    Bowersox Vision Center
I read online that Dr. B specialized in binocular vision therapy, in fact he's only one of two optometrists who do so in the state. I was extremely pleased with my visit: - professional, kind and knowledgeable staff, thorough examination and sit-down discussion with Dr. Bowersox. I never felt rushed. I had all my questions and concerns addressed. The offices are very relaxing and the staff seemed relaxed as well, while being very attentive. Also, there was a staff member available who spoke Spanish and translated for the Dr which I think is very important in such a Hispanic-rich community as Shelbyville.

    Ward Vision Center
Dr. Ward was wonderful. He was short handed that day so he performed parts of the exam that he ordinarily would not have and did it with a smile on his face. The exam was very low stress and his diagnosis was refreshing. He actually told me that my eyesight had improved and that he did not see the need for glasses if I did not want to spend the money. I chose to go ahead and buy a pair because my work requires a significant amount of reading as well as computer and hand drafting. I was very impressed by his professionalism and thoughtfulness.

    Murray Family Eyecare
The staff was friendly. The doctor was helpful and honest. He gave me different options as far as my prescription for what kind of contacts I could get. He showed genuine concern and seemed very knowledgeable in his field. I chose them because they were the first one on the list of approved eye doctors on my insurance. He didn't do anything that I had a problem with whatsoever. I got in on time for my appointment. There was only a slight wait because doctors overbook. I was pleased with the experience. I was able to get an appointment later in the week when I called so he was very available. The staff was friendly. He did as well or better than any doctor that I've gone to before. I can't see without my glasses. I had absolutely no problems with the billing. I gave them a copy of my insurance card so it was extremely easy from my point of view. I will definitely use them again.

    Klosterman, Dr. Jeffrey A.
I was seen promptly by the eye care technician ( melissa). Then Dr. Klosterman examined my eyes.I have worn glasses and contacts for 30 plus years. He answered all my questions about various correction options for my nearsightedness and and quot;old age and quot; reading problems. He suggested an updated prescription for my contacts. I recieved a trial pair that day. At first I loved the new brand and strength of my contacts and had the office order a supply for me. Within a couple of days ( with more eye strenuous activity) I found that the new brand of contact was significantly drier on my eyes and uncomfortable. Also, the new strength of contact significnantly improved my distance vision, but I had more difficulty with up close vision and I had to try and quot;readersand quot;. I do alot of writing and didn't like the readers. ( It is normal to lose some quality of up close vision with a more specific distant prescription for people with nearsightedness, as I understand it.) Dr. Klosterman was able to work me into his schedule on my off day and reexamined my eyes at no extra charge...we decided to go back to my original prescription. The office staff ( jerrica I believe) was very friendly and didn't make a big deal of having to return the contacts I had just ordered and reorder the new supply. I found I could get a small rebate on my new contacts, but unfortunely had lost lost my receipt. Jerrica promptly emailed me duplicates so I could process my rebate. I live an hour away from this office and specifically came to see Dr Klosterman upon referral from someone I know. I live in a big city and could choose from many, many eye doctrs.I had always gone to Dr. Bizers/Sam's club ( for price). I hardly ever got to see the same eye doctor. So I chose Dr. Klosterman for his reputation and will return to him for regular exams.

    Crist, Dr. Troy W.
The appointment went very well. The only negative experience I had was when I was ordering my contacts. The lady helping me acted like I was bothering her by ordering my contacts. Otherwise no problems with Dr Crist or his other staff. I will still see Dr Crist for my eye exam, but I will order my contacts elsewhere.

    McClanahan Eye Care
First off, I cannot say anything about McClanahan himself because my daughters eye doc is Dr. Adams who (I guess) is McClanahans partner. But I have only met Dr. McClanahan fleetingly. That said, I love Dr. Adams. He was helpful, informed, and sweet to my 3 year old daughter on her very first trip to the eye doc. When I was confused about her condition he sat her and I both down and broke out his model of the human eye and explained it all in detail for us. Also the office staff here is wonderful, they literally spent at least a half an hour following my little girl around helping her try on pair after pair of little glasses. They also let her pick out her own free glasses case. We felt really taken care of there. Since we have had the glasses for about 8 months now, I have to say....I dont think they are very good quality, they are not fit for and quot;kid wearand quot;, but I guess that doesnt really have anything to do with the doctors office itself. AND, every time a screw came out or a nose piece came off I called and they told me to come in and fix it, no appt needed. Once the entire ear piece snapped off and they replaced them with our warranty and fixed them with a similar piece that day. So that she wouldnt have to wait for the warranty pair. We have never ever had to wait for an appointment more than a few hours, and my little girls eyes are much better. We love McClanahan eye care!
