    UK Health Care
We were extremely worried and thought that we were going to have to wait a long time before they would call us in, however everything went fairly quick, we had nurses and doctors checking on us constantly, the hospital has a special emergency room for kids, and the stuff is trained to treat kids and to make them feel comfortable even in painful situations, I would have the UKY Albert Chandler Hospital as my first choice if we were having an emergency.

    Kinnicutt, Dr. Fred
Dr. Kinnicut spent time talking with both my son and myself.  I never felt rushed.  I always felt like he was REALLY LISTENING to me. Because of Dr.Kinnicut's skill, and the way he and his sraff treated us, every member of our family has grown  to be happier, and more content. I cannot  recommend him enough.

I see two nurse practitioners. I see one of them for talk therapy and the other one for medication checks. I see Pauline Siders for talk therapy. I see Laura Lynn Weddle for medication checks. They are both incredibly responsive in terms of listening. They have remodeled their office and have added staffs. They are coming from a more holistic approach.

    Elliott, Dr. Robert E
Only one medicine helped me for about 1 1/2 years. My tolerance to it had built up, and it has not working as good as it was. But it was still helping. I moved during that time, and the first doctor I went to, did not want me to be on the medicine. I got in very bad shape. About five months later I lucked up on Dr. Elliott. The first thing he said was that if something has been helping a patient, that seemed like a real good place to start and/or continue. He will answer all my questions, and explains everything to me. He does not rush me. The main thing is I have confidence in him. Everyone tells me he is very good. He is willing to help you any way he can. He is also the only doctor I have had (and that is quite a few) that told me after we got the medicine right, I could go to 6 month appointments. All the other doctors were making me come every month just because of the kind of medicine I was taking. This was during the time the medicine was working great for me, and no changes had been made to my medicine in over a year. His staff is great-very friendly. They do return your calls and order medicine for you if you run out. They call you a day or two ahead to remind you of your appointment, and try very hard to find appointments that can accommodate your schedule. He has evening appointments two days a week. I usually have to wait about 30 minutes to see him in the evenings, which is not bad.

He is really friendly. I've only been to him about 3 times but I really like him. He really works with me. He seems to keep close tabs on my medications and how they are working for me. He will make changes if need be.

He is very compassionate and easy to get into. He does not accept insurance, so that is one thing someone needs to know. I love his work.

    Cox, Dr. Stephen M.
Dr. Cox is a kind, caring and extremely competent psychiatrist. My case was not an easy one.Depression and anxiety have plagued me as far back as I remember. Over the years, I have seen numerous psychologists and psyhiatrist with little or no positive results. It was not until I began seeing Dr. Cox was I able to experience the relief I was seeking and he has continued to work closely with me to maintain a sustained length of a stable condition. During periods when my depression and anxiety returned, he carefully prescribed medications which helped me get through my most difficult periods. Dr, Cox never simply prescribed the most popular anti-depressant of the moment, but rather carefully managed my case by tailoring a regimen for me personally.Dr. Cox carefully monitors my mental health and prescribes medications suited to whatever is going on with me at any given time. his work with me has changed my life. For a long period now, I have been free of the extremes of my condition, and while there have been setbacks, now, under his care and competence I experience only very short periods of depression and anxiety. Knowing my medical history as well as he does, his response keeps me on an even keel. I am happy to say that I have been free of drepssion and anxiety for the most part for the last two years. I know know what  "normal" feels like and life is fulfilling and filled with activities that I previously would never had been able to take part in. I recommend Dr. Cox's services to anyone in need of mental health needs.

    Elliott, Dr. Robert E
Excellent. He always explains the disease process and drug therapy (if needed) in as much detail as I request. Listens intently to history of past decisions of therapy rather than just randomly prescribing a medication that may have already been attempted. After 12 years of struggling, I found relief from my disease within 2 weeks of my first visit.

    Kinnicutt, Dr. Fred
Dr. Kinnicutt first met with both my son and I together. and then tested, interviewed and evaluated my son. When we met with the doctor the second time, he took my son in for a talk first.and then I spoke with Dr. Kinnicutt privately about what his diagnosis was. He told me his diagnosis. He explained what the diagnosis meant and gave me exaples of what that type of behavior would "look like". Then he asked me if I had seen those particular behaviors in my son, and asked if I agreed with his diagnosis. Then he talked about the records from my son's last psychiatrist. We talked about what he agreed and disagreed with the former doctor's findings. The whole experience left me with a wonderful feeling that I was involved with my son's treatment. So often in the past, I have left psychiatrists office feeling like I had no control in the situation. Just someone else with a degree, asking me for a co pay, and trust. Dr. Kinnicutt made me feel like I was a part of it. He really listened and valued what I had to say.
