OMG! Because of this horrible corona I just had a video visit with Dr. Michael Schmerler ... It was my first time with him. In the past I had visits with nurse practitioner Amy and Dr. Smith… When I heard that I would have a new doctor… I was NOT happy. I am an old bird… I am a creature of habit and I don’t really like change. I loved Amy the NP... and my Dr Smith... BUT...Dr Schmerler was immediately engaging and warm! I was comfortable within seconds with him! I could ramble on and on but I’ll spare you… LOL at myself again… Give him a try. I am betting he is not only a wonderful doctor… I bet he is a wonderful person. And in my opinion... It is difficult to find both wonderful traits in the medical field, these days… I am sure you will adore him to.

They went over every vertebrae. They were very thorough. I think that most of the surgeons are excellent. They all have different personalities. They one that we saw was very thorough and he explained everything to us. He doesn't think that surgery would help her and she still has the pain. There isn't a lot that they can do about it. The billing and administration has been very good. My wife has been seeing them for about a year.

    Mayfield Clinic & Spine
He calmed my down and told me it was not necessary to do a large surgery at this time. Convinced me to only do the surgery that was necessary and to wait as long a possible for a larger surgery. Give the body time and also the medical field to make more advances. I have to have a disc removed at the end of Oct but so far I am very pleased with his bed side manner and his concern for the patients well being. A great addition to the practice.

    TenPas, Dr. Sherri L
Dr. Tenpas is young. She is very thorough. I really like her. I've been to different neurologists, and she is compassionate. She isn't egotistical. I have had a really good experience with her. I see her every few months.

My wife was in surgery for 10 hours, the doctor fused 9 vertebrae and put in some rods and screws. After the surgery the doctor came out and talked to us and reassured us and my wife that she would get better. He was definitely not a cut and leave doctor, he was very caring and supportive.

    Skidmore, Dr. Bradbury A.
He and the clinic were excellent. Another doctor I saw was going to do the same thing with three surgeries with metal rods but Dr. Skidmore said he could do the same thing with one surgery and no hardware. He told me that he couldn?t alleviate all of my pain but he could fix the problem, and that?s what he did. I used to be in a wheelchair but now I?m up and mobile again. My cardiologist recommended him to me and I would definitely recommend him.

    Fudala, Dr. Ron
He can figure things out when no one else can. He was able to figure out a rare problem that I was having. He is a brilliant diagnostician, that is his specialty.

They are world renowned surgeons. They travel all over the world to do surgeries. The VA pays for everything so I don't have to get a bill. They are excellent.

    Back & Spine Center
Our experience has been very positive with the Back and Spine Center. My husband has had chronic pain issues for years, so we have seen a few different pain centers throughout the decades. This is one of the better offices. It takes awhile to get an appointment, which is to be expected with a specialist appointment. When we arrived at the appointment, we found the office staff quickly processed patients and the wait time to get to the consult room is minimal. The nurses make every attempt to be considerate and encourage the patients to smile or laugh when possible. What a refreshing attitude especially considering how awful most patients feel when going to an office for pain treatments. Dr. Lee had some great suggestions for my husband, and has suggested several treatments that have not been tried in the past. He did an in-office procedure with acupuncture, which had an immediate effect in decreasing pain. The doctor also takes the time to explain why he prescribes certain medicines or treatments which helps the patient to have a realistic expectation. For some patients, there is no cure and Dr. Lee helps people explain what is possible given the problem.

    Sharts Michael MD
My husband and I were very impressed with him. I had been dealing with this thing for about 6 months and  had seen several doctors, chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, our personal doctor, orthopedic doctor and finally ended up at a pain specialist before finally going to Dr.Sharts. We went in for the appointment with him and  were all pleased that we had done this other pre-work. That meant I didn't have to repeat x-rays and all that because I'd already had them done. He sat down with me and we talked about how I was feeling, the symptoms and what was going on. He hadn't even looked at the x-rays. He said, "I treat people, not x-rays". I was very impressed with that. He them went and looked at the x-rays, MRI and reports then came back in and said that I had a significantly pinched nerve and the best thing to do is to get it out of there. He is young and seems very knowledgeable. I was able to get in so quickly. He likes to do minimum invasive surgery. The office was clean and the staff was nice and friendly. He came right in to see me.
