It's very hard to find a really good finish carpenter, and Garrett Renfro is one of those rare people. We are so happy to have found someone with his skill set and professionalism in our area. A long time ago we learned to hire the most skilled people we can find who have a great reputation. They may charge a bit more, but the cost is worth it because the work is done right the first time. Garrett is that category -- the highest quality work, and a bit more expensive than the average guy.

What started as an overwhelming and stressful situation became so easy to resolve! K and L Home Improvements Inc. took care of everything from communication with insurance company to offering suggestions for best type of flooring for our circumstances. They were quick to respond to my call, provided detailed estimates and every employee that was in my home was respectful, curtious and kept things cleaned and picked up. Their work was of excellent quality and it was evident that employees took greay ride in their work. I would absolutely hire K and L Home Improvements for anything I needed done in my home!!!!

Called Andy on call in the afternoon to see about installing shutters on a 2 story brick home. He said he would have contractor call me. Contractor (Jerry Brewer) called me next day. He said he would go by the property and call me with an estimate. I had purchased and left the shutters at the house. Mr. Brewer called me back that day with the quote and  returned a couple of days later to complete the install. The install was completed as promised. Every thing was cleaned up and looked great. Mr. Brewer was very courteous and easy to work with. Would use them again.

We had an electrical fire in our attic and extensive water damage throughout our house after the fire department put out the fire. Our insurance company said that we needed to locate a contractor to rebuild/remodel the house (they did not recommend contractors for such a large job). The insurance company provided us with a detailed budget for our job. We cross-referenced a list of highly rated contractors from the Better Business Bureau with Registered Remodelers from the Home Builders Association of Louisville. This actually was a pretty short list, which included Doiron remodeling. Donna, Jim, and Craig Doiron came over to see the house, and we got the sense that they would listen to us throughout the job, which they did throughout the 6 months that we worked with them. They each had good ideas (in different areas - they each have different strengths) about what we could do with the remodel. Donna worked up an estimate for the job over the next few days, which we asked her to do without seeing the insurance company's budget. Her estimate was in the $190000s. The insurance company had budged our job significantly lower (like $40,000 - $50,000 lower). At that point, we showed Donna the insurance company's budget, which did not appear realistic. She talked with our insurance adjustor, who then raised the budget to Donna's estimate, and we went with Doiron. Paul Doiron oversaw most of the work on site. The schedule and the budget remained on target throughout the job. We did end up going over the budget, but this was mainly because code-related problems were discovered after the demolition. These problems were shown & explained to us, Donna discussed these costs with the insurance company, and the insurance company covered them. We also went a little over the budget because we decided to upgrade some of our finishes while we were in the middle of the remodeling process. Doiron used established subcontractors for most of the work in our home; we checked out a few of them with the BBB as a cross-check and they had good records. Doiron did most of the painting and carpentry and did a very nice job (my spouse is very exacting). Donna also was helpful in hooking us up with cabinetry, tile, etc. designers with our suppliers who could help us with the design process (this was at no additional cost). All government and utility inspections were completed in a timely fashion during our remodel. A one-year warranty was given on the work. We had one problem during that year (tile job in bathroom), and the Doirons immediately had the subcontractor come repair the job. In sum, the Doirons made the process smooth for us, while providing us with excellent work. We have been very pleased with the work over the past 1.5 years and receive compliments on it from guests who come to our home. We definitely would use Doiron Remodeling again!

Overall the experience was good. They were on time, very prompt in calling with questions, and finished before the deadline.

Great professional work. Installed a cabinet sink and took the time to cut out cord around for a better fit to the wall. Matched a local big box stores installation price.
