Mr. Hammond and his assistant did a first-rate job and accommodated my time constraints. I thought their price was reasonable. The man whom I engaged through Angie's list FIRST was a total disappointment. He tied up the first day calling at the end of the day. He was just there to look over the job. He said he would get in touch with me the next day...his schedule had become to busy to do the work that day. He only called me and came after it was dark the next day, and he did not seem to know how to do the work. He said that an address plaque had to be secured by a bolt that screwed in at two directions. He did not center of finish drilling holes. He was foul-mouth and crude. HE said that he would come the next day, day 3. He acted like I could drop classes and other obligations for him to come "sometime" the next day. I told him that if he could not get me into his schedule after two days, I did not want to wait more time to have the whole thing be bumped into a third day. He struck me as being unscrupulous, and he talked about bigger jobs being his main consideration because they paid more. He was proposing that I set aside a whole third day for him to maybe be able to be there to do the work. I said that the arrangement did not suit me. He said that I needed to get someone else to do the work then and hung up on me. I would NEVER call that man to do work for me. He was unreliable, crude, temperamentally unsuited to deal with people, and appeared to be unscrupulous. Hanging up on someone who does not let the small job be bumped into a third day was a deal breaker. The guy's name was "Larry" and he worked at the Jeff Davis company in southern Indiana, which is in southern Indiana. Please do not name me as the person who gave him a bad report. I found the man scary. I would give the man low marks in honesty, reliability, sociability, and know-how. I would never call his company again. The review below is for David Hammond, the second man whom I called through Angie's list, did a fine job installing my address plaque and remounting a garage rack. I was very accommodating and did a fine job. I would call for him again.

Excellent experience from beginning to end. Very satisfied with our new floors. The sale staff and the installation staff did an outstanding job!! We purchased CorTech flooring for our entire first floor and love it!! We had new carpeting put on our steps and it looks great.

Jimmy installed laminate flooring (that we had previously purchased from an online seller) in our living room, hallway, and bathroom. This included removing existing carpet and parquet. He also installed quarter-round molding. All was done at a reasonable cost. He did a great job overall and we are very happy with the results, and have had several compliments already. Jimmy was professional, very prompt with responses, and kept a neat workspace, especially at the end of each day. He put effort into keeping the floor square and level, as well as matching it up with flooring in other rooms. Some surprises can come up when a floor gets removed - in our case there was an extra floor below the current one, and it also had to be removed. This added to the cost and time, but as you can see from my ratings, I was still happy with the outcome. I would definitely hire Jimmy again or recommend to others.

Ronnie was amazing, from customer service to labor. My wife and I wanted to update our hardwoods floors and add hardwood floors to our kitchen. Ronnie's pricing was far better than any estimates we had received from the "bigger" companies in town, along with a couple of other independents. He is very busy (that's a good thing), but we were able to schedule a week's worth of work about 6 weeks out from the estimate. Ronnie arrived everyday at about 8:30 and was done before we got home at 6. Every night we got to see the results from that day without seeing a resulting mess. Ronnie was very tidy and made sure that we don't even know he was there. He was able to blend our old flooring with the new, you can't even tell the difference. Towards the end of the week he made suggestions on stains which my wife appreciated. Ronnie completed all of his work on time and kept us up to date daily. I believe that he went above and beyond by repairing a few scratches in the new floor caused by us moving the refrigerator back into place. Please see the pictures below as examples of his great work. We did ask that he leave us an estimate for some work to the hardwood floors in our upstairs. We would highly recommend Ron's Floors!

No issues at all. Installation was great and the quality of the carpet is exactly what we were looking for. We have had that room carpeted twice in the last 12 years. Neither carpet proved to be of good quality. We had one of those re-stretched twice. We have had NO issues with the quality of this carpet.

We are extremely pleased with the results, and will recommend this company to friends. Rick and Chris were very conscientious as well as the other workers, and were very accommodating when we made adjustments to the original agreement. Rick's number will be the one we call for future projects!

Installation seemed to go well but as the floor settled screw heads started to push up through the floor where they had built up the sub floor. Although I was told that the installation came with a life time (transferable) warranty, it has been like pulling teeth to get Doug to fix any of the issues in the floor. We have just sold the house and the new owner apparently has noticed more screw heads pushing up and Doug is telling the new owner that the warranty is not transferable because I used a separate contractor, when in fact I used Doug's guys and paid them directly based on his recommendation as they would get paid faster and make a little more money. Flooring is good but the integrity of the company is lacking. **** UPDATE **** After speaking with Doug he has agreed to work with the new home owners. I am happy that Doug understands where my frustration stems from and he is willing to do what he can to make things right!

Our experience was wonderful!  The company is a father and son who work very well together.  They are both very knowledgeable!!!! The son did a beveled tile back splash for us which included a decorative strip.  The decorative strip was a chevron design, which was extremely hard to get right, but I told him he was a real artist, because he was so meticulous.  The result was so beautiful that I wish I could attach a picture!

We decided to keep our old cabinets but we wanted the refrigerator moved to a different wall.  So they had to move cabinets and build one matching cabinet to cover the space between where the fridge had been and where they moved the pantry to in order to fill in the 10" difference.  The shelves were removed from the old pantry and replaced with pull-outs.  They made the pull out shelves from scratch and they are great!  They then had to basically build a fake wooden cabinet around our new refrigerator to make it look like it was recessed.  They also removed the old spindle molding from the top of the cabinets and replaced it with beautiful crown molding.  This made our 25 year old cabinets look brand new!  We also had 2 of the cabinets moved up 5 inches and moved forward about the same amount just to break up the looks of the cabinets and that turned out beautiful as well.

They removed the old Formica tile floor that we had and installed a new vinyl planking floor.  We got a new microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher and gas stove and they installed all of those.   They had to remove two old door facings and install new ones because the new flooring was much thinner than the previous floor so the old door facings did not come down to where the new floors were.  They put down new baseboards, quarter round and transition strips for 3 doors.  They replaced 8 new electrical outlets and face plates, which included 3 GFI's, because the old outlets were almond and we needed white.  Several days they were both here for 11 hours. They were punctual.  I really can't think of a negative thing to say about them.  I told them they could use us as a reference any time!!

The work was done expertly and with detail.  The work on the stairway was excellent.  The sales staff work together and helped me find a produce that was perfect for my space.  I want them to know that I appreciate their help and advise. I would not only use them again but would refer everyone I know to go to Carpet Mart FIRST and they will see that they do not need to look further.
