Window Replacement reviews in Lexington

    America's Window
The salesman and installers were fantastic. The windows were of very high quality, much better than the original ones that came with the house. I did have a problem with the tint of the triple-pane windows, however: The glass had a green tint and made the inside of the house look green. There was also not enough light coming into the house due to the enhanced heat-blocking properties of the windows. Because this was the product I ordered, I thought I was stuck with the color. But I called the office to express my concern. Within 24 hours I was put in touch with the regional manager, who drove to my home from out of state to discuss the issue. He explained in detail how the windows were constructed and the variables they could manipulate, and took the time to listen to what my exact needs for the product were. To my astonishment he agreed to replace and reinstall as many windows as I wanted at no charge! He even thought of a way to remake the windows (with a special construction process) to achieve the specific results I wanted. He was determined to make this purchase right for me, no matter what it took. This is far more than most companies would do, I'm sure. Yesterday my new, special-ordered windows were installed (by another excellent employee) and I couldn't be happier! The green is gone, more light comes in, and I know I will be well-protected against the winter cold! The windows are obviously very well-constructed, and I have the highest confidence in this product. And on a side note, the exterior cladding (the border around the window on the outside) was unexpectedly beautiful---these windows look fantastic from the street! If there is any problem, this company will make it right. Based on this experience I know I can trust America's Window to provide high-quality service and an excellent product that they will stand behind at all times.

    Custom Shutters and Design Services
I entered the details of the work I needed in the Angie's List website and the site recommended this company. A lady from the company called me a few minutes later. When I explained what I needed she hung up on me instead of just saying they don't perform that service. Unbelievably rude.

Everything when as planned. The workers were amazing. I have a traditional 2-story. All of my windows were replaced (21). The job was completed in just a few hours. That included cleanup. I really like my new windows. The quality is excellent and I felt the price was more than fair. I plan on calling them when it is time for a new front door.

    The Window Source of Lexington
The Window Source did an incredible job and made the process simple. I had to replace over 30 windows in my home. Randy gave me a great quote, measured every window specifically. Angus, his installer, knocked out a 3 day job in 2 days. No mess on the inside of the home and cleaned up the outside at the end of everyday. We can already feel the difference in the air in our home. If you are looking to replace your windows, I would highly recommend you give Randy and Dee Milby a call at the Window Source.

    Distinctive Design Remodeling
High pressure to sign contract immediately requiring 25% down payment. During this time we discussed all the details of the project. DDR Stating we will take good care of you just check our great reviews. During the planning stage the blue prints looked like a drop and paste CAD design with limited information received from the contract salesman for them to work with. Making changes on the drawings we resubmitted information needed for accuracy. After attempting to update our plans some details were missing. We were told these drawings were just a best effort and don't worry about the details. Distinctive Design and Remodelling stand by there excellent reputation keeping the clients happy. This was a huge mistake. This allowed them to take short cuts to save them money and denied all the details we were promised. In trying to start the project so they can receive the second 25% we were shuffled around with 3 different project managers of whom were not the final project manager. During the entire project communication of when they would be there was a very stressful joke. Numerous times we would call for information. Not knowing themselves we were told a date. Stating they (DDR project manager) will call back at the end of the day or tomorrow morning at the latest with an update. Those calls never happened. After several days passing we would call DDR to get the same run around loop. It became a family joke of how not to treat people. When it came to HVAC (heating and air duct work) they came to a conclusion what was agreed upon was not now possible. So for an addition fee we could have a separate wall unit like in hotels installed. Additional fee was a standard phrase to get more money from us. Initially at contact signing phase the signing salesman repeatedly stated they have a specially trained men to design the HVAC. The two vents agreed upon in the contract became a single trough. They had purchased pvc plastic pipes for the vents. This was not acceptable. See attached picture. The ceiling of the addition was to tie into the existing textured pattern. No effort was made leaving the ceiling with the drywall in need of more patching. See picture. We had to pay hundreds of dollars extra to get the same siding as existing. From the very beginning we explained on several occasions the type of siding has a preformed insulation backing. We evened showed samples of the existing siding and were told it would be no problem to match. In an attempt to finish the project an installation of a concrete porch was not done. Upon this realisation an attempt was made with an inexperienced crew. Using bags of mortar. Returning twice to the hardware store to purchase more bags to try to complete porch. The top of the porch is slightly lower than the bottom edge of the doors seal plate. Thus allowing water to enter under door frame. We are having to demolish the porch and reinstall correctly with another contractor. The yard is need of much repair. Ruts and patches of aggregate and concrete. Concrete spilling on the hand laid stone wall on the front of the property.

    Gilkey Windows of Central KY
Jon and the installation crew were very professional. Our home was built in 1955 and still had the original doors and windows. We decided on the Gilkey triple pane double hung windows and ProVia doors to stop the cold winter drafts, blazing hot summer heat, and the noise from the roads. The difference is remarkable. We looked at other window companies but Gilkey construction looked the best to us. Very happy with the ProVia doors; good seal all around and excellent quality. Highly recommend.

Cost Saver Windows Siding & Roofing
At 6:05 PM on 04/26/17 a representative of stated company named Hannah Scott knocked on my door to sell products and services despite posted no solicitation signs. When I brought this to her attention and asked her to leave she became very argumentative and combative. The situation only ended after I closed and locked the door, immediately calling the police.

    The Window Source of Lexington
I was very pleased with our experience throughout. We were able to meet with Randy at our home to discuss product options, some solutions to issues we've had with our doors, and pricing. He was very knowledgeable about the product, install, and industry. Very patient with us (I tend to ask a lot of questions and am very indecisive). Price quoted was very competitive and I felt so comfortable with them that I didn't feel the need to obtain other quotes. Even before I placed the order, I recommended them to my realtor (who was also getting quotes for windows at the same time). She had them come out and quote as well, she said this was the 5th quote from a window company she'd obtained and by far the best price and was equally pleased with the service. The installers day of the install walked us through what they were going to be doing and reviewed a few aesthetic options with us. After the install they did a thorough walk through, showed us how to use the new windows, and pointed out a few minor errors made which they promptly scheduled to resolve. Randy even came back on the final day of install to ensure we were satisfied with the results. It's been several weeks now and we're very happy we finally pulled the trigger on this project! I would highly recommend The Window Source products and services if you're in the market.
