Thrifty Car Care Center & Glass
Muffler was sounding a little funny. A reputable new car dealer (who sells the make of this vehicle) recommended more than $500 in repairs to the muffler. The car is only 5 years old! We took the car to Menke's in Newburgh (we always have them service vehicles). They were certain that much less was required and referred us to Thrifty Care Care Center and Glass. Thrifty was fully aware that we had an estimate of more than $500. They recommended that they make a spot weld repair at a cost of $40! They showed us the problem before doing the work and the car sounds normal again. The repair was done quickly! My wife walked across the street to get a sandwich and the car was done before she returned.

We have taken all our vehicles to Jeff for many years, starting with the period he worked for Meineke. We were delighted when he opened Thrifty. When the trucks airconditioning gave out, we called jeff and he said he could take us the following day. We dropped it off and received the call that morning that it had been diagnosed as the compressor. We approved the work and it was completed taht same day. The truck chills great now! I would like to mention that one time he made minor adjustments to a vehicle for us and didnt even charge us!!he is always professional and courteous and even remembers me, my husband and our daughter by name regardless of who is dropping the vehicle off.

    Menke's Automotive Repair
First thing to know - we've been using Menke's for approximately 3 years. We've had several older, high-mileage autos and always have them serviced at Menke's. We trust them completely. The list of cars serviced include a 1996 Honda Accord, a 1997 Toyota RAV4, a 1997 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, and a 2001 Toyota Corolla. Those cars all ran great up until we sold them (we still have the Corolla). I was able to tell the new owners confidently that I would drive any one of those cars across the country without hesitation and Menke's was the primary reason. Now the story -- We have a 2007 Nissan Altima that we just purchased 2 months earlier from D-Patrick Honda (June 2011). We immediately had to have the braked completely overhauled and Menke's did that work for us. In August we stopped by D-Patrick Nissan to get a new key made. Before we know it, D-Patrick Nissan hands us a list of $989 in needed or recommended repairs! The total list of repairs included muffler repair, new battery, brake fluid replacement, transmission fluid replacement, cabin filter replacement, air filter replacement, replace a brake light bulb and four wheel alignment. The brake fluid was the major red flag since we had just had significant brake work performed by Menke's.  We got our key made, turned down all of the other work, and took our car out to Menke's. Menke's immediately reviewed everything and assured us that very little of the work was needed or necessary. The brake light bulb was burned out and Menke's fixed it for free. They then recommended that we take the car to NAPA for a new battery and to Thrifty Car Care Center to have the muffler reviewed. The battery at NAPA saved us approximately $30. Thrifty Car Care Center found a puncture in the muffler pipe and welded it for $40. D-Patrick had recommended replacing the pipe at a cost of $520. It may not be apples to apples, but neither Menke's nor Thrifty thought that the recommended repairs were worth it or necessary. Bottom line - getting a second opinion from Menke's save us more than $700!

Truck & Auto Center / Custom Muffler
They took the time to be nice and come out to the vehicle instead of just giving me a price. They gave me a few options to choose from. I think they did a good job and I got a longer warranty than anybody else. They had the cheapest price I could find. They did it within an hour of me walking in the store.

    Advance Tech Auto Repair
I called them and told them what the problem was, and they made an appointment for the next day. He gave me good directions, and when I arrived the parking lot seemed very full of nice cars. He was very meticulous with getting good records on the car. He did a diagnosis and said it was more than just needing a new muffler. The dealer had quoted me $1100, but he only charged $600. He did a fine job, gave me detailed paperwork for my records, and didn't pressure me for any other work. I would go back there in a minute, and I have referred 5 or 6 colleagues to him. His wife works at the front desk, and I was just as impressed with her. They were a team.

I took my mustang to have a check dune on the calcitic converts it has 4 to see if they were plugged up they test them by temperature they told me the heat range they was runing at and told me that all 4 was bad and it was going to cost me 750 bucks to fix it even offered me 12 months interest free to pay so I left thinking my car needs major work done to it .so I went home looking for a cheaper way to get it fixed and I started looking up the heat range of the cats to see how bad they was and that's wen I found out the numbers that they gave me was in the normal heat range of the car they were trying to take me to the bank
