    I called Local Appliance Repair and an answering service scheduled a technician to come out and fix my dishwasher and refrigerator.  His name is Joe Meyer.  When he arrived, first he tried to sell me a product called Dishwasher Magic for $59.99.  Then he offered to give it to me for free after I showed him that it only costs $22.95 on  After trying to sell me that product he then said that really I could just go to the grocery store and buy T*** - the drink - and it would do the same thing.  He told me he would come back the  next day after he got the part he needed for the refrigerator and asked me to pay in advance.  with cash or a check.  I said I would prefer to pay with a credit card.  He then charged my credit card $373.30 and never completed the work.  He didn't show up for the first appointment, but called saying he had an emergency come up and had to reschedule.  We rescheduled multiple times and at one point I didn't hear from him for 3 days.  When I called the original 1-800 number listed on my credit card statement, the woman that answered said that he was in the hospital.  When he called me later that week he said that his car was broken into and his appointment book was stolen so that's why he wasn't sure when his appointment was supposed to be with me.
    I called the 1-800 number 3 times and was told by the woman that answered that I would be issued a credit on my credit card.  When I called a fourth time they admitted that they are just an answering service and have no control over issuing credits.  I called Joe directly and on at least 4 different occasions he assured me that my credit card had been refunded and I should look for the credit on my statement.  Today when I told him that I still hadn't seen the credit he told me he still didn't understand why I wouldn't let him finish the work and that I would just have to dispute it through my credit card.  I asked him who he worked for and who exactly had charged my card to begin with and he wouldn't tell me.  On my receipt it says "" but on my credit card statement it says "Local Appliance Repair, FL."

    My oven's display panel went out and the oven itself wasn't working.  I called A-1 based on a recommendation and they were quick to respond. The guy came out promptly and was friendly enough, although he wanted to talk about current events and kept giving opinions on topics that weren't appropriate given the situation.  Not a big deal.  He took apart the oven and determined that it needed a specific part, which they would have to order and would take a week to get it in.  Not ideal, but I understood the situation.  I pay the guy and he tells me he'll call me the following week when it comes and will install it.  Two weeks go by and I finally call them.  Apparently the part was never ordered and the technician who came out was no longer with the company.

    I called Don Bacon Appliance Service after our Maytag refrigerator went out. I called around 10a, and Mike was here at 2p. After a quick diagnosis, Mike was kind enough to remove the stuff from the freezer and got to work immediately since he already had the part. In the process of doing this, he noticed that the underside of our fridge had a questionable amount of hair underneath it due to the about 5 years worth of dogs (previous inhabitant + us). He let me know that it is very important to clean underneath the fridge every six months (news to me) or the compressor would could out quite a bit quicker. Then he cleaned it all out for me while showing me what to do and the tools to use! A true gentleman, Mike was professional and efficient (and kind enough to give me all kinds of lessons on the fridge) I told him that the fan going out was probably the best thing that could've happened for that fridge.

    Able to schedule appointment for us quickly. I was very impressed with the service representative who did the work, Andrew. He was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Andrew explained what was wrong and what needed to be done, and was clear and patient in answering my questions.

    I purchased a new fridge on 12-31-12. was told at check out it came with a 30 day warranty. It was delivered that Saturday, just 20 minutes shy of their 2 hour window. I put my food in the new fridge and left as I had a holiday party to go to. When I came home there was a huge puddle on my floor and the food on the freezer was thawed because the freezer didn't work and the food in the fridge was bad because the fridge didnt work either. The next day I went back to the store and explained what happened. I then did an exchange and was told the new fridge would come the next day and they would pick up the other unit. I arranged for someone to be at my house. I called Monday and was told it would not be delivered because the systems were down Sunday the order didn't go in until after 2, although the fridge had been on the truck since Sunday. Further, sears refused to reimburse me for my spoiled food. i was told that despite what the sales associate told me, spoiled food for their inoperable appliances aren't covered. was assured I would get the fridge Tuesday. I arranged my work schedule so I could be home between the hours they told me. On Monday evening I got a phone call from sears delivery and was told my delivery was delayed. I called the store and was assured it would be there on Tuesday and that call must be wrong. On Tuesday I call the store again and am told that the fridge is not coming. I cancelled my order and bought from hagedorns and am very happy with their service. It should be noted I have a 2 year old and 6 month old and I explained to both sears and sears delivery that my 6 month old has an illness and she is required to have her meds 2 xs a day and the meds must be refrigerated. Failure to get them would likely result in her being hospitalized and being placed back on a feeding tube. My pleas fell on deaf ears. My daughter is now sick again because she didn't get her meds.

    Never never never again will I ever buy from sears. Oh, I did get a $100 gift card for sears for my troubles.

    I?d give Day?s Appliance Repair the highest rating possible. They were
    efficient, gave me an upfront price for a visit/diagnosis of $90 and
    then fixed the problem quickly and recommended some optional parts which
    they offered to order for me but said it wasn?t really necessary.  They
    were great.

    Had to come back and replace ice maker they installed. Bill was not itemized. No address shown on anything. Appears it could be an Internet operation that hires independent contractors.
