Window Replacement reviews in Richmond

  • The man who comes out, his name is Joe. He was excellent. Very nice guy, he was very helpful. The crew who came who installed the windows, they were fast. They knew what needed to be done. They installed Pella windows and they were certified installers.

  • I was very impressed with how this company took the "fear" out of purchasing new windows. The quality and affordability of their Elite Series/TK2 were wonderful. From the beginning to the end of this process was quick, easy, and understandable without lots of hoops to jump through. Our financing was done before the salesperson even left and the window installers were very professional and were extremely conscientious about not leaving a large mess. They kept us informed of the progress and any potential issues. They were very thoughtful about ensuring this purchase was installed correctly and took their time to get it right. It was a great feeling to make this big of a purchase and feel that the quality, professionalism, and service were top notch.

  • The Window Source of Lexington not only saved me a whole lot of money, but provided a great product, quality install, and a no-hassle approach that didn't involve a high-pressure sales pitch. One of the "big name" replacement window companies came out and quoted my job, which involved a lengthy sales pitch, a "this deal is only good if you agree right now" routine, and an absolutely ridiculous price. Fortunately, a friend recommended Randy and Dee Milby with The Window Source and the experience was great. They are good honest people and really helped us get the quality replacement windows we needed, without the hassle and sticker shock we had experienced with others. Highly recommend The Window Source!

  • Job was completed , some windows the seams between window and frame were uneven , when I called to request that they come and address the problem because the windows did not open and close easily they said it was an adjustment I should do, After paying over $12,000 I felt they should install them correctly, they broke blinds and never informed me .Would never use again!!

  • Absolutely high quality materials and workmanship at a good price. Work was done on time, efficiently, and cleanup was complete.
The installation was done with care to not cause any damage to landscaping or any other areas.
Mr Thompson has lived up to his longstanding reputation in this area and is great to work with. He has been able to give me good advise and recommendation on the materials and type of installation I needed to choose from. Also helped with planning for other phases of renovation not connected to current projects.
On a previous job about a year prior to the Gutter and Soffit work he installed new prime windows and went out of his way to correct some deficiencies in the house not connected to his contracted work.
All his work is top quality.

  • We selected Gilkey Windows because of what we judged as their superior design, construction and service.
We were not disappointed in the service and continue to be impressed with the workmanship of the windows.  Because of the cold weather the window installation was moved back several times but Gilkey of Central Kentucky stayed in contact and kept us up to date.
One of the selling points to us was that Gilkey continues to have  their own installers, they do not subcontract that work out.  I was told  that their installers have in most cases many years of service within the Gilkey organization.  That turned out to be true.  The crew of two replaced 22 windows in two days, left no mess and provided NO earthly reason for a call back.  When the Gilkey staff called to ask if there were any issues with the windows or the installation all we could do was sing the praises of the company and their associates.
The rugged design does cut down slightly on the amount of glass surface but we have not noticed the difference.  The noise level from outside has been significantly reduced.  Although not the warmest of summers, our air conditioning expense was about 22% less than the previous year and I believe at least some of that has to be attributed to the windows.  And there was still enough cold weather in March with blustery winds that we could feel the difference between the new Gilkey windows and the old insulated windows as far as much less cold air infiltration.
We waited this long in order to "digest" our feelings about Gilkey and the experience altogether.  If we have to invest in windows again, it will be Gilkey.  No "buyer's remorse" here, no question about that!.

  • Anderson provided new window under warranty but later indicated that original window was damaged due to builder error and recommended I purchase a new window from Anderson.    Since I already had a nice and new Anderson window delivered decided to hire Charles initially to evaluate if he could in fact replace the window with the new window I had received from Anderson.   After some deliberation he agreed he could do the work and started promptly to replace the window.    During the install we also noticed some water damage on bottom sill which he promptly repaired.

Very professional approach and will not engage in a project he does not believe he can complete.   Takes pride in his work and is very deliberate in his actions.     .

We are extremely pleased with his work and service value.

  • Charles made a preliminary visit to the house to scope out what we wanted done and how much time it would take and what it would cost.  He was frank about what he was equipped to do and had helpful advice about a couple of chores requiring specialized equipment.  He completed the work in the time and for the price agreed.   He was also willing to return on short notice for a minor plumbing problem.  We are very pleased to have found competent and reliable help and have made arrangements to have him back.

  • The salesperson (Leigh) was very friendly and worked with us on price so that we could afford this update. They also offered us financing so it wasn't as frightening.
When the 3 men came to install the windows they were early and finished in one day! This was done 2 days after our windows came in, so I feel this was very quick. The workers, (led by Bobby), were friendly, professional, understanding, and simply nice to have around all day. Some people come to do work and never want to talk or ask questions. These gentlemen were kind and wanted our input and opinion. They cleaned up (inside and out) when they were finished and kept us informed of everything being done. They also went above and beyond, giving us a few tips for upkeep and caulking a few spots that wouldn't have been required of them just to make sure it looked nice when they were finished.
We also asked the installers to salvage as much of the old windows as they could and they made sure to be gentle when removing them and piled them neatly in a corner of the yard. With all this, 18 windows in 7 hours was pretty amazing!
The windows are top quality and we can already tell a difference in our home. It's quieter, warmer, and there isn't air moving about.
The only B I gave was for responsiveness. Though the company answered all of our questions and the installers were wonderful, the downtime in between when we were waiting for our order to come in was a little nerve-wracking. I would have felt better with just an update phone-call sometime in the middle.
Overall, I will consider America's Window for any other work we need done and would certainly recommend them anytime.

  • Great.  Called several window companies for an estimate on a custom bow window in our 38 year old home.  The original was custom built, huge (73" x 114") and covers almost an entire wall in our living room.  It was made from 12" x 12" glass panes with wood lattice in between.  The estimates were very high ranging from $4,600.00 to $6,000.00.  One company even told us that the window could not be replaced and that we should just have it repaired (replacing all the individual panes and wood).
I called Window World because they had installed all the new replacement windows (10) in our house several years before. The representative from Window World was amazed at the size of the original window and brought his crew chief in to take a look.  They measured, talked, scratched their heads, talked some more and measured again.  They came up with a plan and said "yes we can do it."  The window had to be built and shipped, which they said would take 6 to 7 weeks.  Six weeks later the crew showed up and installed the window (5 panels with 2 casement side panels), wrapped everything in vinyl and cleaned up.  It's gorgeous!  We noticed a drop in our electric bill right away.  The crew said it was the largest window they had ever installed.  Thank you to Bill Cox and all the crew you did an awesome job!
