    Good, he corrected the circuit problem and while he was in the panel fixed a couple of small code issues that I was unaware of (no additional charge) very quick spent <1hr on a problem that I had spent a full day on trying to figure It out.

    I found David Hammond's services (We Can Do. LLC) through Angie's List and was very happy with his professionalism and the quality of the work he completed for us. Not only was he personable, upon first contacting him he happened to be available for an onsite estimate the same day!  
    Our front entryway job included drywalling 3 adjacent surfaces, retexturing the replaced section of ceiling, reframing the door with trim, and replacing the entryway ceiling light fixture. The project was tidy and completed over two consecutive days, despite the drying time for multiple layers of mudding and sanding. In addition, the end cost matched the initial estimate and though I always got an answering machine when I called, David consistently replied within the hour (usually within 30 min!) and communication remained good. He came to do the job on the days he said he would, and even called on those mornings ahead of arrival.
    Mr. Hammond is definitely at the top of our list for our next home repair/improvement job.

    Of course I paid individually for the extra work but it was always a fair price.
    While Matt does fabulous work he does take his time, as his attention to detail is unmatched.  If you need work done in a hurry he is not the man for you.  His schedule is usually full so it takes a while to get him to your home but once he gets started he does amazing work at a very reasonable price.
    While doing other jobs he noticed some furniture that my dogs had chewed on and said he could fix it good as new.  I allowed him to take the coffee table home and he asked if I wanted the same color or perhaps a two tone, I told him I wasn't even planning on taking the piece when I move, but if he can make it beautiful, inexpensively, I would.  I told him i would like reddish hues and if he wants to do two tone that's OK.  He only charged $40.00 for the piece which was originally quite expensive, and defiantly worth the price.  His work was so outstanding that I gave him two other pieces to restore.  Even though the $40.00 price was introductory, he told me if I wasn't 100% satisfied I didn't have to pay.  Since then he has restored two other pieces for me, all at a very reasonable price.
    My only regret is that I will be moving to another state and not be able to use his services in the future.

    I avoided writing a review because I wanted to calm down, and its been close to 6 months and I am still fuming!  First I purchased a coupon for 2 painters, 8 hours of painting each and the price seemed great.  Have to remember that you get what you pay for! First it was difficult reaching someone to schedule the service, then owner tried to get me to pay extra for "prep" work, moving furniture and taping area so I would have 8 full hours of painting from 2 painters.  I did not need the extra prep time, was sure they would finish everything within 8 hours.  A date was set, and the painters were to show up at 9am.  However, by 9:20am no one arrived, and I called to find out where they were and was told that was not the correct date, but they would "manage" to send someone later that afternoon to start!  (I am a business person - I do not make mistakes with my calendar!)   2 people showed up at 4pm, however 1 used my outside hose to clean off his drop mats from a previous job then sat in the van.  The 1 painter worked for 2 hours.  On day 2 - 3 people showed up at 11am, however only 2 painted while 1 person slept in the company van.  The 2 painters worked for a few hours; however 1 painter was NEW and got more paint on my high ceiling wood beams, wood floor and white sofa than he got on the wall!  My kids and I spent hours that night scrubbing paint off my floor.  When the 1 painter showed up the 3d day (by this time I had 7 hours of painting total) - I made him clean the ceiling beams then leave.  I finished the rest of the paint project myself with my 14 year old helping - and we did a BETTER job than the alleged painters I hired.  In total I had to take off work for 3 days to accomodate the painters, who always arrived HOURS late!   I WOULD NOT recommend hiring these individuals, I was not satisfied with the work, you can still see paint on my ceiling beams that will not come off, as well as paint on a new white couch which will not come off !!  I learned the hard way to merely look at the reviews on Angies List for service providers, but I will NEVER purchase another coupon.  There is a reason Dry Tech put out the coupon to get your money before you receive crappy service!!

    He was scheduled to arrive today and never showed.  He did call this morning and advised he running late and informed that we would need to pay for gas.  He advised he would be arriving around noon today but never showed nor called.  I tried to contact him and left a message, but never received a return call.

    When he looked at the hydrant, he advised that the hydrant was the problem. So he proceeded to run a test to determine if it was the hydrant or the pipe underground. He advised it was the hydrant and started working on it. Once he had everything in place he advised he would need my help. He held the pipe at the bottom of the hydrant while I was supposed to tighten the hydrant. During this process, I apparently was not doing it correctly and the tech got VERY rude with me. Apparently I do not know my left from my right nor do I know how to operate a plumbers wrench. Seriously - that's why I hired them! After I got the hydrant tightened, the water was turned on and it was discovered that it was the main line not the hydrant that was leaking. So, back to the drawing board again. The tech asked me for a small bucket which I provided. Once it was all put together again, I had to assist. This time, it worked and stopped leaking. The tech washed off all of his tools and loaded up his van.
    I noticed the bucket that I had provided had 3 or 4 tools in it so I asked him if he had forgotten these. He stated that he got those tools off the work bench in my husbands shop. He never asked for permission to enter the shop, much less ask for permission to use my husbands tools. In my opinion, this is trespassing. The work bench is not near the front of the garage. The tech had to enter the garage and go all the way to the back to find the work bench. AND left them in a bucket of mud. RED FLAG!
    Then it was time for payment. He presented me with an invoice for the additional time over the initial hour purchased through Angie's List. The labor rate: $112.00. This was NEVER discussed prior to him starting any of the work. The paperwork that was presented to me upon completion clearly states that I was supposed to sign and agree PRIOR to tech starting ANY work. I couldn't do this because the paper was never presented to me until AFTER. His explanation: "I was busy and he didn't want to bother me." I WAS BUSY HELPING HIM!
    When I called his boss or dispatcher, I was informed that most Angie's List customers are cost conscious and don't mind helping. I explained that I was not given any paperwork or details until after the completion of the job and if I had the facts I would not have allowed him to perform any work over the $64.00 I had purchased through Angie's List because I did not have any extra money due to my husband being in the hospital. When I became frustrated because he would not listen to me and kept interrupting me, he got rude and called his tech. 
    Bottom line, in an effort to be fair, I offered 50% of the invoice and they accepted. And the original issue that I hired them for still needs to be fixed! It was never addressed.
    My advice to anyone hiring this company: Get the facts up front. Ask the rate and ask to see the contract.

    The end work looked good, but there was a lot of hassle and run around. The job took three days, but only about an hour of labor. They were supposed to come out Tuesday and they didn’t have a drill or an extension cord so they were supposed to come out the next day at 8:30 am and they didn’t show up until 3 pm. I interacted with Danny and Phil and they weren’t dressed or holding themselves in a professional manner. I had to keep hounding them to finish the job. I wouldn’t hire them again. They also charged me a $25 “travel fee”.

    House Doctors
    I bought the Big Deal from House Doctors Louisville for $99. I had originally scheduled service for the first part of October but was contacted by a House Doctors representative who requested a reschedule due to illness of a technician. I rescheduled for Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 1:00PM. I received a phone call from House Doctors Wednesday morning confirming the appointment. The man asked what I needed to have done and I explained that I was in the process of selling my home and needed some "handyman" things done to the house. I told him I would ask the handyman to caulk some hairline cracks in the mortor of some exterior bricks using caulk I had already bought, and push back iinsulation in the attic from the soffits. I got no indication that those were unacceptable tasks. My realtor came to the house about 1:00PM and I told her that I was expecting the handyman any moment to take care of some of the items requested by the buyer of my house. She left around 2:00PM and I still had not heard from House Doctors nor had anyone come to provide the service. I called the number for House Doctors that is on the Big Deal voucher and got the voice message of a "Phil" with whom I left a message asking for a return call. When I didn't hear from "Phil", I called again. I made several more attempts to contact House Doctors that day and the following day (Thursday). Since I had not received a call back, I decided to send an email to the address on the voucher. As of now, I have neither received a call nor an email response from House Doctors. On Thursday, I sent an email to Angie's List explaining the situation and asking if they could help resolve the problem. Emails from The Big Deal Department at Angie's List indicate they have also left phone and email messages with House Doctors in an attempt to get the provider to contact me. As of today (Saturday), I have heard nothing from House Doctors and have asked Angie's List to refund my money.

         A storm blew through my neighborhood and took numerous shingles off my house. Needed a new roof - date of service September 2008. Received the estimate and they worked with my insurance company directly. A crew of about 25 workers showed up as scheduled, took the old shingles off in no time and had the new roof on by 2:00 p.m. that same day. Done.
         Had a shingle blow off in May 2013; yes, 1 shingle. They came back and fixed it at no charge! Good old fashioned American service!
