Home Security System reviews in London

Vivint system has never worked the way it was advertised and it is more expensive than advertised on the web site. I wouldn't recommend anyone use them. The previous home owner had a system in the house. We asked to use that, but were told we needed to upgrade the panel to get the door camera. After the installer put in the new panel, he informed us he couldn't install the camera. We are being told that they cannot change the monthly fee to $39.99 rather than $49.99 because of the new panel even though we do not have video. The garage door opener only works intermittently and pets set off the motion detectors, so they are useless. When I raise complaints, they go nowhere.

The work was done on time and for the price proposed. We found the installer to be very knowledgable. He originally came out to service the existing system when we could not get responsive service from the 'other guys'. We had one call-back to correct a small programming issue, but that was handled quickly and at no charge. We are delighted with the new system, and would recommend to anyone who is tired of the run-around from other service providers.

Everyone was very kind, professional, understanding and helpful in our installation.  We ordered motion equipment for 2 homes and then decided we needed different types of sensors.  We purchased a package and also one for my 90 year-old mother.  There was no problem returning and reordering what we needed.  I like the system because my mother can understand how to use it.  We put the app on her phone and she does just fine.  Took a little time to learn, but she is good now.  I have turned up the sound on the panel and she can hear it even without her hearing aids.  I customized the sounds so she knows if it is a door, window, or garage door opening.  We were with Protection One and paying $50 with only door sensors and 2 glass breaks and no announcements of what was opening.  We are paying less now and have more sensors (windows, doors, glass breaks).  Plus, it tells us where the entry is.  We really like the systems and so far it is working well.  The alarm is a lot louder than I thought it would be--you wouldn't sleep through it!  We got a Panic Button for my mother, which can be used in the shower, and she feels much safer having that.  There is no extra charge for that.  You could pay almost as much just for that (panic button) as the complete monitoring package we purchased.  Have not had any alarms or problems yet, so can't speak to that.

First, their instruction manual was horrible.  However, their IT support was fanstastic and the guy was helpful over the phone.  The gift card that was advertised on the deal isn't really a gift card, it is a code that is given to you through email to use on Amazon so that was a little disappointing.  I will say that the product itself is really good and had I not been an Angie's List member then I would have spent a fortune on having this installed.

    Terrible. Deceptive. Underhanded. Bartering.
I bought a "Big Deal"---$29 for a complete touch pad alarm with installation. Not so much. Kenny (the installer) came to my house, late, all the way from Indianapolis, where this company is located (I had no idea) and proceeded to tell me that I had way more that the 10 "points" for the install... I had 16. Every "point" is $50 and so my (complete install for $29) installation would now be $450 plus $49.99 monthly monitoring. I was stunned.  After a short discussion, and me telling him that other companies had been out and given me much lower quotes, he made a  phone call to his business partner. Now, all of a sudden, his exorbitant quote was now $175 for the install and $39.99 monthly maintenance and they can install it now. Then he proceeded to tell me that he hoped I wasn't going to go with ADT because of *blah, blah, blah,* all these bad things he said about ADT. When I still said no, he made yet another call and now my install was going to be $85 plus the $39/month to monitor. Now, mind you, this would have been less than the other companies to install it. However, I was THAT UNCOMFORTABLE with this guy AND ESPECIALLY his 'business partner" that I said no. I went with ADT.
Now, after he left, within an hour, his 'business partner called. He told me that Kenny was still in town and could come over and install the system right now. That he came all the way from Indy and was prepared to do just that. That $85 was a great deal and I should do it. When I told him no he said that if I wanted a refund I would have to call and get it myself. I said fine.
The WORST part... The later that day a woman called. She asked about me not getting the system. I'd had enough. Then she really crossed the line. She asked if Kenny, the installer was professional. I said yes. She asked if he upset me. I said no but that I thought their tactics were horrible and very misleading. I told them that if they offer installs for $29, that's what they should be. And if they can do them for $85 they shouldn't try to charge $450. Then she also said that Kenny could come back over and install it. When I said no, she asked if I felt safe. I said "what did you say?" She repeated, "I don't think you're safe. I think you need an alarm. " I would NEVER EVER EVER recommend this company to ANYONE!

We have been happy with the service. Our alarm did go off once and they did call us with good follow up. The system seems to work well and it is easy to use. This company was a few dollars less expensive than other companies for the monthly monitoring. We have purchased the same system through a Big Deal since that time for our son and daughter-in-law as well.

ADT was supposed to show up between 8 AM and 12 noon to add fire protection equipment to my current account. They did not show up by noon as promised and did not call to say they would be late. When I called them, they said the technician was running late and would be there by 1 PM. When the technician was still not there at 1:30 PM I called to cancel the order for fire protection equipment. Attention to detail is important to me when dealing with home security and ADT's lack of professionalism has me looking for a new home security provider. I would definitely not recommend them.

I moved to Frontpoint from ADT after my contract with ADT had expired. The main reason was Frontpoint delivers a lot more for a lot less price. I am very happy with the decision. Their door and window sensors are far more compact and sleek compared to ADT, a lot cheaper and very easy to instal. It took me less than an hour to install the entire system. Their customer service is excellent and the monitoring service also seems to be very good. Would definitely recommend giving FrontPoint a serious consideration if you are shopping for a smart yet reliable security system.

Bob , the owner, was very responsive and knew what he was talking .He did not try to oversell, but explained all the available options.
The install went very well.  We thought the prices where reasonable and cheaper than some other companies.
We also had couple of  alarms go off and the response was immediate.

I would highly recommend them. They also do monitoring. I liked that they were in the late spectrum of size as I didn’t want the big ABT. They weren’t too big and they used non-proprietary equipment. Every company has a dialer that has a communication device that would include in the control panel so that they could communicate with its monitoring which is expected. If you ever change an alarm company then you always going to change the dialer anyway, so that’s expected. They used Honeywell and it’s a good brand that is used by lot of people. Mid America will put in cameras and recorder so that you can record. You can also look at your house in the internet while you are in Indianapolis. They are pretty much up-to-date on the security. The only negative thing that I have to say about them is that they left a little saw dusts here and there but not a big mess like carpenters.
