    Murray Calloway County Hospital
The staff at Murray Hospital is amazing. Our daughter in law had a piece of meat lodged in her throat for over 24 hours, and when we got to the hospital she was scared and dehydrated and didn't know what to do. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff from the secretary to the nurses to the physicians assistant were all over the situation, comforting her and my son, and telling us step by step what they were going to try, and why. When the doctor they called in got there, he was kind and attentive, and put all of us at ease. I would recommend this hospital to anyone and everyone.

For such a small town, they are impressive. They will treat you like they are you neighbor for all their life.

    James B Haggin Memorial Hospital
I was very impressed with the nursing staff at the hospital. They were preparing for the health fair the next day, so they were waiting in the lobby to help patients get their bloodwork done. Everyone was very happy and friendly, even though it was first thing in the morning. I was escorted to the lab and was seen right away. I was very impressed with the hospital. The next day they sponsored a health fair for the community that was absolutely wonderful.

They have a good emergency room. They've got a good imaging department, X-rays, MRI's and they have an outstanding physical therapy department. I'm in walking distance of the hospital. We only go to the office for registration or X-rays or tests. I know I had surgery there in January and I was there at 6:00 in the morning, surgery was scheduled at 6:30. And at 6:30, I was in the surgery room and at 7:30, I was at home watching TV. Everything I've had done there has been outstanding. The only bedside manner I had was with this orthopedic surgeon and he's really a great guy. My wife was there two nights when she had the stomach flu real bad and she loved it.

I have a standing order for blood work every two months. Service is prompt and the lab report is faxed to family dr and rheumatologist promptly. After signing paperwork they mail the lab report to me promptly. The entire staff is excellent. in all areas.

Went really good other than not getting back to get prep on time. My appointment was at 9:45. They had told me that I would get there and go back and they would prep me. I didnt go back until almost 12 :/ That was really disappointing but once I got back and after my surgery it was excellent. They treated me great.

Excellent bedside manner. Great with kids and mom's too. Wouldn't trust my children's care with anyone else.

    Jewish Hospital - Shelbyville
I managed to poke myself in the eye with a crochet hook while vacuuming (note: do not hand-vacuum around the knitting basket!!!!). But since I could still see, I figured I was fine and went on to a music gig in Lexington. It was dark, so no one said anything about my eye, although I kept it closed most of the time because it really hurt. Then I stopped in a gas station bath and saw myself in the mirror, and OMG!!!! Horror Movie Eyeball, just in time for Halloween. Anyway, I decided to stop by Jewish/Shelbyville's E/R on the way home, because I was worried. So it was probably 1:15 in the morning but they jumped right to, got me in there, rinsed my eye and did an eye exam and were just super in terms of explaining the risks and what I needed to do for followup care (they even recommended an opthalmologist I could most likely see first thing in the morning). I guess the thing that struck me the most was the wonderful combination of sympathy and willingness to treat me like I wasn't a total moron, even though I'd managed to stab myself in the eye with a crochet hook and then drive around the state for like, 6 hours before seeking treatment ... DUH! Anyway, they handled me just right and I appreciated that they were honest about my needing to go see a specialist in the morning. I've had great experiences there on two other occasions as well, in both cases when I went in to get checked for neck injuries following two different hit-and-run car accidents (that was kind of a bad-karma period in my life). Anyway, on every occasion the staff was great. Even though I didn't have insurance for a couple of those visits, they treated me just as well as anyone else. I've been fortunate to avoid injury the last couple of years, but if something happened again I wouldn't hesitate to go back there.

I was having lower back pain. I was examined by the attending Dr. on duty. I didn't have a long wait and was seen upon arrival. I was given a script and told to make an appointment with my Dr.
