    Champion Waterproofing & Piering LLC
This is my last resort as the owner has now blocked/ won't return our phone calls. I want to share an awful experience I had with Champion Waterproofing and Piering and its owner Luke Haire. We paid Champion to replace our entire back patio as there were visible cracks, and Luke indicated they were "experts with concrete". The job they did was absolutely horrible as the finish wasn't right, the patio was poured sloping towards the house which caused water to accumulate against the house, and there are small puddle areas throughout. Luke agreed the slope was bad and would fix it. After weeks of back and forth, the pictures attached are his version of an acceptable fix for a brand new patio that we paid thousands of dollars for! Luke is now claiming that this occurred because I didn't seal the concrete yet and mud had washed on it. I have confirmed with several other concrete contractors, as well as others in the construction industry, that mud MIGHT stain the concrete, but would not cause it to settle or disrupt the finish. My experience with Champion Waterproofing and Piering and particularly with Luke, was nothing short of horrendous. This post is a fair warning, the work performed at my house and the subsequent bs I've gone through to try and get it corrected should be your expectation if you ever use their services.

    Paradigm Concrete Design
Their price was the lowest by $1000 of the three bids I received and I'm very satisfied with the quality of the work. Their attention to detail is what surprised me. After the job was complete, there was a dried up white residue and gunk on the side of the street in front of two of my neighbors houses from where the concrete truck driver had washed the chute on the truck after delivering the concrete. Paradigm, without being asked and as part of their job clean-up, pressure washed in front of both houses to remove the residue. Would hire again and recommend to family and friends.

Paradigm is A+ all the way! After requesting an estimate, Chad (owner), returned our call and scheduled a day/time. He not only gave us a fair price estimate, but he gave us a potential start date. He called two days prior to estimated start date to give us the exact start date. The crew arrived promptly every day before 8am, ready to work. Jesse and the entire crew were all professional and courteous. They even took to time to briefly stop jack hammering the old patio out, long enough for me to bring our small dog out to toilet. Poor thing was terrified of the jack hammering! Every day, the work site was left clean. Jesse worked closely with us to make sure we were happy with the stamp pattern and colors that we had chosen. Following the end of each day, the crew would touch base to let us know where they were in the process and when they would arrive the next day. The end result was gorgeous! We can't wait to enjoy our new patio! We will definitely call Paradigm when we need to replace our driveway.

BEWARE! He took a deposit for the stated purpose of ordering the concrete and never performed the work or returned my deposit. He stopped returning phone calls and text messages. I am pursuing criminal charges!

Note: This is a follow-up review of a preliminary review previously submitted. Unfavorable contract terms, price, and required method of pay were addressed in the previous review submitted before work began. While the finished patio drains adequately ( a major requirement addressed in this placement), the finished surface (pictured below in comparison to normal sidewalk concrete and an adjoining exposed aggregate seen elsewhere in this subdivision) as well as careless damage to surrounding landscaping is unacceptable and belies the $1000-$1200 higher price paid for anticipated and hoped for higher job quality.

    Champion Waterproofing & Piering, LLC
They arrived on time and had 3 or 4 workers and they worked nonstop and got finished earlier than anticipated. They installed a new sump pump with a battery backup and installed sump pumps in crawl spaces and cleaned them out and redid the base of the area with a liner and a new base. Cleaned up really well and then the owner came by right after to check that all was done correctly. Was very happy with the whole process. Thanks again. Great job.

    502 Construction and Concrete
It didn't "go!" My husband and I contacted Ted after he was referred by our neighbor, who raved about his company. Ted came to our home and gave us an estimate on removing old patio, laying new concrete including setting in 6x6 posts for pergola (that we were going to build). We verbally agreed to have Ted's company do the job. It was delayed several times due to rainy weather, which was no fault of the company's. However, as the weather cleared, we were given several dates of when the job would be started, none of which happened. This was after we removed patio furniture, grill, etc off the patio several times in prep for the work to start. Several more back and forth calls to Ted resulted in more promised start dates with no shows. My husband had to call Ted after each no show only to be given more potential start dates. Finally, after patiently waiting for ~ 3 months, we gave up. My husband wanted to give him one last chance for an actual start date only to be told he "might" be able to have a crew to our house at the beginning of the following week. We decided to part ways. My husband states owner didn't seem too upset about losing our business. Luckily, we had not put any money down. I can't imagine how hard that would have been to get back! So here we are, 3 months later, and no new patio to show for it!

    Paradigm Concrete Design
When company was chosen, four special stipulations were requested to justify a $1000-$1250 higher estimate than had been obtained from competition. Final contract contained none of the four; three were offered VERBALLY. This, in addition to having to pay a hefty 1/3 price deposit, waiting over four months for work, and finding that a 3% upcharge would be required if paying by credit card (See Note) made me question my decision to go with Paradigm. Work was completely in a timely manner. Some disruption and/or destruction of surrounding yard and landscaping was experienced but it is unclear whether this is typical or excessive. Final appearance is atypical of what has been seen in other exposed aggregate installations but I was assured that this is only a temporary condition. A major goal in having this work done was to improve drainage away from the patio. This was satisfactorily accomplished. Final Note: In my over 40 years of paying for goods and services by credit card, this is the first instance in which I have been asked to pay an upcharge. Some refuse to accept, but here acceptance is advertised with no warning of an upcharge. It's called "Cost of doing business".

    Down To Earth
Down to Earth did an excellent job. They were price competitive and very professional and responsive. After sealing the new asphalt drive, we had a few spots that automobile tires made in the summer heat. Down to Earth came back and fixed the spots at no additional cost. I would heartily recommend D2E for services in the future.

    Rock Solid Concrete LLC
I think the contact information for Rock Solid Concrete is out of date. Rick, the original owner, has retired and his son runs it now. Reach them at (502) 817-3396.
I called, got a quote, and hired him. He schedule the job for Friday and Saturday. Friday he cleaned and repaired the driveway and Saturday he sealed it with two coats. He was polite and professional and my driveway is the envy of the neighborhood. It's hard to find a good concrete company willing to do small jobs for a reasonable price. Rock Solid Concrete is a gem and I'm using them for my next project.
