    My era of Chevy truck is notorious for rusty brake line failures.  I tow a 7 ton trailer with the truck and had put off not getting my brake lines replaced to long.  After seeing several friends trucks have the brake lines burst or leak in the last few years, I finally had mine replaced.  The Chevy dealers wanted a small fortune to replace them.  I stopped in at Singletary's last week and talked to Todd.  Todd said he has done several brake line replacements on Chevy trucks.  He performed the work professionally and fast.  I plan on having any new work done there and have been telling lots of people I know about my Singletary experience.

    I some issues with it. It is a used car, I some issues with it when I drove it off.  I went back to the salesman and he gave me some run around about he had to do xyz and I'll get back to you. He never got back and I said to heck with this and I went to another dealership. They could have done lot better but I don't think that was in the cards for them. That particular salesman sells cars being sold or getting in car sales and his thing was, "okay, let me sell this and get out of the door. That was about the extent of it.

    We dropped the car off and left it to be looked at, they normally have a long wait for their services. After a few days we hadn't heard anything so we called. We were chastised for calling: We'll call you when we've had a chance to look at it.  Several more days pass, still nothing and we had a new phone number. They say: We can't find anything wrong with it but are still looking. Don't call us, we'll call you. Finally another week and they say: Nothing is wrong, and you owe us $80 for a parking fee because it took you so long to get your car. 
    Pick up the car and it's making a ton of racket. There is certainly something wrong and if they can't even be bothered and only want to charge us with parking, these loyal, long time customers are gone. We've been with them for more than 20 years, but the waits, the attitude, and the rude behavior have come to dominate and I don't feel that we're getting fair treatment or positive service anymore.

    They cleaned the throttle plate and injectors.  Added cleaner to gas.  They also did an overall check and recommended spark plug changes but said I could schedule and delay the maintenance with an appointment and minimum wait time.

    First I shopped around on price and found that this would be between $850 & $1200, so Conns was at the lower end of the range, but not the lowest, mainly because you pay retail list price for the Parts (can get on line for about $100 less), but you are also paying for the warranty.  He would have installed parts I purchased on line, but would not warranty the parts (the manufacturer would) and I would have had to wait about 5 days to get the parts and the car was no longer drivable, so it would have cost me a rental or imposing on friends/family to drive me to work for a longer period of time.  So I spent the extra $100 at this point.
    Then I did research on quality of the shops including but not exclusively Angieslist.  I choose Conns Auto Shop because they had the highest positive ratings and the least negative ratings of all the shops in Louisville from all sources.
    I found the owner Dave Conn to be up front, forth coming and honest.  He kept me informed throughout the process, which took about 2 days.  The work is about a 7-8 hour job, but he also has to send out the flywheel to be resurfaced.
    While disassembling the transmission, they ran into a problem where it would not come apart.  There were fibers from the clutch wrapped around some internal parts.  Dave called me to let me know that they ran into this problem and that they will work through it, but could possibly damage some other parts.  Later on he called me to let me know they got it apart without damaging anything else.  This obviously took them more time then estimated, but he did not charge me any extra.  This to me is the definition of customer service, something I have never had at an automotive repair shop or dealership.  
    I have never said in my 40 years of car ownership that I was extremely satisfied with any car repair shop, so this is going to be a first.  Dave was very professional and customer oriented.  I will bring all my out of warranty car repairs to his shop in the future and will highly recommend him to anyone I know when they need car repairs.

    It went beautifully.  John could not have been more personable, professional, punctual and efficient.  The car is a lease which is going back to the dealership soon, and at no extra charge, John offered to remove numerous stickers and decals my husband had affixed to the car.  I was grateful to be relieved of that chore.
    I also received a $15 off coupon on any future work I might need.

    I bought a new car on 12/19.  Yesterday I got a statement in the mail stating I had signed up for an extended warranty.  No one at the dealership had discussed an extended warranty with me and I did not sign up for one.  I called the manager and he put me through to the finance person who said of course that I did sign up for it.  I told him he did not even mention the subject and that I wouldn't have signed up for it, we were going in circles so I hung up.  I find it deplorable that a dealership would treat a customer this way.

    Fixed coolant leak. Took the vehicle in on a Saturday. Mr. Murphy promptly pulled my car into a bay to assess the problem. He pressure tested the coolant system and determined there was a problem. He had to take several parts off to reach the suspected problem area. He found a coolant hose that was loose and tightened it. He again pressured tested the system. He felt sure this would take care of the problem and told me to drive it and monitor the situation. I did this and it did cure the problem. I asked him how much I owed him and he told nothing, just remember him in the future. I certainly will do just that. You hardly find this type of business  this day and age.

    They are a great provider of service.If your car is serviced ,they do it right the first time and they always use quality parts.The only drawback is the cost per hour,but I am sure everyone else is just as expensive

    For a year or longer, I have had problems with squeaking brakes on my 2007 Subaru Forester.  The auto shop I was with did everything from spraying, cleaning, changing belts, new pads and turning rotators.  At times, it would squeak even worse after it had just been worked on.  I found John Overley Automotive on Angie's List  and took it to Mr. Overley on November 9, 2013.  Within an hour, they knew what my car needed and it has not squeaked since.  I talked to several people while I waited and found that Mr. Overley runs a highly respected automotive shop.  Some have been his customers for more than 25 years.  I will be talking my car back to him for all maintenance and repairs.
