    CARDINAL FOUNDATION & WTRPRFNG
Huge job with foundation footer drainage. Backhoe damage in the middle of the winter. Often asked for cash in the middle of the job instead of payment in full at the end. Did damage to our house by knocking off chunks with the backhoe as well as completely knocking down a retention wall. Never graded our yard properly, or repair anything he damaged on our property, so it is costing us THOUSANDS of dollars to have others come and build a new retention wall as well as regrade the yard. Also promised to rebury the gutter drains that run out to the dry creek, but never came back. He dissapeared, but still tried to bill us for the full amount. Horrible experience.

The representative, Jeff Lockhart, gave us a detailed quote of the work required to dig down to the foundation, jack up the house, and jack the foundation wall back upright, seal the cracks inside and out, install reinforcing I-Beams, panels, and drain system into the existing sump. He also gave us a date that they would be able to start, and an estimate of the time required to finish. They were right on time and the job was done very professionally.
The foreman, Rich, and crew were very efficient and hardworking throughout. When they were cutting the cement floor they used a vacuum to collect the dust as they went and we found barely any dust on the dustcovers we had put over our belongings; they also put down a protective film on our stairs so as not to track any dust on the carpet. When they dug down to the foundation on the outside they put down tarps first to protect the grass, and left the area clean when they finished.
Rich was able to save all of the brick on the outside (which had buckled out) and anchored the brick to the frame before tuck-pointing the joints. The wall is perfect now. Tim also cast a new concrete pad for the heat pump, and had it ready to restore the air conditioning by the time the foundation work was halfway done - this was much appreciated considering the heat and humidity we were experiencing at the time.
They left our home clean and neat inside and out. The workers were all professional and polite, and were willing to fix any problems immediately as they came up.
Jeff also worked with us on the payment, waiting until our mortgage refinancing check came through.
The whole experience was as easy as working with family, and I would recommend them highly to anyone.

The two people that came and did the work were very neat.  I had several storage racks that I moved out of their way to give them room to work and I covered everything in plastic not knowing what kind of dust may be raised.  They used a vacuum to suck up the dust as they were chipping away at the cracks to prep them for the new sealant.  When I removed the plastic, there was not much dust at all.
All in all they did a great job.  We have had several heavy rains and no leaks.  I have moved all my storage racks back in place.
I was between Perma Dry and another company, but by the end of the day Perma Dry's estimate was the original, while the other one kept going up as I asked more questions.  They did a great job.  Very satisfied with the results.

    Champion Waterproofing & Piering LLC
From beginning to end, this company and it's representatives really impressed me! Tim was prompt in coming to my house to write the estimate and did a great job of explaining my options and how the work would be performed. Even though it was a little more expensive, I chose to have the crack repaired from the outside, rather than the inside. The night before the repair was to have been made, we had heavy, heavy rain so he called and asked if they could come out a day later instead. Josue did the actual work - he showed up right when he said he would and was very courteous and professional. I asked him how long it would take and laughed to myself when he told me he would be done by 1:00. (It was 8:30 a.m.) He wasn't a very big guy, he had to manually dig all the way to the foundation of my house, and the ground was WET, so it had to be heavy - there was no way was he going to be done by 1:00! I kept peeking out the window to see how he was doing and it was amazing to watch his progress!! The hole he dug was only about 4 ft x 2 ft at the top, but it was 8 feet deep - like I said, he wasn't very big, but I still don't know how he had room to maneuver a shovel and chop roots in that small of a space (yes, there was a tree to contend with, too!) Well, he was finished at 1:30, but I figured the extra half hour was because he noticed my sump pump pipe was leaking and he fixed that, too!!

    Highland Basement Waterproofing
I called the Highland Waterproofing company requesting an estimate for water leakage in my basement wall.  I made an appointment and 'Mike' came out, explained the problem, what was needed to fix the problem and gave me an estimate.  Please keep in mind that I purchased this home in Lagrange KY in 2010 and moisture problems were covered up by drywall and some sort of epoxy.  My basement flooded for other reasons but now I could see with my own eyes that the builder of this house performed very poor work in the basement walls and tried to hide his shoddy work with epoxy and drywall.
The HIghland crew arrived on time, broke down the moisture section of the wall down through the cement floor (approx. 8x9 section), replaced a section of the wall, sealed the problem wall as explained, built up the 'under floor' below the wall and masoned new cement over the floor that was repaired.  I received a 'Lifetime Warranty' in the mail to ensure that I am dealing with a professional company.  In summary:  Moisture problem(s) in a basement can lead to very serious problems if not corrected right away (more water leading to mold, mildew and flooding).  A home owner wants to know the company hired is thorough, professional and honest and will fix the problem permanently (if possible).  I am so very thankful to God for giving me Angie's List to find Mike and the Highland Basement Waterproofing Company that confirm we still have family company's that are professionals that care about honesty and integrity.  Superior Service and I will pass onto my neighbors.  Oh yes, be very careful if you purchase a home in Lagrange, KY and ensure you have the 'best' inspector to help avoid nightmares such as this.

    Champion Waterproofing & Piering LLC
Once we called to schedule the repair we were given a date, and Champion Waterproofing kept the date, which I find rare with other contractors we have dealt with in the La Grange area.
The repair was performed in record time, in less than the estimated time, done in high quality including patch cement work was perfect, also no clean up was required by me.
Our sump pump was raised on a block and tested, something I could not get the plumber who installed it to do anything.
Also the employee discovered the anti-back-flow valve was defective adding to the cycling, something the original plumber ignored when I indicated there was an issue.
I would definitely use Champion Water Proofing again for any other future issues, and definitely recommend them and rate them A++++!

    Crawlspace Doctor
I Called several crawlspace companies in the area. I spoke with Matt Wells with the crawlspace doctor and he explained the entire process with me and was very patient in answering all of my questions. Every company I spoke with had a different way of doing things, but I felt that Matt with the Crawlspace Doctor had the best deal for the money. Robert Wells (Matt's Father) and 2 others showed up on time the first day and worked all day removing debris and insulation from the crawlspace. Robert took me down into the crawlspace after it had been cleaned out and showed me exactly what they were going to do in detail. He explained why water was getting into my crawlspace and what I needed to do to limit the amount of water coming in. (Mainly rerouting and unclogging gutters). The second and third day was installing perimeter drain system, sump pump, vapor barrier and insulation. It took them approximately 3 days to complete the work which I thought was very reasonable given the amount of work that had to be done. All of the guys were very professional and cleaned up at the end of each day. The price for the work was more than I wanted to spend, but I am glad that I did because the crawlspace looks awesome!  I don't have to worry about any more standing water, animals or growth in my crawlspace.

PermaDry repaired the cracks by drilling out the cracks and packing them with a waterproof compound, putting epoxy on top and then a fiberglass mesh over that.  They then jack-hammered out deep wells in the concrete floor below the bottom of the cracks to place a PVC sheet into.  The PVC sheet covers the cracks from top to bottom and fits into the well so that if there is any leakage through the cracks, the water will go behind the PVC sheet and down into the well and out away from the house.  The worker was very clean - I thought my whole house would be covered in concrete dust but that wasn't the case.  The worker cleaned up and I had minimal mopping to be done in the rooms.  I was impressed with PermaDry's efficiency and cleanliness.

    Bone-Dry Waterproofing Inc
In March of 2009 I had Bone Dry "waterproof" my basement.  That summer we had a leak that they returned to fix.  I waited one year before totally finishing my basement. In May of 2010 we had a large amount of water in the bedroom and hall.  The water was coming from the area they had returned to fix.  We had to install new padding to our brand new carpet in the bedroom and hall.  Bone Dry came out and installed another finger drain about a foot from the previous drain. In February of 2011, we had more water in our basement.  Once again in the bedroom and hallway.  Bone Dry installed another finger drain in the bedroom. Just a few weeks later, we had water once again.  This time in the bedroom, hall, bathroom, entryway and back of family room (about 1 inch of standing water).  After speaking with one of Bone Dry's installers, he had pulled the original drawing (first time I had seen anyone do this) and asked me about a previous structure in the drawing.  It was an old concrete block shower that was not in use during the waterproofing.  The workers had our permission to go underneath.  They did not, nor did they go around it - failing to connect they system to the other side of the sump pump.  This water ruined are carpet, wood floors and woodwork in the bathroom.  Approximately $3000 -$4000 worth of damage. Once the system was finally connected, we had a small amount of water in the bathroom the next time it rained.  Another finger drain was installed.  Several weeks later we realized that the sewage crock in the bathroom was kicking on during a storm.  After the lid was removed, it was discovered that the crock had been damaged and someone had attempted to patch it and you could see screws in the side of the crock.  Ground water was pouring into this sewage crock.  Plumbing inspector witnessed this as well. When searching for a basement waterproofing company, I would look elsewhere.  You don't want this to happen to you.
