    Derby's Pet Fence
    Steve was very helpful when I first called and gave me an estimate. Due to weather, I had to wait a few weeks for installation. Steve and his worker came out one morning, and I showed him where the property line was. He placed flags with my help around the perimeter of the yard. His worker then used the machine to dig the trench and place the wires. The unit went into the garage with little hole in the siding that is water tight and barely noticeable. Where the wire crossed the asphalt driveway, they patched with a sealant that is not noticeable at all.
    Within an hour of their arrival, Steve was fitting the three dogs with their collars (I got to choose different colors for each dog) and talking me through the training. He worked with me with one dog at a time. Each dog liked and trusted Steve immediately. Even when they got their first "correction," they still liked him. Each dog worked with Steve and then with me. None of the dogs had ever had a shock collar before.
    The Derby's folder contained detailed instructions about the training routine and had a smaller, simple calendar to follow.
    My dogs have only been "corrected" by the shock a couple of times during training. They stay clear of the boundaries even with all of the flags taken down. The last "correction" was with one dog at a part of the yard we rarely use when a neighbor walked over unexpectedly.
    I like that my dogs can enjoy being with me all around the yard. I have just over an acre, but most of the yard is in the front. A physical fence would not have worked. The dogs are free to explore both the front and back yards. They know the boundaries and hear the beep before they get corrected. When they hear the beep (which is rare since they stay well within the boundaries), they immediately return to the safe zone.
    I have not had to recharge the collars yet. I have a day marked on the calendar to charge the collars overnight. The collars simply rest on top of the unit in the garage and recharge for another several weeks. There is a small indicator light on the collar to let you know if it is charged. I really like that I don't have to worry about replacing batteries and that I can know if the charge is getting low.
    We take the collars off each night and put them on in the morning. The dogs accept it as routine.
    The only complaint I have is about the process, not Derby's. After the installation, we had a dry spell and the trench did not fill in very well. There are a few spots were I can still see the wire because the trench line is so wide. I will probably need to add soil to those areas. That is much better than having to use the weedeater around a physical fence!
    I highly recommend Derby's Pet Fence and the underground fencing and collars they provide. It was worth the money to have a quality product with effective training methods.

    We had an elderly, ill 13 year old American Bulldog. We had an appointment for him to be seen for coughing up blood. The morning of the appointment our boy's condition worsened dramatically. When my husband picked him up to carry him to the car, it was like he knew he didn't have to keep fighting any longer. I do not know what happened at that time, but in the short ride to the clinic, it was clear, our dog of 13 years was actively dying. When we arrived at the office the staff at the front desk was so sweet and took us straight to a room. As if this day could not get any worse, it took a unforgivable nose dive. When Dr Heye arrived in the room one of his first statements was, and quot;This dog is dying. Why did you bring him here? He needs emergency treatment, if he got into rat poison or something there is nothing we can do here to help him.and quot; He was told that we had an appointment for him and quot;coughing up blood.and quot;To which he replied, and quot;Not here you did not. We would not have made an appointment for that.and quot; I was dumbfounded, It was most obvious that we were in the right place as the staff at the desk had us in the book at the time we arrived, for an illness appointment for and quot;coughing up bloodand quot;. It was explained to him that this was an elderly bulldog, that there had been a condition with a tumor, but that this current health state had escalated dramatically within the last two hours and then explained the last 20 minutes, to which he replied, and quot;So what do you want me to do, he is dying. If you ant to save him you need to take him to an emergency clinic.and quot; At this point we are distraught, we are crying and in disbelief He has yet to touch our family pet, who is clearly in distress at this point. I am a paramedic, and I am watching this dog, dying, suffering in front of me, his breathing is slowing, I can feel his heart rate dropping and he says, and quot;Well I will leave the room while you figure out what you want to do.and quot; What we wanted to do was to take our dog to a vet who was going to treat him with dignity, and discussed if there was somewhere we could take him so this disgrace of a human would no be the last person who had contact with our boy. When he left the room the two females at the desk came in, they were crying with us, they were apologizing for him, they were telling us how sorry they were for his behavior, and quot;We are so sorry, he is so hateful.and quot; We decided to have him put down there, for fear of him suffering any longer. After he did the procedure, this and quot;manand quot; never returned to the room; the vet techs carried our family pet back into the room, continuing to apologize for DR Heye's behavior, attitude, words... he never apologized for our loss, he never pet our dog, he never shook our hands, he never saw us again. I can not begin to explain the depth of emotional pain this caused us and our family. When we were checking out, I begged the staff to be sure he was not to handle our dogs body, that although he was gone, he deserved to be treated better than that disgusting Vet would have. The staff was still in tears with us, they were looking over their shoulder around the door, where this foul man was peeking around a door to see if we were still there. There was a female Vet we had seen several times before that was wonderful, the staff stated, and quot;We wish she was here. We just can't even begin to say how sorry we are that you had to deal with him.and quot; I spent a month plotting a way to ruin his business, but that is not who I am. It was not until recently when we had to have a second beloved dog put down; it was at this point when I realized how truly tragic the ordeal at LaGrange Animal Clinic was. My husband, part in tears due to the recent loss of our second boy, and in part still mourning the details of our bulldogs passing stated, and quot;I just wish Onyx could have had such a dignified end of life. He deserved this, he didn't deserve that.and quot; Im in tears typing this, this will forever be one of my lives biggest regrets, I feel like I failed him that day. I feel like he trusted me to be his voice when he didn't have one and I failed him. Dy Heye will NEVER get our business again, I will NEVER forget the way he treated a helpless animal and I urge any and everyone to search for a different vet.

    Dr. Rainey has done all kinds of services for us, and we highly recommend him.  He's very thorough when testing and making a diagnosis, he's very informative, and everyone at the practice has a good rapport with our dogs.  We really like his assistants Ellen, Amanda, Caitlyn, and Chrissy, too.  They always make sure to check on us the day following our appointment just to make sure that everything is okay.

    It was a bit pricey, but the training comes with a lifetime guarantee and was worth the cost. Doug Rountree, the owner, was very helpful and informative, he established a good rapport with the dogs almost immediately, and we enjoyed dealing with him from start to finish. He also used a humane approach when working with the dogs which we really appreciated.

    It went great. Lexi (my dog) and I have been going to Dr. Vaughn for a couple of years, and they always take good care of me. The price is fair, the staff is friendly, and the doctor really seems to care about the animals. I would use them again and recommend them.

    She came back in and told my husband it was an infection because his white blood cell counts were high (blood test showed this). My husband checked out and was shocked to hear the bill was over $500. The bulk of the charge was for the and quot;biopsyand quot;. I think a blood test would have sufficed to see the WBC was elevated or at the very least, she should have asked before conducting such an expensive test. She couldn't say what type of infection it was. We are shopping for a new vet. I would advise others to make it clear that you want to be informed of the costs of tests before proceeding. We certainly have learned our lesson.

    They are excellent and I would recommend them to anybody. They are fabulous with dogs but I do not know about cats, I do not know if they do cats. They were good to our dog and he loved them. They have always been fabulous. We have never had any bad thing to say about them. Shamrock is not all that expensive and if you want they would groom your dog so when you pick them up they were always nice and groomed. They are reasonable for boarding as well as for grooming and they did a great job. Everything I saw was clean. We have a very high energy dog and they let him out and they play with him. He really liked it there. They really care about any dog that comes in there and I think if they have a problem they will tell you and try to work it out with you. They are honest about what they do.

    It was a very good experience and good for the dog too.  They handled my dog finely.  They know all the animals.  Even if they haven’t been there for a while, they still know that animal when they do come in.  So they are very good about that.  I had worked there a year ago and I still take my dog there because I like it there.  They are very professional.

    Beth, of Paws Pet Care is in a word, awesome. We have 5 cats, yes I said 5. One is over 14 years old and needs special care and feeding. One is a nervous kind of kitty and does not board well. The others are normal, relatively speaking and because they're like our children we just couldn't stand the thought of boarding them. So I came to Angie's List and quickly found Paws Pet Care. Beth came to our home so we could meet and talk about what we wanted and it was instantly clear how much she really loves animals. I felt certain our babies would be in good hands while we were away.  She came twice a day to feed and water and even cleaned the cat boxes. And on the last day we had a pretty severe winter storm but she still came out to the house and took care of our extended furry family. She has a great site with menu items you can choose from and an awesome set up so you can list each pet, photos, and specific needs for each one. I could not have been more happy with the service, the professionalism and the care our pets received. She even picked up our mail, and brought in Amazon boxes from the front porch. If you're like me, and you can't stand the thought of boarding your pets, you can rest assured Beth can and will take good care of your furry loved ones.
