    BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!  LaVee Nails, 2809 N Hurstbourne Pkwy (by Papa Murphy?s).  Have supported this young
    couple in their start-up business for the last three years ? in every way possible!  Truly thought they could grow
    their salon to be a cut above the rest with quality and customer service.  My hope for them was that they would one day
    be a high end salon in the East End.  Sadly, I was very wrong. 
         LaVee is ?just another nail salon? amid the hundreds in Louisville who sacrifice quality and service for quantity.  Without customer loyalty, their fall will be swift.  One must give loyalty to receive it.  Yes, Vivian, you are quite correct.  I would never be happy at LaVee because I will not understand that the technicians working on me must go away to work on someone else during my appointment time.  Perhaps someone does not understand what an appointment means. 
         TO MY MANY FRIENDS AND FAMILY THAT I RECOMMENDED TO LAVEE:  Please accept my apology for recommending and encouraging you to patronize this salon.  That was a HUGE mistake, and I am very sorry. 
        This is the way they treat long time customers - I was among their first "regulars", when they opened. And I am a very regular one who gets a nail service at least once a week.  Perhaps familiarity does breed contempt, in that I feel like they treat me worse than they do the person who walks in the door for the first time.  Over the past year, it has been made pretty clear that my appointments were never at a time convenient for them.  On two recent occasions prior to this, when I arrived for my appointment (with one of the owners), he was not even at the salon, but rather I had to wait for him.  Another recent time, he was leaving to to an errand when I arrived at the appointed time.  Sometimes that is okay with me because I don't have to be anywhere later, but sometimes it is not, and I am pressed for time as well.  That is why appointments are made.  It is definitely time for me to move on.  These people have no respect for their long time customers.  They expect us to be on time -- and cut no slack about that -- but when it seems okay for them to take up the customer's time. 
        This is how a long time customer who has referred several friends and family who became regulars as well is treated, pity the occasional drop-in.

    I was in the process of getting my pedicure when the pedicurist cut me with her little scissors. I started to bleed, and as it hurt, I yelped out loud. I then asked her if someone else could finish my pedicure. The manager came over and asked me to leave.  I asked why they would not finish the service, and he said in his halting English, "Go. Leave now." I asked him why they wouldn't at least put polish on and skip the other stuff, and he said, "Your fault, You leave." They didn't offer to stop the bleeding, or put on medicine, or anything. From there I went over to Kentucky Nails near Tinseltown, and they were kind enough to put medicine on my toe and then finish my pedicure. By the time I got there, there was blood all over my foot and shoe. I kept telling the manager at Venetian Nails that I had not done anything wrong, that it was the pedicurist's fault for cutting me, and he said "You fault. Leave." Other clients in the shop stood there aghast with their mouths hanging open. I sincerely hope that this information will prevent others from going to this spa and getting such horrible treatment. I have never experienced such horrible customer service and incompetence. What he should have done is apologized, given me first aid, and then offered another pedicurist to do my service. Instead I was ousted out of the store, for what I can only assume was yelping in pain.

    I love this salon. It is small (but not too small), professional and hip. I have not had a bad haircut -- or color --since I started going to LeBliss (Sarah is my usual stylist). They offer coupons via email, refer-a-friend discounts, and sell several different product lines, if you're in the market, but there is no pressure to buy. The receptionist staff is always friendly, too. I had a spa pedi there a couple of months ago -- another coupon special, and it was wonderful. A full 50 minutes. Highly recommend.
