Remodeling Kitchen And Bath reviews in Richmond

Shawn remodeled our bathroom last year. He completed such a fantastic job on that project we didn't hesitate to have him and his expert crew (big thanks to Dave-terrific work!) remodel our kitchen. Now it's completed and looks amazing, just beautiful and exactly what we had envisioned. We replaced all the cabinets, even extended them to include a double pantry with roll out shelving, and a built-in desk, removed a useless closet to add even more counterspace and cabinets. The marble backsplash and white quartz countertops are perfect. They replaced the canned lights in the cathedral ceiling with pot lights and installed under cabinet lighting that totally transformed visibility in all corners of the kitchen. We already had existing bamboo flooring and they were extremely careful to protect them during the entire process-not a single scratch or mark! We highly recommend Shawn and his crew! They did an outstanding job, very reasonably priced, very personable and responsive to all our requests! Fabulous company!

Trec performed an extensive remodel of our home. This included demo of the main floor, structural changes to load walls, and an addition of several rooms. In addition, electrical wiring and plumbing was re-routed and/or moved to new locations. The work required all aspects of home construction - grade changes, foundations, concrete, brick, framing, roofing, insulation, electrical, plumbing, drywall , cabinets and finish carpentry. The work extended over approximately nine months and very few delays were encountered. We are extremely pleased with the final product. Our home was transformed into a much nicer and livable structure. We would highly recommend this company for any type home construction whether a remodel or complete home construction.

Not good. Lady in office was rude and exhibited poor customer service skills. Refused to give us any guidance related to pricing of granite. Very unusual experience. Later went to a competitor and had no problem.

I found him on Angie's List. We had to part ways because we just agreed that he would just leave the job. He said I could find somebody else to finish. It was supposed to be a two week job -- actually he said 12 to 15 days -- that's what the contract said. They started on the 30th of January and the last day was today, the 9th or March, and he decided that I should have someone else to finish the job. So we agreed that what I paid him already was $2,875. Pretty much all it was was demo and tiling, the tile job. They did the tiles on the floor and walls. The demo went great, it was actually done in a day and a half. The owner told me I should get someone else to finish the job. I thought his price was reasonable.

I am extremely happy with the Mr. Joe Brashers from Dauehauer. It goes without saying that he gets the job done well. What puts him among the best is that he is patient to walk you through all the options and listen to your concern. Very professional: takes off shoes when entering my house; respond to my text messages immediately. I will have an upcoming bathroom remodeling and I sure hope he could do the plumbing work then.

One of the best subcontractors I've ever worked with.  I highly recommend them for anyone in the Richmond KY area.  They completed the job on time and was easily accommodating to additional request during the project.  They kept the area of work clean after each day of work and so detail oriented that the screws on the light switches were ALL aligned in the same direction.  HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND......!!!!

Very prompt initially. Installed floor tile and toilet. Sewer order was coming from toilet, emailed and spoke to Brandon to come fit it. After several emails, voice messages and phone calls he sent me an email saying they were working on they were working on a a ladies house that would take a month and would call me when they had time to come back. That was over a month ago. I called another company to fix the is due. The smell isn't as bad as before but still lingers. The cost was $235, but I had $250, between Brandon and David they had no money on them to give me my $15. Saying it would be deducted if they came back. Brandon, send me my $15.

From the moment I left a message on Mike's phone to the last visit when I paid, everything went much better than I anticipated. Having dealt with a previous contractor when having tile work done several years ago the experience was less than pleasant. But Mike was prompt and efficient. His strong points were regular communication and staying within the deadlines and time projections he set. The contractors were professional and always cleaned up at the end of the day. The quality of the carpentry work and the tile work was outstanding. The tile work involved patterns and alot of small detail cuts that came out looking great. Mike was also helpful in suggesting someone to help us pick out the tile and consult with us on ideas since at the beginning we had some ideas on what we wanted to do but not sure. His advise and guidence was also appreciated.  Great value for the money we spent. Very pleased with the experience and the results.
Very positive experience, I have already asked him to give me an estimate on another project I have in mind.

We picked the counter tops and sink  and settled on a date and a time . Everything prior to the day of installation was great, very professional and on tract. The day of the install they were several hours late which resulted in the crew being at the house well past 9 PM and the job not being completed. We were told someone needed to stop by and finish the caulking. When I returned from out of town the first thing I noticed was the finished edge was not what we had ordered or paid extra for. We specifically asked and paid for an Ogee finish and got a standard rounded edge. When I called the store manager and informed her of this she proceed to tell me that is what I ordered. I was lucky I had the contract in front of me and pointed out that the language was very specific and so was the extra charge for the finish. She then did apologize but offered nothing else. I told her how disappointed I was and again nothing in the way of choices or fixes. I told her I at least wanted the extra money back I paid and she agreed.
The bottom line is I left the counter tops in place because this was an upgrade that we knew would have to be done for when we sell the house in the future. If this had been where we knew we were going to stay long term, I would have had them removed to be honest. We were told our check for the difference would be mailed that day but it took several phone calls and about a month later we received it.
Everyday I look at the counter tops and am reminded of this experience so I felt I would join Angie's list and give others a heads up on what should be a positive change.

Working with this company was very stressful from the start. As soon as we paid half the amount of the project they increased their quote; raised it by several hundred dollars. This was our fourth quote for the job overall, the first being a very low (verbal) bid. When I spoke with our contact person to express my dissatisfaction she responded as if I had questioned the morality of the pope. She was upset with me and told me that I wasn't even in their office with my wife initially (so wrong). Clearly she had me confused with someone else. Upon speaking with her supervisor I simply expressed my dissatisfaction and was told that we would be made happy. We were not made happy. They didn't do anything they said they would do and I ended up doing a lot of the work myself; things we were not apprised of at the beginning. And although the project is completed I still have carpentry work that needs done.

Throughout the project every time we spoke with a different person we got a different story. The template workers said the base cabinets were a little out of level but it shouldn't be a problem. The installers said it was a problem and we had to go out and hire a carpenter to level the cabinets. An office worker said we could have a plumber come the same day the granite was installed to finish out the sink (and quot;no problemand quot;) but it was a different story upon installation. One person said they would remove the old countertops for a small fee. Someone else told us that they did not do that at all. This was a pattern of working with this company.

We were stressed, confused, perplexed and our kitchen was a mess (unusable) for two weeks. Instead of having them put a 15 yr. warranted sealant on the countertops we decided to do it ourselves since we do not trust this company.

Save yourself some stress and heartache and do not go with this company.
