both companies sent sales reps and submitted proposals. One proposal was significantly lower in price. But before I pulled the trigger, I went online again to check reviews of area companies. That���s when I came across Anyweather and saw their good reviews. I also liked that they were a local business so I called to get a proposal. Byron looked at the existing unit, took some pictures, then sat at the kitchen table and asked me questions. We talked about air quality and humidity issues that the other companies did not address. He showed me the pictures of the inside of the furnace (blower and return air) and found debris that looked like it had been there since construction. Byron was knowledgeable, efficient, and personable. He gave me a quote for the same unit I had considered buying from the other company, but added a humidifier for the same price. So, considering a local company, great online reviews, a more extensive analysis of my needs, and a competitive price, I accepted the quote. Dealing with Rebecca in the office via email and phone was a similar experience. She was friendly and knowledgeable and got the install scheduled. Sam & Austin were on time for the install and were extremely friendly & knowledgeable. The replacement of my system was done in a reasonable & timely fashion. Byron even showed up halfway through to check on the progress. Sam cleaned up all the old parts and left my house in good order. He also gave me tips and instructions on how to maintain the unit, the humidifier, the best filters to use, and spent time explaining how to work the programmable thermostat. I couldn't be happier with my new system & my experience with AnyWeather. They will be my go-to for anything related to HVAC! Everyone with whom I dealt was great. I would hire them again without any hesitation.

    Initially, I was very impressed with the fast response and courteousness of both the customer service rep, Susan and the Service Tech, Don. I called about 8 a.m. on a Tuesday morning, just hoping to get someone to look at our unit by the end of the week. I was shocked when they said they would be able to have someone at my house that day. By 9:55 a.m. I had received a call from the Service Tech and he was on his way to my house. Once there, I showed him where everything was located and he started diagnosing the problem. After about 30 minutes he came in to tell me what the problem was; a bad "run capacitor". He gave me a VERBAL quote for replacing the run capacitor, cleaning the condenser coil and the diagnostic service call. This quote was he he said, "right at $500". Then he made another suggestion, adding another part, a start capacitor, which he explained would prolong the life of our unit. The quote for adding the start capacitor to the other service items was $627. I asked how much it would be if we just did the start capacitor at a different time and he told me that part alone was around $312. I thought, wow, that means we are getting that part for 1/2 the price it normally would be and asked my adult son who was there with me what he thought and we decided to go ahead with the start capacitor, the run capacitor, the coil cleaning and obviously the condenser coil cleaning. All of this was verbally discussed. Don did not have his tablet in the house with him, he was using his phone (gave some excuse, but I don't remember), so he didn't give me nor have me sign any quotes until everything was said and done. Don finished the work in about 30 minutes, took my payment and I was on my way back to work. Before he left, he asked for my email so that he could email me a copy of the invoice. Much to my surprise, when I looked at the email later in the day, the actual quote for the run capacitor, condenser coil cleaning and service call was actually $420, not $500. Now maybe that is not a big deal to some people, but to me that is a significant difference and had I known, I probably would have decided to just have the necessary service and not the added service he was so highly recommending. Additionally, the invoice he sent me didn't list each of these services separately, they were listed under a "Summer Savings Package 2" which tells me the Service Techs are being pushed to sell this package to make additional money for the company. In hindsight, I should have had him give me the written quotes before agreeing to the service and I might have caught the upselling scam. If I use Arlinghaus again, I will make sure I review a written quote before agreeing to any service. I am glad they came quickly and I'm glad my a/c is working, but I now feel like I was scammed to purchase additional parts that might not have been necessary.

    He called and told us when he would be here, and he did do that. Told us what was needed done and we had him to it. Everything went very well. We are totally happy. Even the pricing was awesome. Very good!! Couldn't get any better than this. We recommend this company and tech Bobby to everyone!!

    Mike and Dwayne were punctual, professional and very polite. Work area was kept very clean. They stayed focused on completing a quality job. They were careful to review the system with me before leaving. Great job!

    We were pleased with the quality and price of the service. Service tech Ryan did a thorough and skillful job. He found problems we didn't know existed, and gave us several estimates for the work to fix them. We're having him come back to do those necessary repairs and also to add an air cleaner to our system, something we've desperately needed for quite some time. We must mention that Schneller Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning apparently does normally charge an $89 service fee, but we had $49 Angie's List coupon so that is all we paid. We want to note that normally we refuse to deal with home service companies that charge fees to walk in the door. That is why our ratings in this review for Price and Professionalism were both A's. Otherwise, those two scores would have been much lower. We firmly believe work estimates should be free of charge. We only patronize companies who are willing to state all charges up-front and without charge.

    I don’t really understand what they are telling me about on the service on that. I know that they explained it to me but I just can’t retain it and they did leave information about the furnace and all. The work was satisfactory. They do send the same man all the time for me and I do appreciate that. I can call them and they can come the same day. They call me maybe 20 minutes before they are here and they are here. Their professionalism is very good. The owner of the company was a friend of my husband so we felt like we had special attention.

    I read reviews on here and chose Independence Mechanical because it didn't seem like they would try to upsell me. We're not in a position to replace the unit at this time. "Mike" was dispatched within 2 hours and the service manager gave us a 30minute advance call. Mike started with the little things like the furnace filter to make sure the airflow was appropriate, then checked capacitor reading (no upsell there as it was fine). Checked Freon level. I asked if he could be sure the recharge wouldn't just blow back out. He informed me the levels were not that bad so the leak was likely minimal, but the levels were poor enough that it had likely frozen up. He charged it up and we're good to go. Price was VERY fair. I will definitely be calling them when the time comes to replace the unit and/or furnace.

    They did not follow up for an assessment of the job done.  I would have told them what I found unacceptable if they had.  
       I asked if there would be a mess at the beginning of the job and was told no.  I din't check each vent prior to his leaving and didn't feel that I needed to.  He showed me what he had removed from the system.  I saw scrapes on my wooden stairs, but he proved that his machine had not been the culprit.  
    My daughter came home from work and told me that her closet was a mess.  There was dust everywhere and she had to remove her clothes and clean out the closet.  This prompted me to go to each room and investigate.  I had had Molly Maids clean my home the day prior, so I knew that the dust found under each of the cold air returns was his doing, not theirs.  
       I have delayed commenting and almost did not tonight, but felt that they should followup, even if on paper instead of phone.  
       I don't wish to share this with anyone but you as I don't want to 'bad mouth' them, but felt you should know because you are the reason I even used them.

       I have used Schneller for a number of years now for my 2009 furnace and heat pump, and I always have been impressed with the courtesy and professionalism of their technicians.  But I ended up being disappointed this time and here is why:

      The tech brought to my attention that the 10.0 capacitor had dropped to 8.9, and he showed me the number on his little tester.  That didn't sound too alarming to me, but he said that once they start dropping that could go really fast, and I could end up with a costly repair.  He said it could be replaced for $199.  The capacitor is such a small simple looking thing, I was amazed at the price tag.  It seemed a high price, but I try to keep on top of things as far as maintenance goes, so I agreed to replace the one I had.  Note: the location in the furnace was easy access and installation took about one minute.

       Now, the tech wanted me to know that he was not pressuring me to purchase this; I even agreed with him. But he had done his part when he planted the seed of fear...the fear of what could go wrong in the worst case scenario. 

      After all was said and done, I went online just to find out more about these capacitors.  I was again amazed to see that the type in my furnace could probably be purchased for around $10.00 or less.  This made me feel that I was truly taken advantage of by the company. 

      The honorable thing for them to have done in this situation would have been to inform me that this product is something I could buy myself, and have on hand to replace a little down the road when the level dropped more. Considering the 8.9 reading, I am pretty confident that immediate replacement was not critical; I think the tech probably should have advised me accordingly.    

       Online I also learned that other people had had (with OTHER companies) a similar experience of being overcharged for this item.   So the whole industry apparently does this.  It's hard--you appreciate reliable, courteous, knowledgeable technicians to help keep things in good working order, yet you have to be on guard that they don't prey on your ignorance and fears.    Again, no one twisted my arm; I could have chosen not to expend the $199 at this time.  To others: Just be aware when dealing with any of these companies, and do due-diligence research when it is sensible to do so before spending unnecessarily.  Watch out for when they play to your fears and ignorance. I believe that techs are probably trained and incented to sell products.

       Does this mean I will not use Schneller again?  Above I said that I would not, but really the answer is maybe. I may still use them...but I will probably also check out other offers/companies, and not be so loyal as I have been.
