    America's Window
When representative showed up to perform an estimate on our home for 5 windows and a sliding glass door my husband arranged to be on site for the time frame. When the rep showed up he asked my husband where his wife was as he could not complete an estimate if I was not present. My husband explained that he had already had 2 other companies out to quote the windows with no problem and that he would share the estimate with me when I was able to get home from work, which was later than the rep could make it out. In the end, the rep refused to continue with an estimate if I was not present with no other explanation than 'the wife has to be here.' At no time was my husband told that I would need to be there for the estimate. What a huge waste of time for everybody and now we will not continue with a quote due to the complete ridiculousness of this supposed policy. If the roles were reversed and I was told that my husband needed to be present for him to complete the quote I can only imagine what I would have said. It's 2017 people.

    Precision Garage Door
I initially called another garage door repair company and they charged extra to come out on the weekend.  I later noticed an ad in Angie's List magazine for Precision Door which said they did not charge extra for weekend work.  I called them at 9:30 AM and the serviceman was here at 11:30 AM.  Two hours later the garage door was fixed. I received a 10% discount for being an Angie's List Member.

Everything was great.  They did a good job with the installation, they cleaned up after themselves, and they were professional yet friendly while at the house.  Furthermore, they worked the entire time, and I haven't had any issues with the windows or the door.

The sales rep came out to my house on 5/21 to show me product samples and do their sales pitch.  When I called to set up the appointment I said I wanted a quote on insulated siding and new soffit.  They brought a sample of their siding with the Styrofoam insulation attached to it.  They quoted me a price and said it included the siding and a new front door (which they were going to throw in for free.  I asked about the soffit and they said they would include that also.  They started the install the first week of June 2014. When I came home from work the product that I was shown was not the product that was installed on my house.  I called the office and the sales person called me and said I was supposed to get the backer that was written on the purchase order.  He called the installer who promptly called me.  I told the installer that I didn't see any insulation and he proceeded to argue with me and get an attitude that it was on there.  It took me a while to convince him that the product I was shown was siding with Styrofoam insulation attached to it.  They ordered some type of roll of insulation which was not the product that I had been shown, nor was it the product that I was under the impression I had purchased.  The installer told me that they weren't able to put the insulation around the windows because they had to be built out in order for it to look right.  He then called the owner of the company who promptly called me to discuss my issues.  He made an appointment to come out to my house on 6/7 to discuss the options available.  The options available were to either pay money to build out the window frames or he would deduct some money from the original estimate (which was $7975 and he was only going to deduct approximately $800).  I chose to do the build out and to have the Styrofoam insulation installed and I also purchased another door for my house.  He offered to wrap the door and window jams with aluminum for free.  The project was completed on 6/19 and the owner came out to my house to finalize the paperwork.  The new front storm door was not closing properly so the owner called the installer to let him know.  I heard the installer getting an attitude with the owner of the company about how the door closed when he was here and blah blah blah.  I am satisfied with the final outcome of the project and the customer service skills of the owner of the company.  However the installer needs to learn not to get an attitude with the customer or the owner of the company.

Ladegast SkilledTrades was the answer to our needs! We had a partially finished room in our basement that we needed completed within a very short time span. They did a great job framing up & drywalling the room and adding a walkin closet. They also made another closet for us under the stairs along with putting on a properly ventilated door for the furnace room. The base trim was also done by them and was nice(he also fixed some trim above an existing door).  There was an electrical box in the room and since it was going to be a kids room, we needed to enclose it and put a lock on it and that is exactly what was made for us. It was perfect.
They also repaired a large stress crack above our MBR door. The owner Brent was extremely professional and so were his employees. Very prompt and kind. I felt very comfortable having them in my home doing the job while I was away at work during the day. The job was not rushed, but done promptly as said. I even asked Brent to look at the basement toilet to get his opinion of why it was leaking. He did a quick fix for me and didn't even charge us. Also, put in an access panel in the main basement area along with one in our closet which we needed to have. Wonderful to have a working restroom near a kids bedroom.
We are very pleased with the affordable & excellent job that Ladegast Skilled Trades did for us and will contact them in the future with any jobs needed. Thanks!

    Gilkey Window Company Inc
We have used Gilkey before in a previous home to have windows replaced and had a great experience with them so we gave them a call for 2 doors with half round windows above them to have replaced.  Sales rep was very punctual and pleasant to work with.  When he quoted me the cost of these doors and windows I was surprised on how high the price was.  He stated the half round windows (which were 3 ft across by 2 ft high) were almost $900.00 each.  I felt that was too much.  He explained it was not the window that costs that much, it was the labor to make it.  I really did not believe it was that much but I do like the quality they produce so I placed the order.  On installation day the crew showed up right on time.  It took them over 6 hours to replace 2 doors and the windows.  Crew seemed to take a lot of cigarette breaks which led to the length of the project but overall they did a good job.  I am pleased with the quality of the doors and windows but I do not believe I got my money's worth on this project.  My home has a lot of windows, 47 to be exact with 13 of them being half rounds (and larger than the one's I had replaced already).  You can do the math of how much it would cost to replace them all.  If I need windows replaced in the future I will definitely call them for an estimate but I will also bring in some competitors as well.

We had problems with our garage door when the wire and spring broke. My husband picked this company because they were close to our house in Oldham cty. He asked about buying the cable and doing it himself- he advised that you have to be very careful because of the pressure on the springs. He came out the next morning-1st stop and fixed the door. He explained what needed to be done and was very reasonable on his prices.
