Eye Care reviews in La Grange

The exam was very comprehensive and Dr McNulty was extremely helpful in trying to help me return to contact lens by offering different options. He also diagnosed two eye conditions that previous ophthalmologists did not tell me I had although I had made complaints to both ophthalmologists concerning symptoms of one of the conditions. His explanations of the conditions and how to care for my eyes was thorough as well as helpful, and I am very grateful. He is very good about answering questions and offering help. After I made the decision to not wear contact lens, he went out of his way to explain to one of the opticians in the office the problems I had been experiencing with glasses so that the optician could work with me to get the best fit in glasses as possible. Dr McNulty provided excellent care with patience and kindness. I will continue to see him for my eye care and would highly recommend him to anyone! I also found his staff to be very helpful, and my new glasses are great. Thank you Dr McNulty and all your staff!

Great selection of frames. Extremely knowledgeable and experienced staff. Stand behind their frames and lens. I had a problem with my prescription and when the physician redid my exam to refine the script, Krebs made lens to the new script at no fee. Incredible! Very satisfied. Refer all my friends to Krebs.

She also was very good about giving me an on the spot ball park estimate of the total cost with lenses. In the end I decided a new frame more expensive than what I was willing to invest at this time.

Dr. Do-Bizzell was wonderful with my kids! They were both scared of the machines that check your eye pressure and take photos of the eye, as well as the drops to dilate the pupils. She interacted with them in a manner that was reassuring but not coddling, with the patience of a saint as my 7-year-old threw a major tantrum. Her assistant was also patient and helpful. The best part of the appointments was her attention to detail and the way she treated us. She showed the children, using a plastic model of the eye, exactly how their vision functioned and what being farsighted or nearsighted meant. We went with Dr. Do-Bizzell simply because her office is located in the Wal-Mart vision center, and were pleasantly surprised by her professionality and thoroughness. We also found the cost of the visit to be very reasonable at $65 per exam, as we currently do not have vision insurance coverage. My husband and I will be paying her a visit very soon!

Not well.  Reaction to drops and no one even knew how to turn on O2!  Dr was short and said it was vasovagal response.  Not true. Not the right symptoms.  Then they called and said they would not do my surgery!

The doctor's technician, Susan, took me back and performed four tests on four separate machines (including glaucoma test) before escorting me to Dr. Do-Bizzells examining room where she did the usual vision exams.
She altered the prescription for my glasses (which I then purchased from WalMarts vision center) and then showed me pictures of my eyeballs, on a computer screen, that Susan the technician had taken earlier. Dr. Do-Bizzell very thoroughly explained the pictures of the nerves an how they connect to the brain which I found very informative and then she started to explain the white dots, which indicated macular degeneration. I was quite alarmed as this age related disease shouldn't be happening for another 10-15 years. Had it not been for this machine and test, I would never know about the problem and while she explained that it cannot be reversed, there are steps to take, to stop it from accelerating. Dr. Do-Bizzell calmly went over the kinds of eye vitamins I should start taking, explaining in detail the many different kinds and which would be best for me personally and several other things that I can do to stop the progression of this sight-stealing disease. While I left the office a little numb at the bad news I was leaving with a plan of action that afforded me some sense of control.
I have used Dr. Do-Bizzell for about five years now, and have the utmost confidence in her. I would highly recommend this office for your yearly vision check-ups and will be visiting her again next year with the hopes that my macular degeneration hasn't worsened and knowing all will be on file to compare my new tests to.
