    I live about an hour away from the office and I called two hours before my appointment today checking to see if there were any later appointments since it was possible I would be slightly late due to flooding and road closures in the area due to recent storms. There were not any other appointments, so I did everything I could to leave as soon as possible instead of my normal time in order to compensate for possible delays. The staff member I spoke to was nice and suggested that I call closer to my appointment time if I was going to be late in order to allow for someone else to squeeze into my spot and then I could take their appointment time. Upon leaving for my appointment, I ran into construction on the interstate and immediately called to say that I would be between 5-10 minutes late as I had been advised to do. This phone call was answered by an extremely rude staff member who stated that no one would have told me such a thing and then transferred me to someone else who was also extremely rude. This second staff member informed me that if I would not be seen if I was more than 5 minutes late. This came as a surprise since I have been a patient for 8 months and this was the first anyone had ever stated this. After a futile conversation with this person, I proceeded in an attempt to make the appointment and walked in the office doors precisely 5 minutes late. One staffer was on the phone and the other was checking in another patient. It was 3 minutes later before I was helped and I was then informed that I would NOT be seen! I understand that their time is valuable as a physician, but so is mine as a patient and the drive to and from the office is close to two hours for me. Additionally, the same rude staff member that I spoke with on the phone was the same one that I had provided my updated insurance information to prior to my last visit. She, however, failed to process the information which resulted in unfounded charges and more frustration in trying to sort it out. I was not able to obtain refills for my medications and was told it would be the 2nd week of May before I could be seen. Please keep in mind, this ordeal was because of unpreventable circumstances that resulted in being FIVE minutes late. Unfortunately, these two instances are not the only negative experiences that I have had during my time as a patient. I have requested my records and have scheduled a new patient appointment with a different office.

    I didn't have any trouble getting appointments, the only thing I didn't like was having to pay upfront, but the amounts were correct after it was filed with my insurance.
