Chimney & Fireplace reviews in Park Hills

The technician that came out was great! He left the house clean (no soot), was very honest and upfront about what he was doing and what he saw. He gave several recommendations to getting our fireplace working, in a range of pricing. He also found our dampener, which was tucked away in the chimney, but we thought it was lost for the last several years!

They had to come out 3 times because they didn't have the right equipment or something went wrong but they gave me $50 off. They agreed to come out on a Saturday to get the job done and they did get the job done properly from what I can see.

Hearthside preformed quality work at reasonable rate. They exhibited a fine attention to detail and dedication to complete the job on time, even staying late to finish. Micha and his team went above and beyond in completing the re-pointing I had contracted.

Roger and his crew were very responsive and punctual.  I had a lot of obvious cracks in the brickwork and some not so obvious deterioration of the mortar.  The work done was very through, much of the work done was on cracks that I didn't even know were there.  All brick replacements were done using salvaged bricks from a previous chimney repair and I can't even tell which bricks were replaced.  Excellent work.

Bruce is very punctual, always showed up when he said he would and always called when he said he would.  Work is very professional and the worksite was very clean after the job was finished.  Bruce does excellent work is very straightforward to work with.

They were very helpful. Even though they were booked up they found time to
schedule us within a week. Josh the serviceman was very helpful explaining what
was wrong with our fireplaces lack of draw. He performed only the services that
were needed and gave us a full report. I would recommend to anyone needing fireplace service.

We looked up Firewood on AL and found 6 providers, one we had used before, the other five we had not. I'm "Old Fashioned" so I Know what a Full Cord is, I used to be able to order firewood that way 20 years ago, unfortunately we now are offered "Face Cords", or "Loads". I am Yet to be able to get a Satisfactory or Consistent measure as to what those are EXACTLY... I think that is the Point. Because I have had varying degrees of satisfaction with those providers I decided to look them up this year(newer Member) and after reading All the reviews, we went with Motz. They were not the cheapest per say, but the reviews were glowing, and the comments regarding the Quality of their firewood compared to others sounded like some of the issues I have had over the years,  un-seasoned, dried out, or junk pieces, and level of service, Quality is Worth my paying for and Looking For.
We must say, we are Very Pleased so far! The purchasing was simple, and they understood that I wanted 3 FULL Cords! The price was not the cheapest, but was close to some of the others. Communication, delivery times, delivery, all went as promised. We had the wood just delivered and dumped on our driveway as the moving and stacking is a bit tricky, so we do that and usually get a small discount, this was the same... Consider this if comparing our price quote to others. The wood was Delivered as promised and looks like it will easily stack up to the ordered amount, and is  All Hardwoods, we are still moving and stacking it. The Quality looks good, Well Seasoned, but not too dry as to burn right up.. Looks Like Good Firewood!!
Obviously, with us...  as with most Angie's Customers, the proof is in the final result, and that we will know after the winter hits! So Far, We are Very Pleased with the Purchase, and would Buy from them again based on our experience.
And Thank You Motz for understanding our Needs, and delivering the Requested amount... They Understand FULL CORDS... This Ole Guy Likes That! ;)

OK... Update: We got all the Firewood Moved and Stacked and we estimate we received approx. 3.25 cords... Excellent! This is the Kind of Service I was Looking For, willing to Pay For, and provide at our Own Business! Thank You Again Motz... we will Definitely be Ordering AGAIN, and Have Been Telling all of our Friends and Inquisitive Neighbors!! Great Job... ;)

Other than delays caused by persistent rain, they did a Great Job, and Very Fast once the weather broke! Only had 2 items they had to correct at the end, but it was done quickly, and without argument! Great People to work with, and made us feel like they had Our Best Interest in mind

Outstanding job and a REAL PRO!!!!!!!!!!!

Could not be more pleased and would highly recommend Bruce Ryan Masonry for any chimney repairs.

Very professional from the initial contact for an estimate all the way through completion of the work. Aside from looking up and seeing the new chimney cap you would never know his crew of 5 were even in the yard. When he called the night before he said they would be on the job between 7am and 7:30am, and by golly  they arrived a little before 7am which was a pleasant surprise.

From estimate to completion, I was very happy with Bruce Ryan.
Starting with the estimate, Bruce arranged to come to the house on a Saturday morning to look at the house and see what work needed to be done.  He said 8am and he was precisely on time.  He walked around the house and pointed out what repairs were needed and explained why.  He was very knowledgeable and professional.  He left and said he'd mail me a proposal/contract, which came promptly.  After signing the proposal/contract, Bruce scheduled a time to do a color match on the mortar.  We agreed upon a color and he let me know he will have to order the color.  When the mortar came in, he scheduled our job.  The day before the job date, Bruce called to let me know the forecast was for rain on job day and he would keep me posted, as he didn't want me to pay for guys to sit around waiting for rain to stop.  He called promptly the next morning to confirm we would have to postpone a day.  He started promptly the next day and had five guys working on the job (as was indicated on the proposal).  I must say I was very impressed with the sturdy scaffolding that was set up on all 4 sides of the house, all at one time. The work was completed mostly in one day, a Friday.  He came back on Monday to finish up and the area was picked up and clean.  The mortar match is awesome!  His team had to remove (cut out) a very large section of brick (4' x 8') and had to re-lay it (the same bricks), it looks perfect!  Upon completion of the job on Monday, Bruce called me to let me know the job was completed and also informed me that he noticed the water spout was not behaving correctly and he was afraid their might be a problem inside the house.  We scheduled to meet that evening and Bruce walked with us around the house to review the work and we "settled" the bill at that time.  Bill was "T & M basis at $225.00 per hour for labor, plus materials... this included 4 men on the job plus all equipment necessary."  I was very impressed with Bruce Ryan's workmanship, professionalism, punctuality, and follow through.
